And the only time he put someone in danger was at the beginning of the movie when he disobeyed direct orders, Neteyam and the others insisted on going with him to save Payakan, he never asked him to. Not to mention that Aonung was the one who almost got him killed.
And yes, Lo'ak is just like Jake, that's the entire point of his character. That is a crucial fact of the movie. Don't whine about it just because you don't like his character. You call them Lo'ak fan girls, but you're just a Jake fan boy and not better

I think it's very obvious now that even though his BODY was 28 years old during the movie, that would mean he left earth/was put into cryo when he was 22. This is a 22 year old Marine vet if I've ever seen one.

To add to this: When Jake Sully let the lenopteryx go at the end of the movie, you can see it flying much higher so that no one could try and surprise it from above again.

To be fair, Jake's brother was the book-smart one, he has the experience and knowledge for this mission. While Jake is a soldier who is probably more used to taking orders and doing what he's told by a superior and not by someone who has no military background, like Dr. Augustine. Plus Jake was put into a whole new world. So it would be natural to want to explore said new world and to add on to this is with his naivete comes to having to learn new protocols.

As someone who has watched avatar literally over a thousand times i really wish they left in the intro scene to jake. Not only does it make him more badass and morally just (his actions with nateri can be taken as manipulative dubious consent. If we see that he beats actual rapists and sexual harassers to a pulp we know he isnt actually taking advantage of anyone in the tribe), but it gives us an incredible insight to the life back on earth and technologxal advancements. The movie IS NOT THE SAME without these urban scenes, especially the scenss based entirely in nature. It hits more seeing jake running and frolicking in the woods when we know back on earth he is paralyzed and there is no plant life at all, only concrete.
He's beating up people that deserve it. Way to go!

@Frida I think its because his intentions with the Navi at first were to get them to trust him so that they would leave home tree for the humans to take. His intentions werent pure and he only changed his mind when he fell in love with Neytiri but he was kinda using her and her people at first

Even during the video log before he shaved he questioned what he was doing and it showed conflict in himself. They grew to trust him, but he was slowly forgetting he had a mission for the RDA.

A huge contrast to how he was in The Way of Water.
People tend to change a lot over the years. The sequel takes place about 15 years after the first movie. Jake's not a young man anymore and it's a known fact that the older you get, the more you see the world differently than in your youth. Especially after you have children of your own: you can be carefree in your youth yet once you have a child you become strict.
