exactly, as Ubisoft always does. The background surrounding these recruits shown in this gameplay is AWESOME. In game, there are actually 5 simple story backgrounds they repeat exhaustively... so sad

Typical Ubisoft downgrade: bit of a shame though.
I am suprised,that none of youtubers or bloggers didn't mention that. The graphic and mechanic itself is downgraded too. The city on e3 looks so alive and different lighting and etc.. Really shame

If I am not mistaken its CQC - Close Quarter Combat or CQB Close Quarter Battle. Actually the first time I heard someone mention it was in Metal Gear Solid 3 or maybe even MGS1

I honestly love how this was the original concept and this is how it used to work. I'd love to do it the way it was. And I'd love to play as Ian. He was a great mate.
AND when you meet Jimmy at the pub, it's an actual in game cutscene. Not the side to side stuff you see nowadays. I'm proud and grateful to have the current version but this is where it was actually very real. It's awesome. I wish I was able to play it this way.

Looking back at this video, it's interesting (and sad) to see the difference in what was advertised versus what we got. As far as general gameplay, they effectively delivered on pretty much everything, which is a miracle. But the place where they over-embellished is undoubtedly the characters and narrative. These characters were more compelling in this short gameplay showcase than the "characters" I played as throughout the whole game.
Of course, it would be ridiculous to expect them to be able to give us a few million named characters with unique personalities. But at the end of the day, that's the problem with the whole premise isn't it? It's impossible to deliver on "play as anyone" while also giving us a compelling narrative, because said narrative is being driven by soulless avatars with no character to speak of because the end goal was so ambitious that it reached beyond the scope of what any gane developer could be realistically expected to achieve.
This honestly could've been a good opportunity to introduce a player-created character as if it were an RPG. Have the "Legion" aspect be the ability to recruit, but not play as, anyone. Like AC Brotherhood with all the Assassins you can recruit.
Also, took me a bit to place Naomi's actress until I realized she's the same as Mina Sidhu. She sounds so different without the personality she plays in the game. Wish we had this version of her voice instead of the one we have.

Americans just think that if you're from the UK you either live in London or have some kind of divine connection with it. They only know 2 accents, the over-exaggerated cockney "gangster, in the pub, West Ham hooligan" accent or the posh received pronunciation accent. There's even more accents within London never mind the rest of the UK which they hadn't considered. If this was a game in America though they'd make sure that the characters don't sound the same e.g Franklin, Trevor and Micheal in GTA V don't sound exactly the same
As amazing as this concept seems, I can't help but realize the limitations they're probably working with. I don't fault the developers for this but, after a while you're going to notice some characters have the exact same personality and voice lines. It just isn't physically possible to make every character unique when literally every NPC in the game is playable. Great idea, just extremely hard to execute effectively.

Well you were right. The game is fantastic, but unfortunately the characters don't show as much emotion and don't look as good now. It was just too ambitious. That said, the game itself is still fantastic ,and definitely worth a play.

Charactors always saying something of the situation they are in right now, and sometimes my other operatives do respond to what my charactor has said and they have a little chat together.
And people do fight back against Albion, this happens all the time in the game, espacially when u increase the will of the people to fight back, by doing these resistance missions.

There are many many different perks you can give the characters but there are 3 classes and you can choose which character is which class. The classes are hacker, infiltrator and forcer or something

I seriously doubt that the game really has a check for who helped Jimmy in the first encounter, check for what happened to him, and then ask the question in a cut scene. I think a lot of what we saw in this trailer is much more scripted than in the game. And they use names for each other constantly. Are you saying that they voice recorded thousands of names for each voice actor? Like... Jimmy could be called Rob, Ian could have been a woman etc.

The one we have was alright but was lacking alot of things like proper voice acting, a good story, characters that didnt felt like you're average npc, good UI, better missions, inworld encounters and random events.
Im not sure if its a good idea but i wish later in the future they could maybe rebuild legion to something better, or make something similar to this.
Its sad we didnt get this legion
Promisises watch dogs legion needs to fix.
•more Personal passive perks with personal perks
•sharing or at least crafting lethal weapons for all characters.
•good animations for non lethal options.

Well, Ubi became rly good at creating tourism simulators.
