Nice to see you back. We never been work almost 3 months now. Very slow and we planning to quit after greg got a surgery removed his gallbladder.
HEY Allen , .... I GLAD you are "hanging in" there ..... The entire world is "upside down" right now, and for the foreseeable future, SADLY !!! CRAZY ass times we are living in .... A man has to do, whatever is needed, to get though it, till BETTER TIMES come around, again !! Look forward to more videos, brother ..... Be safe out there on the road !

Damn bro glad to see you back!!!
Hey welcome back bud, u have some of the best information out there on getting started as an owner operator, I’m looking for a new ford transit or Mercedes sprinter and 100% there’s no deals out there, 60k-70k! For either one
I feel you on the van search! Frustrating the way it is. Appreciate you!
thankk you for coming back man we miss you
I appreciate that. Thank you.
Glad you are still around Allan because I missed your videos but family and running your business needs to come before making videos so I pray that your efforts were successful. As someone who has been making baby steps towards getting into this industry I have found you channel to be a wealth of great info. The one thing I wish I could find regular info on is market rates for this sector of the industry. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one that would enjoy regular short (3-5mins) market reports a few times a month.
Thank you. I'll see what I can do.
Allen Welcome Back Man
glad to see you back. stay safe Allen.

Hi allen, good to see you back, I'm the semi truck driver that met you at the petro in Perrysburg last summer. I spoke with you on the phone last winter to let you know I was interested in buying a van and putting in on with you. Well I bought a 2023 Ford 350 extended transit about a month ago and paid sticker price, that was here in detroit. I have since brought it down to reds custom designs and had him do quite a bit of work on it. I'm still in my semi, figure I'll keep driving it until things get a little bit better.i'll be in touch then, good luck to you
Why would you want to get out of a big truck into a van?
@@Invictus13666 me too i wanna know why ..
@@Invictus13666 - I know ya didn't ask me, but having driven both a truck and a cargo van maybe I can help some. With the understanding there's no right or wrong here- that it's personal choice, I would go with a cargo van.
Advantages of cargo van:
No HOS. There's a set amount of hours you can drive, be in service, etc in a truck. It makes the 200 mile runs not worth it. The reason is you really can't get another run that day because you won't have enough hours. In a cargo van you can take any load that's profitable, and still get another one later that day.
Cargo vans also allow you to travel a bit when you're not running. In a truck you're pretty much stuck at a truck stop, rest area, or shipping/receiving docks. Cargo vans also tend to be more comfortable. Even with air suspension, those trucks can mess with your back. The ones I drove jarred me around pretty good. Parking is much easier in a cargo van. There's times when the truck stops are full for the night. So ya have to drive to the next place, and so on. That's not usually a problem with cargo vans.
Advantages of truck:
You'll probably make more $$. That's not a sure thing, but ya probably will. Trucks can hold a lot more freight. That's obvious, but it means you'll have more chances for loads in a given area. You'll have more space for your belongings in a truck than you will a van.
Again, I'm not saying I'm right for everyone. Just for me. I would take a bit less $$ and not have to worry about the HOS. The comfort of the vehicle and the parking are smaller reasons, but the big PITA for me is the HOS.
@@dannyd8625 good points. I was reflexively thinking of only money/freight and wasn’t thinking about the things you mentioned 👍🏽
One of my favorite expediter is back!!
That's right!! Let's do this!
Thanks for the video missed you
Much appreciated!
Respectfully, you gotta know when to fold'em. It is rough out here. Would encourage anyone to get into any part of this industry. Unfortunately, the rates will probably only get better once there are fewer vans/trucks available. Blessings to all.
Hopefully, those who are not able to sustain a profit will know when to park it.
I'm driving my life away
You a REAL ASS MAN m, u keep it a stack with us… unlike these other fools ❗️❗️❗️
Only way I know!! People's livelihood is affected by what I share. Thank you! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Welcome back load master….
My guy! Hope all is well. Thank you!
Im from Ohio myself it’s always a blessing in ohio brother . I’ve had a few dispatchers contact me about delivering. I’m looking for a van and it’s expensive 50k 60k just for a use one 🥴 so I’m still looking.Stay blessed brother .
Where in Ohio? Yes, the vans are crazy priced!
I pull a reefer and some of the rates are insulting. Im blessed my overhead is low. Feel bad for the guys with payments. Good luck everyone, hold on.
U r honest man
Yep. I'm getting ready to get out of expediting. Rates are horrible. So are these fuel prices
Keep us to the curb. Just messing with You welcome back Man.
🤣🤣 I know, right!? It's criminal how I did all of you! Appreciate you!
No money in o.t.r. no more the money is local delivery and courier
Each person has to find their sweet spot. For you it's local/regional.
@@EverythingApax for me its local/Regional.. I HATE IT. I love the road.. I need the road..
I'll be hitting road end of May. Have worked hard in Manufacturing for over 36 years 30 with one company. I understand hard work and dedication and time constraints. Hoping to fit in. Not looking to get rich just trying to make honest living let you all.
Absolutely possible. Be mindful of the research process.
Hey. I like your videos. I have a question about picking a van vs. a straight truck vs. tractor. Seems like tractors would be best for load availability and lifestyle. Being OTR in a sprinter has to be rough. Why go that route? With no logs, seems like youre getting no protection against being run ragged. That wouldn't be so bad if the money was better, but it seems to be a bit worse. Am I missing something?
One thing I’ve always liked about you Allen, is that your a genuine person both on and off camera/social media. Only had the pleasure of chatting with you on the phone once, but your advice is always sound, honest and for the better good of the person your giving it to. Can’t say that for ALOT of the so called “Gurus” out here taking advantage of those less knowledgeable to benefit themselves. When you started ranting about certain players in this game, 2 people came to mind lmao. I’ll give you a clue both are from cities that Start with “C” and their names are both 5 letters long and ironically start with “J” 😂😂 I know you know! Anyways, thank you for what you bring to the industry and thanks even more for being the one who genuinely wants to help people. You are and always will be the GOAT to many of us out here.
😏 If you know you know! Lol. I truly appreciate everything you said, and I take pride in doing what I can to help.
Expediting is pretty much the same as the spot market in trucking. There was a high demand for drivers and trucks during Covid because a bunch were just staying home. Covid slowed and the market has slowly worked its way back and there are now a ton of drivers and trucks flooding the market. If you must have steady loads right now it is probably best to sign on with a national company that have the direct accounts to keep their trucks loaded and drivers moving. One off loads and the high rates that go along with it are gone. At least until another plannedemic hits.
I seen u once in detroit.. u were in and rolling out fast. U might as well been in a corvette. It was at a stellantis.... keep on rolling bro...
U gave me enough time too say hey is that ! And you were gone.
I work a Sat/Sun/Mon job. Can I work as a owner operator cargo driver Tue-Fri and be profitable? Also make sure I’m back home by Fri so I can work my weekend job? I’m afraid I will get stuck on the road and not have a load back. I’m scared of taken that risk. I will likely have to do OTR, because I don’t live in busy area.
That driver that was stuck in Atlanta which is a major market could of easily jumped on the “ Dispatch it “ , “ go share“ , “ frayt “ apps and made some money instead of complaining about not getting a load for 2 days. Also they’re plenty of courier companies that operate nation wide but y’all overlook those ..The courier, cargo van business isn’t slowing down. It’s yall with all the excuses… Respectfully
Allen. It’s good to see you back brother. And yes, rates out here are garbage, which tells me that someone’s pockets are getting lined, because mine aren’t. Anyway, good to see you man.
As a cargo van driver. I can confirm. My pockets are staying stuffed daily for the last 2 months I've been doing this. Fuq brokies doing jobs less than $1per mile.
And the people telling others to do the same.
@light0000 Enlighten us on your situation. I'm sure all of are willing to hear good advice.
Hey Allen. I am about to sign as a independent contractor with a company located in FL and they said they give consistent loads at $1-$1.30 for loads that are good areas and .70-$1.00 for bad areas. Should I sign with this company and give it a shot this summer. I am about to get a Mercedes sprinter 2017 used at 32k mileage and for $34000. It is a diesal and extended high roof. What are your thoughts on the rates with the company, and the van I am getting in a few weeks. As well as the PNW(pacific northwest). I am located in Portland and going to be going all over hopefully. They do offer much more for box trucks and straight trucks. Please let me know.
I spy a shelled out cargo area. Can I ask how you’re sleeping and also what happened to your dedicated ride all tricked out in the rear?
Glad to see that your back. You have really helped my wife and I. Thank you
I'm happy to know I could offer any help. I hope you both are doing well.
It's money out here. You have to hustle. I make great money. You have to multiple app and grind. I'm in the industry. You have to master your craft.
I've been hanging in there .... ran a while company for a guy who didnt know anything and the truck already broke down. Dealing with people i dispatch for not paying. Shady brokers double brokered loads. Its wild !!! Have a guy goimf from Houston texas to north dakota nervous about finding loads back monday drop Sunday😊
Keep grinding! Good luck!
The Duck Plucker cost you a lot of time and money training him.
You should not be paying anyone for referrals, or anything like hat for this type of business. All the info you need is out here for free you just have to look. Get yourself a long wheel base high roof van with 2-3 dispatch companies, and realize it's better to be moving at a lower rate than sitting for 2 days trying to get that homerun rate every load.
Absolutely. Great video bro
Much appreciated!!!
the way it is rumored that freight is heckin' slow, there is no need for one feel too bad about sitting out?
True. Volume and rates are down, so unless you have a very solid plan I'd suggest holding off.
Salute from Dayton ohio.
Hello, Ohio homie!
Anybody on the spot market right now is a bottom feeder especially general freight.. I’m still hanging in there but carriers have to stand there ground right now. Squeeze all the juice out of lemon.. these brokers are holding us to the flame right now because they can. You are right volumes are way down and too many mc. God bless everybody and only the Strong and low cost is gonna survive this storm, unfortunately.
Rates are in toilet. And then flushed. Was in NYC area for like a week and a half just locals, dispatch, Frayt, found a direct customer just to stay afloat. Must have bid a million loads at dumb low prices and nothingggg. .7 from NY TO CA and somebody going lower is crazy…. (Thru dispatch company)
Van is expensive in California
Should I buy or wait
As far as these van people it’s very possible that they make the money they claim. Some are with a courier and use five different delivery apps that operate 24/7. Most are working 18 to 20 hours a day.
I know there is great money in the right situation.
Its been nonstop over here. Been hauling CATs crap allover the place.
Why do you think it's so bad now? Inflation?
Another great video Allen. You have the heart of a teacher. I respect you greatly. I am very happy to see you promoting your own business in this video! Do not be shy about continuing to doing this. There is tremendous value in your content. There is a difference between charging for legitimate value, and trying to scam people like those you mentioned. We know you’re not out to scam anyone. I will say having multiple streams of income is wise. Promoting products and services you believe in as an example may be a good way of doing that. I think finding a mix between free content and paid content maybe helpful. Either way I hope we meet on the road and wish you the best. Keep your head up.
I was looking for the video you made regarding fitting the plywood and rails on the cargo floor.
Can you give me Title of that video or point me to the link of that ?!
I am about to do the floor in my van and I remember you gave some great pointers in that vid.
Thanks in advance and look forward to your reply.
You ever find it? Apologies for being so behind on my comments
Hey welcome back Mr. Paxton!!
I ran into a Barrett driver and ask him where you been he said you got new videos out! One good thing about it being slow right now is that it gives me time to binge watch all your videos!!
Keep it safe out there and welcome back!
Thank you
might be a good time to refinance one's rig, eh?
😲
Dallas is still okay but don't go anywhere else in Texas! I just sat for 3 days in Houston before dead heading back to Dallas and got something in just a few hours up there. Also I wouldn't say that things are a whole lot better at the big carriers. I know somebody that left XPO recently because he said he just couldn't get any work. Personally I'm with what I consider to be the best of the big carriers by far and I'm still struggling mightily. It's doggy dog out here for sure and there's no end in sight. I was on the verge of adding a van or two of my own and searching for drivers, now everything's on hold for the foreseeable future. Much like you I'm not going to hire somebody and set them off in a cargo van when they're only going to make $4-500 a week living on the road. What I still turn the profit? A little. Would a driver go bankrupt trying to work for that? Unless they were homeless to begin with for sure.
I understand 100%. We will see the other side of this. Stay strong!
Personal credit score determines your finance rate, insurance rate predominately
I agree, although if someone isn't mindful of the other aspects and tips it can negatively affect the pricing/cost.
Welcome back duck plucker
That darn duck plucker!!
If you need a driver I’m looking to drive for a fleet owner. I have one year experience otr I live in Indiana.
Oh great. I’m on my way to Atlanta lol
Darn it!! Lol. Maybe you'll be the good luck charm. Lol
Can you explain me how much make money a week i wants start thi business please
So, is this a bad time to get into expediting? I am very interested in doing this, and I do not need a full income. I just really enjoy being on the road, and yes I would like to supplement my income. I am located just outside of Nashville, TN. I would love to be able to expedite around the SE, NE, and Mid-West. I would love to hear your thoughts on my situation. I do enjoy your straight talk, I am not the type to sit around listening to BS! Looking forward to your reply…
If like trucking, the market is oversaturated in vans and freight volume is low, just like he stated in the beginning of the video. You need direct customers. I parked my truck, and am working as a driver for a carrier with direct shippers. It is no different in this van freight. If you want to get into this, wait until the market has collapsed, and then get in. I would not right now. You would be better off doing handyman work or something like that in your local area.
Lmao, are you paying attention on what’s he saying? No is the answer and he is not the only one saying this ! Browse CZcams not just his channel!
@amargacanica1042 you're 100% correct. Go and search out more information.
Go into Canada and back. You can charge more. That Expedite travels guy said he made 5k last week. He’s been around a long time, so I think it’s legit. Also Expediting America has videos on here. He’s doing very well. He pays this dispatch service that finds him good loads.
I'm familiar with both. Thank you! How are things going for you?
@@EverythingApax I am working like a animal as a stat courier and occasionally use Miller’s Express sprinter to do shuttles. I got shit canned at my other job. When they cut my pay $1000 a week to bring on board two new drivers they expected me to sit around the house for a call to cover a local route. I just didn’t answer the phone one day and they fired me from the night run. I lost $2k a week plus $400 every other weekend. Now I have to work all night for $1.68 a mile because it’s .94 cents loaded from 7am to 10pm. I still do a few day runs from 4pm on, but try to do majority of miles after 10pm. This far only one $2,100 check and one $1,100.00. About 5 just under a thousand.
Birmingham to Detroit right now.
Nice! WV - IN here
Where you been bro lol
😲
Have you thought about up grading to box trucks ?
Yes, I have. Once the economy turns in the right direction I'll look more into it.
Yeah that’s the only reason I’m scared of jumping I in ti the business
Interest rates and stock market, when their down
Expedite is down.
There is definitely a correlation
STICK WITH US DELIVERY!!!!! 😂
😲😲🤣🤣🤣
I think if you are a Christian ✝️ you will always have loads and will be blessed. God Jesus blesses his children ❤ I have seen lately that the Christians are staying very busy with the good loads and rates ✝️🙏❤️
Thank you.
Why are you bringing religion into this
@@EverythingApax nice welcome back
What do you mean bring God and religion into it gods is in everything God takes care of his children ye must be born again
I understand but being born again does not attribute to sucrss
Atlanta died off this year
It's been very slow
