Lyrics:
Consumed in a vortex, beheld the celestial wrath
With our spirits aligned, we immersed in evenfall
Engrossed in infinity, congealed in perpetual spleen
In consciousness remained, the universe’s final call
At the edge of time, a convergent entity
Erased in blackness, obtained eternal path
In our shivers sublime, we collapsed in crimson sprawl
Enthralled in sparkling loss, transcend in eternal gleam
Annihilation unbound, in maenadic velocity
Rise, convergent black star, revive from life into decay
Dissolve in cosmic seas, enthralled to strain the burden
As an anthem of life and death, as an epitaph of all light
Solo: R. Trujillo / S. Kummerer
Our last funeral, redeemed sustaining the vortex
Drowning down eclectic bliss, we remain relieved in deliverance
Music by Steffen Kummerer

Germany’s progressive death metal masters OBSCURA complete their long-running, four-album conceptual circle with the release of Diluvium (defined as a great oceanic flood), their most evocative, diverse and vibrant release to date. Recorded with longtime producer V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence) at Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany, Diluvium is a stunning achievement for the illustrious quartet and a landmark release for progressive metal as a whole. Complete with all the band's signature elements plus groundbreaking polyrhythms, dramatic songwriting, and jaw-dropping virtuosity, OBSCURA raise the bar once again with an album that will go down in the annals of metal history as one of the most astonishing performances the genre has to offer.
Where is the "love button" ?
This has to be one of your favorite songs from this album.
It's my least favorite on the album. Lmao. The two best for me as of right now are Etherial Skies and Mortification of the Vulgar Sun. Steffen's songs are the only ones in my estimation that aren't masterful. But that's not because of all the beef people have with him, that's just me trying to be as honest as I can on my feelings about the music separating it from the people writing it. Just happens to be the case.
My 2 favorites on this album as well. MotVS killed live on this tour.
@@jamespeterson4275 i agree with mortification and skies but emergent evolution is just beautiful
Same here!
@@jamespeterson4275 What beef to people have with Steffen?
Another emotional solo for this song! 2:31
the other half of the solo is steffen's, its really cool how their styles are so different and yet they compliment each other really well
lol
emotional lol
This is my favorite song off the album! I love the vocoder and the guitar leads!
This is my favorite from my favorite album of the year.
Awesome production, amazing songwriting. Masterpiece indeed !
Bravo Obscura !
this my favourite band!
I like how they've managed to nail this Omnivium-vibe again, which actually got me into their stuff in the first place. I missed it and luckily it's back on this album. That's some great news and of course great work on their part as well. This really is better than Akroasis tbh.
I agree with everything you said.
masterpiece!
The riffs on this new song are awesome
wow you can really tell the difference in tightness of guitarist in different recordings. being Rafael did not record on Akroasis I'd say Steffen recorded this song as it sounds similar to the previous album which isnt a bad thing.. However the guitars on Diluvium and Clandestine Stars sounds really tight and brutal, Id guess Rafael recorded them.
Yep, this song was recorded by Steffen, minus the solo, while Diluvium and Clandestine Stars were recorded by Rafael.
Authentic masterpiece
the only one sounding old obscura cosmogenesis
Guitar solo from 3:10 is like Christian Muenzner’s
its steffen
in an interview he talks about how christians style influenced the leads and things he would do on akroasis (specifically with the solo in sermon of the seven suns) , and i guess here too, he starts playing more melodically and implementing things that christian does
Just Great!
I cant wait for them to play in 4 weeks!!!
🤘 🤘
👍👍👍👍👍
Epic
The first riff sounds like Akrøasis
holy fuck i'm crying
see you in December
I just wish they reprised the arpeggio in the few opening seconds.
The main riff is very similar to akroasis main riff XD
