2024 Chevy Trax 1RS | BEST and Most Affordable SUV?!

  • In this video I drive the 2024 Chevy Trax 1RS finished in Nitro Yellow. The all new Trax is powered by a single powertrain, the 1.2l Turbo paired to a 6 speed auto. The RS trim comes in two varieties, the 1RS and 2RS. The 1RS is the cheaper option which gets you most of the aesthetic bits with fewer features such as smaller wheels, cloth seats, and no digital cluster with the smaller radio screen. With new vehicle pricing being sky high, this comes in at a very affordable, sub $24k mark as equipped which offers amazing value. Heck, it might be the most affordable vehicle to get heated steering wheel? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

    I test drove an RS model in the same color 3 days ago.
    I must say that I was very impressed overall with the build quality and drivability of the 3 cyl. Turbo . The Nitro Yellow looks much better in person.....
    Price, looks and size will make it a big seller.

    Overall, I think that this would be the model that I would buy. I can afford something more expensive but why spend more than you need (or want). I prefer the key start, the manual controls for the climate control and the analog gauges. I do like the 2RS rims better but I don’t mind these. I would like a power seat but since I am the only driver I can live with a manual seat, but I would try it out for comfort.

      The 18 inch rims in the 1RS will most likely provide you with a slightly better ride due to a slightly taller sidewall. I like the 1RS rims better personally.

    I think I like this model the best because of the looks and all. It's the best blend of equipment and things without all the black out like the Activ model gets and these wheels appeal to me more than the 2RS ones.

    Have an 1RS. Not a bad ride. Well for $23K, you get what you get. The 3 cylinder, yeahhhhh not the best motor. Getting the same MPG as the 20' Trax I've traded in. Chevy should've kept the 4 banger as the engine. LEDs should be throughout the car. Door panels and arm rest should be cushioned. But other than that and I understand the price checking measures that Chevy did, but overall a nice ride. Definitely getting your bang for your buck!!

      Fortunately the vehicle that I am driving is only 5 years old and has 41,000 miles on it. I have never liked it, but with the cost of vehicles it is not wise to get rid of it solely for that reason.

    I bought a 1RS last November.
    Till now it’s been 6 months. I took the car two times to the dealership cause electric issues with DRL lights and AC not working. First time the car spent 2 months in the dealer, after 9 days my car got back to the same issue.
    Now is in the dealer waiting for repair. 😶

    Just got myself a 1rs in black! I absolutly love the look and drive. I have abour 1200 miles on it. For some reason the rear drivers side window doesnt want to work 9 out of 10 times. The Onstar hotspot requirement for apple car play is stupid, and considering it is 25$ a month I will stick with my plug in. It is a 3 cylinder but for what you get it is pretty quick.

    I am really considering this vehicle for several reasons but mostly price point and MPG. I already bought a 2021 Trailblazer LT 1.3 I3 for my wife 2 years ago. The Trailblazer has had no problems so far, even with CVT transmission (my 1st experience with CVT). I am alternating between a 2002 Honda Civic LX getting 33/34 mpg per week and a 2003 Ford Escape 4WD XLT 3.0V6 that on her best days gives me 18/19 mpg a week. I love the gas milage of the Civic but the Escape has a much better ride. So, I assume the Trax will be very similar to the Trailblazer. Haven't seen one in person yet but looking forward to a test drive soon.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for the comment! The Trax does feel fairly similar to the Trailblazer with a little more room inside. One of the biggest differences is the newer tech but that is coming to the 2024 Trailblazer as well. You should be able to find these on lots shortly if not already as GM is producing many of them and shipping them over.

    I hate how this was just a "spend more on the 2RS model" video. The 1rs is a better value IMO. I dislike an all-digital dash. Any number of technical issues could cause your dash to go out.

      yeah kind of odd , i was looking at my window sticker and it says was assembled in Korea, mine is a summit white 1RS, $23455 out the door. We bought it as a second car due to an accident. I really wasnt looking to get a car as our main car is a big SUV and is only 2 years old. Honestly its my first GM car in 30+ years and I have to say the fit and finish and quality of assembly are better than the 2017 Mazda CX5 it replaces. Whether it will be reliable long term who knows, but we plan on having it for the teenagers to drive in a few years. Based on this I am hoping the new electric Blazer will be out with the bugs worked out by then. I saw that at an autoshow and really like the look of it
