    Having working in celtics clothing, it cost the club between £18 & £25 to buy from the suppliers the fact that we sell it at £70-£80 is vile.

    This seasons away kit is the nicest I think we’ve ever had in my 38 years of life, it’s stunning!

  • @Torky1965
    @Torky1965 Před rokem +3

    The kit price rise is a big bone of contention with me Hamish and the training gear £100 for that Celtic hoodie £70 for jogging bottoms and a t-shirt and £50 for a pair of shorts it's scandalous then 4 tops at £65 so if you buy all of those that's £550 and if as in my case you buy for grandsons that's multiplied by 6 that's £3300 then there's the season tickets on top £3252 that's £6552 I'm shelling out per season and that's not including TV subscriptions Cup games Champions League packages and now they want to put the price of the kit up. Then there's travelling expenses to and from the stadium and if you're lucky enough to get a ticket to go to away Champions League games it all mounts up plus the fuel and energy price hikes and your looking at a Lottery win to keep up. Where's the club's charity ethos for it's own support the Celtic name adds at least £50 to anything we've to fork out already. I've had this out with the club before and their line is it's competitively priced but that's bollocks we're being ripped off there's no other word for it. I know some will say if we want success then we have to pay it, or don't pay it if you think it's too much but that's just evading the issue that the club are ripping their own supporters off. It's no wonder people buy the fake stuff but that's almost always poor quality from what I've seen so what are we supposed to do? I know this isn't your fault Hamish I'm just venting here but I'd be interested to see what other supporters think HH

    Thanks for raising these issues Hamish. I doubt the split fixtures are any accident. The SFA & SPFL are petty enough to not want us getting our title clincher at home! Really poor but not a surprise. The SFA needs to be cleared out from top to bottom, spring cleaning if you like? Between our SFA & sky our game has been ruined. Makes me so angry. Also the Adidas situation too. As a collector of kits, I find it shocking that we are getting totally fleeced by both Adidas & Celtic! I think there has been 5 or 6 full training ranges this season on top of the 4 kits ....me n Stevie going to be bankrupt 😳

    The split in its current format should be abandoned, as it's pretty much an anticlimax each year.
    Instead, the league should end after each team plays each other twice and a 'Minor premier' should be declared and a 'Major premiership' competition should start.
    Here the top six teams would enter a (sort of) play off against each other to see who becomes the 'Major premier'.
    This at least would make the ending of the league season more exciting, as the winner of the 'Major premiership' wouldn't be decided until the last game of the season.
    It could be modelled on the Australian NRL Major premiership competition.
    The 'Major premier' would be the big prize and qualify the winner for the Champions League (assuming this is the appropiate competition) and the 'Minor premier' would be a minor prize, which qualifies the winner for Europe also. Only clubs that qualify for the 'Major Premiership' competition would be eligible to play in Europe. But, the competition could be made even more exciting if the bottom six teams also played off and the winner of these play-offs then played the bottom Europe qualifying team in the 'Major premiership' competition for the last place in Europe 😀.
    Think about it bhoys, Celtic would win four instead of three domestic trophies a year if this idea were adopted 😀.

      I’m in Australia and I hate the finals system here ,in Aussie rules about 5 years ago the 8th placed team ( Footscray) won the premiership it’s a joke

    • @davidbrisbane7206
      @davidbrisbane7206 Před rokem

      @@gerardmcbryde3156
      I propose the top six. Plus, if you are minor premiers, you can lose your first game and still become major premiers. Also, it's the weakest teams against the strongest teams in the early rounds, so you are pretty unlucky to go out early if you are in the top two. Also, it's not too bad a system in the sense that the teams that finish the league strongest have an edge in the major premiership. To suit the timetable, home and away matches could be played. You'd need to be really good under these circumstances to knock off one to the two highest placed minor premiership teams.
      As things stand now, we'll just go through the motions to crown Celtic champions. Not exciting. Not exciting at all.

      Ps. Aussie rules is a joke of a game. Giant elliptical pitches and points awarded for a near miss. It's pejoratively known as "Poofter ball". No offence intended. It's aimed at the game and not the players.

      @@davidbrisbane7206 Aussie rules is anything butpoofter ball like most football codes it can be great when teams are well matched and also very grueling to play next topic no Celtic fans would trust any Scottish referees to referee a system that you propose end off sectarianism is rife in Scotland most of the refs support rangers

    • @davidbrisbane7206
      @davidbrisbane7206 Před rokem +1

      @@gerardmcbryde3156
      I was mostly kidding you about Aussie Rules. I lived and worked in Melbourne (a great city) for 18 months. It's nearly impossible to avoid the game there!
      I take your point about sectarianism not ending anytime soon between Rangers and Celtic fans and it doesn't have much, if anything, to do with the performance of referees, whose performance is transparent and can be objectively monitored by its association and the SFA.
      If you solicit a reason why both sets of fans want things to remain the way they are, then they'll tell you that it 'enhances' the experience of the game for them. Maybe so. But it means fans can't attend each others grounds and the Old Firm can't play exhibition matches all over the world cashing in big time. The cash they could bring in from such matches could be five times (each) as much as is paid for winning the SPL.
      I haven't been to any AFL games, but in Sydney, you can board a train wearing your NRL's team colours full of rival supporters with your kids and expect nothing to happen to your family. Not much like that in Glasgow right?
      The 'Good Friday' agreement ended the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Rangers and Celtic could end this sectarianism nonsense if they wanted to, but they don't. They both display staggering cognitive dissonance by standing up to racism by not sectarianism.
