- 5 THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE ON OASIS OF THE SEAS & what I'll be doing differently this time to have a better cruise experience// Have you wondered if Oasis of the Seas is for you? Is the Royal Caribbean mega ship too big? Will it feel crowded? In this video I share the things I thought were great, and NOT great about my first cruise on an Oasis class cruise ship.
However, since Oasis of the Seas has been Amplified in 2019, I thought it was time for a redo! These are the changes I've made and will be making as I cruise on Oasis one more time. We talk drink packages, cruise cabins, excursions, dining and more!

I just got the cruise planner! I'm going on my VERY first cruise! Great channel! Not only am I learning a lot, but it's helping me look forward to my cruise!
How exciting!! I’m so glad the videos and planner are helping you get ready for your cruise 🎉
Hi! My husband and I are on the same cruise!!! Looking forward to be back on ship! We've been on Allure and loved it. It can be overwhelming, but I think your tips are great. Scheduling relaxing time is key. It's hard when there is so much to do. No matter what, even with so much going on, still better than working!!! Safe travels and maybe we'll cross paths during the cruise.
Absolutely!! Very true it’s never a bad cruise in any case. You’re right - planning relaxing time is important. On most cruise ships you don’t think about it, but on a ship with so much to do you definitely have to! Hope to say hi on the cruise 👍
We're in the laid back cruiser catagory, too. We pick our favorite things to schedule and save the rest for another cruise, plan one port day on the ship to explore and relax, and leave time for a few spur of the moment, impulse, fun things.
Sounds great!! Good advice there Mark 👌
Thanks for the perspective. We had thought it would be fun to have a cabin facing the “city” but you make a very good point about missing the sea experience that way so we’ll reconsider
My pleasure Kathryn. You know best what you’ll enjoy. It was still a “cool” cabin and the most unique view, but yes we did need more sea lol
I am going on the oasis a third time and I still plan on doing things I wasn’t able to do the first two times. This truly is a huge boat.
We have sailed on the Oasis twice and we loved both times. The things you mentioned we thought of and we adjusted and booked what we wanted. For example a balcony stateroom. We love the being able to see the ocean from our balcony so we never gave a thought to book one of the balconies facing the inside of the ship. A little of pre-thought of our likes and dislikes went a long way for us. And, since we have cruised several times before we knew we would not be able to do or see or experience everything on board this ship in one cruise. So we did not try to over plan everything and just did what we really wanted to do or see. One of our stops was in Nassau the Bahama's, we have been here several times and stayed on board the ship at this stop to enjoy the empty ship. Something your viewers might take advantage of if they have been at a stop several times. Just a thought.
Awesome!! I’ve heard others say the same or similar about Nassau. I usually like to give a destination one look at least, but that’s good advice for others who have been
Oasis is going to be my first cruise! Feb 2022 sailing out of Miami! I’m so excited hopefully we all enjoy our upcoming trips. Thank you for the information. 🤗🤗
Amazing first cruise! Truly one of the very best cruise ships, despite the fact that I tried to do too much my first time on this ship. I’ll share more once onboard so feel free to let me know any questions
Maybe my favorite cruise video ever. I love Oasis class but feel your take to be pretty accurate - long on activities and specialty dining, short on quality in MDR. Most valuable is your evolved attitude and your illustration of taking the responsibility of being tbe captain of your own cruise experience. Very, very sage advice.
Thanks Bill! So glad that you felt the video was fair, even though you love this ship! I love your analogy as well
Hi Ilana, my mom and I are scheduled to sail on Allure of the Seas in March 22, it will be her first ever cruise and my second. Well that is if my first cruise aboard Celebrity Edge in October goes as planned, fingers crossed. Mom loved RC's eastern Caribbean itinerary and liked that Allure had a lot of dining and entertainment options. We also booked a cabin with an ocean view balcony, to be able to get away from everything if we feel overwhelmed. Good to know with so many people you didn't feel crowded, as I was concerned about that. Hope you enjoy your sailing!
Beautiful cruise!! I’m sure you’re going to love Edge as well - different experiences but 2 great cruise lines. I think the ocean view balcony was a great idea 💡
Wow we vacation completely differently. I am more excited about this ship now. Great video.
Been on the Oasis of the Sea .. it’s so large .. but so much fun ..
Great to hear!!! I agree a very fun ship
It's the same thing with cruises. Our first was a Mediterranean in 2015. It was great. There was a different port every day which we loved. But, it was get up, breakfast, excursion, dinner, sleep. Rinse, repeat. We didn't see anything of the ship and what we could do.
Our next was relaxing a Caribbean one with plenty of sea days. Loved it! We now prioritize sea days over ports.
It’s so true. I feel like a med itinerary the focus, for many of us, is ports and travel. Where as Caribbean is a bit resort like with relaxing and fun times. Personally I prefer a mid size ship for port intensive itineraries
@@LifeWellCruised My best cruise was from Vancouver to Hawaii in 20219. 10 sea days! Yay!
We have our first oasis class cruise next month. Have been wanting to do this size for awhile now. We also booked a boardwalk room for the same reason you listed. Hopefully we can still see the ocean in back from our room.
We were on the Oasis in 2019. We absolutley loved our holiday and are booked on the sister ship, the Allure for July 2022 out of Barcelona. I probably would not have enjoyed it if I were on a Boardwalk Balcony Cabin. The mini-suites are very well appointed and larger than on most other ships and offer a nice size balcony to boot with open sea views.
If you are a seafood devotee, they have a wonderful tower of seafood at Chops Grille and fab lobster bisque. I know it is a steak house but I gear towards seafood. Many others, we know, state the steaks are just as good as the Crown Grill on Princess. My only suggestion is wear a light jacket, sweater or wrap. I found the a/c a wee bit cold for my taste.
Giovanni's was a delight for Italian and we ate alfresco surrounded by the passerbyes in Central Park.
If Sabor's is still a venue on the Oasis, give it a whirl for margarita's and super delish Mexican food.
I love all your tips & suggestions Veronica!! Chops Grille sounds like a plan. My husband is more into steak, and I love seafood 🦞. Have a great cruise on Allure!!
I’ll be sailing on the Oasis on September 26th. This will be my 60th cruise, only 30 minutes from the port. I’ve been on many Royal ships but never an Oasis class. I have a Handicapped Ocean View Balcony. After watching many CZcams videos of this ship I think I’ll be renting a scooter! Sea you on board! 😃
Wow!!! 60 cruises 🙌🙌🙌!! Yes, I think a scooter is a good idea. Honestly, it is a very very big ship. Hope to say hi onboard!!
Definitely rent a scooter. They are not that expensive and well worth it. I get one for every cruise because I have a really bad right knee that swells up and very painful if I walk to much. Contact Special Needs and they will tell you the name of the scooter service that will deliver it to the ship.
My wife and I will be on the 26th too
Booking a balcony cabin is a perfect idea... sometimes all the activities can be overwhelming and your very own balcony is shalaxing!
I think so too. Normally I don’t mind not having a balcony, but on “busy” ships I love some “shalaxing” 😂. Love this!!!
@@LifeWellCruised 😁😉
We were in a Boardwalk balcony on Harmony in November 2019. I felt the same about missing the ocean view from the cabin. The room was surprisingly quiet and we felt that the ship didn’t feel crowded even given its large passenger capacity. The one downside to the balcony cabins on the Boardwalk or Central Park is their lack of privacy. It’s not the privacy from guests walking below that’s a concern but from cabins across from you. You can literally be on your balcony and see completely into someone else’s cabin. If they don’t draw the curtains you could inadvertently see more than you like which happened to us early on in the cruise (lady literally changing into her bathing suit with no curtains drawn). We never actually sat on our balcony after that due to that lack of privacy issue. We also kept the filmy white curtains closed pretty much all the time as a privacy screen. One last issue was that they placed the gym kind of in the bowels of the ship. Unlike usual gym placement at the top, there were no panoramic windows to look out of and watch the sea when you’re on the cardio machines, but rather smaller windows interspersed. I loved the ship as a whole and the entertainment was a notch above typical cruise shows. The solarium area was so peaceful and not having to pay extra to access it was for us the ship’s biggest plus. We plan to do an Oasis class ship again but will make sure it’s with an ocean balcony.
Sounds like we had a similar experience. I laughed out loud, literally, as I read about the lady 😂
Hubby and I enjoyed a cocktail at Señor Frogs in Nassau. Great atmosphere and seeing your ship in the background was quite memorable
That sounds right up my alley 👌. Love this recommendation!! Thanks Ann
Good info thank you for sharing your experience it is very helpful
Me and my husband are going on Oasis In Dec . We just did the Explorer and loved it and wanted to try the bigger ship. We are obsessed with watching the water and hearing it. Thank god we have an ocean balcony . I didn't realize how much this was lacking in ocean views. I'm glad we are trying a big ship at least once but will defiantly pick ships that see more of the water for future cruises.
We are booked on the Navigation of the Seas. It's our first time on Royal Caribbean... looking forward to it. Thank you for all your excellent suggestions. The phone lanyard is perfect 👍
The Navigator of the Seas was my first cruise and I love that class of ship so much!! It’s got so many amazing features & a beautiful ship too. Glad the phone lanyard was a good suggestion:)
@@LifeWellCruised I'm super anxious to get on board !
luved the Oasis! Lots to do day and night, with lots of variety. Sailed January before lockdown. We like action packed vacations! We spent our time in the adult area
Sounds like a lot of fun!!
Thanks Ilana great video keep up the good work
Thanks John! So glad you enjoyed the video :)
Good advice on pre-buying packages for less… but important to keep an eye on price changes. We purchased dining, Wi-Fi and beverage packages. Three weeks later the prices had dropped. We called and the refunded the earlier purchase and gave us the new prices. Between the two of us it was almost $400 savings! Really liked this video. We are going on Oasis in September. Never been on this class but I realize now there is a LOT more to do than on smaller RCCL ships we have gone on in the past. Thanks. Subscribed to hear more in future! I’ll check out the planner!
Great advice to keep an eye on the price of the packages… I should actually do this regularly. That’s a huge difference! Thanks for subscribing & feel free to ask me if you have any questions about the planner :)
We've been on the Symphony and Harmony and they are by far our best cruises. We have a once in a lifetime Aquasuite booked on the Sept 26 Oasis sailing and we can't wait. Cococay is amazing, if you're not in to the thrill park the beach club and south beach are great. In Nassau Atlantis aquaventure is a blast but pricey.... the Blue Lagoon excursion is also a nice choice. Hopefully we'll see you on the ship!!
Great to hear Lorenzo! How nice that you have an incredible Aquasuite - after the last year plus, you will surely enjoy it. We may do blue lagoon… I appreciate the suggestions. Definitely say hi if you see me on the ship
150 Central Park is a MUST! Have always had a fantastic meal there! We’re going on a Transatlantic on Oasis this October (2024)! Can’t wait!
We are booked for Oct 3 2021, and yes planning on staying on board during a port or two…. We have purchased the deluxe beverage and WiFi plan also. Thanks for the info.
Great to hear. I think it’s a good value right now :)
Sailing this one two!😁
Your new plan sounds like a winner.
Thanks Melvin!
We are booked for Sep 12 , love the Oasis class ship, our first ever cruise was on the Allure and have been spoiled. Been on the Allure twice, Harmony and Anthem. We are doing the ultimate liquor and dining packages, and we do plan on staying on the ship at Port Canaveral.
That’s awesome!! Those packages sound nice too!!
Make sure to bring an alarm clock. We overslept several mornings and missed breakfast 😂
We always take B2B on Oasis class ships. We make plans for week one the alternate for week two. Oasis class ships are our favorite. Always do ocean view balcony because we love the sound of the Ocean. We will actually be on Oasis 12-26 Dec 2021 and Harmony next Christmas
Great idea!! This is 💯 a ship that deserves time to enjoy, explore & do a lot!! What an amazing Christmas/holiday cruise you’ll have!!
Booked on oasis in April and everything you've said you don't like, is the exact reason I'm excited to go. 😂
Haha I love it!! It goes to show there is a cruise experience for everyone. Enjoy 🎉
We have sailed on Royal Caribbean's Mega ships several times. We have gone on Oasis a couple of times and once on Symphony of the Seas. Here are the things we always do to make it more enjoyable. Believe it or not my wife and I usually lose some weight on a RC cruise. Our secret is to book a room in the front of the ship and of course most of the restaurants are in the back of the ship do you have a nice walk to get to and from the food area. Next we always book a ocean view balcony room for the same reason you have, we like to watch the water go by and breakfast on the balcony is the best. I think the small changes you are considering will make the Oasis cruise much more enjoyable. You also need to go on the other Oasis class ships. We are going on Harmony this Christmas which will complete our series of all three.
Love your advice!! Lol, there is definitely a lot of walking on this ship - not sure we’ll lose weight though 😂. Very exciting holiday cruise for you!!! Enjoy 🎉
Out of 24 Cruises it is my favorite ship ever. Done it 3 times. 2 board walk balcony, on over central park ❤❤❤❤❤
It seemed like I waited forever to go on a oasis class ship, and when we finally made it, there was a group of 18 family members on our 50th anniversary celebration. I really don't remember a lot from that cruise except the busyness of the whole time. The ship was fabulous and not crowded at all. Just my husband and I will be going on the Allure of the Seas in January so, like you, we hope to enjoy the ship but also have rest and relaxation time.
Happy anniversary!! 🥂 I could see why you’d want a cruise just the 2 of you this time :)
Booked Oasis sept 1 '24 Mediterranean cruise 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 excited sailed symphony this past month and was amazing hope they get yogether the food situation ❤
I am going Labor Day week! I hope to see you!
Hi. The wife and I had our anniversary aboard the Allure in September, 2019. Everyday was go-go-go. We had a Central Park balcony - will not do that again. Definitely needed a vacation after the vacation. There were things we did not do some that can only be done on an Oasis-class vessel: The zipline and the Rising Tide. We are booked on the Odyssey later this year but I have unfinished business with Oasis-class and will sail that class again. We are expecting to have 2 take it easy days on the upcoming cruise. Like your vlogs.
That’s awesome - it will be amazing I’m sure to be on Odyssey. I actually wondered about the Central Park balconies as I enjoyed that space a lot. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment :)
Hello. I’m a new subbie here. I am glad that I found your channel. We will hopefully be going on Allure in December 2021. (This is after RCL cancelled/changed our X-mas cruise and ships twice due to COVID.) This is our first time on one of these behemoths. We’ll be on Allure. I like your links and cruise planner sheets and will be using them soon if all goes well. Your thoughts and observations will make our trip more enjoyable!! Take care.
Hi Carol & welcome!! What a great cruise. I love sailing in December - it’s so beautiful!! So glad you found the planner helpful
@@LifeWellCruised You bet it’s helpful! Reading hour comment put a smile on my face!😃
I did have an oceanview on my cruise on Ovation Of The Seas that Royal Caribbean cancelled recently and when we get to get her back again or similar I am going to get another oceanview and I was super excited about it, it was under the bridge and see the view of the front of the ship
Sounds just beautiful!!
We did a spur of the moment trip on the Oasis of the seas in 2018. There were tons of things we like about the RCCL experience, but what they did wrong will keep us away. We ate at the main dining room one night and felt the food was inedible, so did specialty restaurants the rest of the trip (Loved Chops and Giovanni's) The only opened half the Windjammer at a time, so we couldn't get close to that and never ate there. The Solarium Bistro was nice however. And we never found a place to get something non-alcoholic to drink on off hours - like Iced Tea or juice. The entertainment and lack of crowds were nice. We did spend our Jamaica day on board, and it was great being on the ship almost alone!
We got the three specialty restaurant package, and they kept giving us coupons for another meal while there....so three seemed like a good number!
Wow, sounds like speciality restaurants are worth it. Thanks for sharing your experience!!
My fav ship been on her 29 times #30 coming up enjoy it 👍😀
We are scheduled on Oasis April,2022. It will be our 2nd cruise, as we have had 5 cancelled due to covid. We are very excited as we have only been on Liberty of the Seas, but we too will be taking it easy and at least have a balcony to escape to. As for excursions, we only have 1 planned out of 4 stops, and we also want to stay on board to check out the ship. She's huge!!
Very exciting!! I think you’ll love it, having the balcony to “escape” to when needed lol
Your cruise planner looks really great. I’m considering buying it. Can you please do a video on it?
Hi Liz, I can certainly go into it a bit more in a future video :)
We will be on the Oasis the first time in October after our RCC ship cruise of the same time was cancelled. ☹️ We are looking forward to checking this ship out
Hope you have a great time!! Should be fun 🎉
im glad there is alot todo my last cruise was carnival 20 years ago it was boring and so crowded . i'm ecited to take my 2 teen boys here it royal carribean cruise.
Thanks for this video. I'm booked on Oasis in February and was concerned about the size! It's only my 2nd cruise (the first one is coming up in October!).
My pleasure! There’s a lot of great things about the ship - lol I would never want to turn anyone off. Actually many many people love it! What’s your first cruise?
My husband and I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises. The first one we did mostly dining, with two specialty dining along with Chef’s table. The second cruise, we did chef’s table and specialty dining for the rest of the time. Chef’s table is a must, and we prefer specialty dining over main dining.
Thanks Amber for the honest opinion. I appreciate the feedback:)
My pleasure! I hope one day my husband and I will be able to get to go on the Oasis and it’s sister ships.
We will be sailing on the Oasis this fall for the first time. We are a little ambivalent about it because, like you, we love being
“connected” to the sea. That is why we love the Radiance class ships. They are outward focused.
Yes 💯! We sailed on Serenade in the med and the glass elevators and aft outdoor space to eat was awesome. I’m sure you’ll have a great time though - please let me know
This ship is absolutely amazing. We booked our 2nd cruise on this on this ship for later this year.
That’s awesome! Looks like we’ll be on this spring
September 26 so excited
Awesome!! Say hi if you see us
This is my wife and I first cruise and what are somethings that are a must see or do on this ship? Thank you for your videos.
Hi Ilana, the final payment for our November Celebrity Millennium cruise to Eastern Caribbean is due Saturday. We just upgraded to a Concierge C1 cabin down in the Royal Suite corridor today as prices have come down. The ship looks half full if that. Let's just hope the world is not in lock down again in 3 months. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
That’s awesome!! I really think these are the times that we have to hope for the best. Things can always be moved if necessary, but could also work out wonderfully :)
We sailed on this ship before but we did do the ultimate dining. It was worth every penny we paid. Do not miss the steak house wonderful food and service.
Great to hear!! Yes I definitely intend to do the steak house - I appreciate the recommendation
This was a great 👍 video thank you so very much ❤
Thanks for watching Elizabeth! So glad you enjoyed the video. Have you cruised on this ship, or type of ship before?
@@LifeWellCruised No I have not had the pleasure just yet but I really related to changing how you travel now at a slower pace...I felt as though we were twins with highlighting the day before and running a race to do everything 🙃 I also had to make the change to slow down... I learned from your video that you have to make reservations for shows that was really important 👌 thank again so much Congratulations and wish you much success ❤
@@elizabethmartell3258 thanks so much!! I appreciate your kind comments
Going next month. Planning to stay on the ship for both Nassau and Fl. Want more time to explore the ship.
When r u going? We are going May 8th. My uncle has been cruising over 30 years but he loves your tips and advise
Thank you
Hi would you say this would be a good ship to try as first timers? We adore Disney and usually go but next year we want a change but still have lots of fun?! We are looking at a Mediterranean 7 night cruise?! Thank you!
The Oasis Class seems so big; my agent keeps telling me that Symphony of the Seas is gorgeous and to give it a shot ... but we are primarily Princess people and this seems well Vegas at Sea. Do you think it merits the chance?
I'm rather intimidated by the larger ships and the number of passengers on them. I think I would feel overwhelmed by the options available, and like you, would just have to plan a few things each day. I would also definitely skip a port (in my case, Nassau) and enjoy the space. That being said, my next cruise is on a smaller NCL ship, then will hopefully be on a Radiance class ship to Alaska. PS I've watched your 50 cruise hacks video a few times. I always pick up something new.
I could understand. If you generally prefer the smaller to medium ships, you might not enjoy this ship. However like you said, if you choose just a bit to do each day it could be fun. I love the cruises you have coming up!!
Thanks for watching the cruise hacks!! I realize I probably have more to share 😂
Generally one way to destroy a vacation is to overplan. It never works out the way you want it too. You don't have to do everything. Enjoy what they offer, don't be in a rush. Remember you don't have to be in a rush IT'S A VACATION. On the oasis my wife and I loved Central Park spoke to other people and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. I remember standing in line which I thought was for the water slide but was for a aqua show. People were in a hurry maintaining their place in line trying to make the next show. I felt like I was in a subway waiting for the next train. My wife and I rode the merry-go-round.enjoy your vacation.
Love this Richard! Great advice for any vacation
About to take our first cruise on this ship- Western Mediterranean. The drink package for water? Is that because water on the ship is not good for drinking? On the list for drink package is says "premium" coffee; is that different from brewed coffee like Americano?
Ilana - Oasis class ships do have more to do than you can possibly do without being exhausted. My solution is to book a fall or spring repositioning cruise to Europe on an Oasis class ship. You have 8 days at sea which gives you time to just relax occasionally without feeling guilty. In the early days of the Oasis class ships the repo cruises had very few port stops because they were too large for most docking facilities. It now seems like more ports are able to accept them since they seem to be making more port stops now. We are on Wonder of the Seas in April and we have 5 ports before arriving in Barcelona along with the 8 day crossing. This is a good mix of ports and sea days. Just a thought.
Great idea!!
I basically try and do an excursion at every port but try and be back by 1pm so I can still enjoy rhe ship
This is my first cruise and i am worried about sea sickness what is your recommendation for that should i bring Bonie pills, wrist bands what did you bring and did you get sea sick?
Hi this we’re planning to cruise in August for our 25th wedding anniversary. It’ll be our very first cruise!! Very excited and searching for reviews. Bayonne is the planned departure port since we’re about 30 minutes away. I just found your video so I’ll check to see if you already went in your cruise. May I ask what is a good deal for a balcony room for 7 nights from Bayonne to Bahamas and back? Very new to this and trying to learn the most I can. Thank you!!
Sounds amazing!! Really it’s a great ship and we do plan to go, maybe this late spring. We canceled this particular one as at the time the border to the US was closed
I’m booked on the Oasis for June 16, 2023. I didn’t know that you need to book your entertainment before getting on the ship. It’s completed booked for The Aqua my question is would I be able to book once on the ship?
Hello, excellent review. Only question I have, do we have to take a Covid test on disembarkation day or the day before???? Thinking about taking the Oasis on Thanksgiving week this year....
A lot may change until thanksgiving - I’m hesitant to give advice as this may depend if you’re flying and to what country. Best to check on RC’s website- they have protocols & policies till end of October
im 10 and my first ever cruise is in july on the oasis of the seas im exited
We are booked for a June 2022 sailing on Oasis out of Bayonne. I'm curious if you already went on your cruise and what your favorites were this time around. We just sailed on Anthem in February but have never been on an Oasis class yet and are nervous yet excited about how large the ship is.
That’s awesome Heather! We actually canceled this cruise at the time as the border was still closed for us. We have plans this spring though so I’ll share more as we go. How did you like Anthem?
We are looking at the Oasis or Anthem out of NJ this Fall, so your opinions are interesting.🐸
Fun!!
Hi just want to ask if toddlers can watch the broadway shows?
This will be our second cruise and first with Royal Caribbean. We are going on the same cruise and plan on staying on the ship at Port Canaveral and bought a 2 meal specialty. Thinking we can connect to land Wi-Fi at Port Canaveral for free and hoping can buy a single day Wi-Fi for Thursday or Friday. Not sure it's possible. perhaps you know.
My wife loves watching your videos. She asked me if you will be on our cruise lol. We cruising on September 26th Oasis
Awe!! Unfortunately no, we’ve had to cancel/reschedule - hoping to go still this fall 🤞. Have amazing cruise & say hello to your wife for me
@@LifeWellCruised Like you last time I was on Coco they didn't have all that stuff they had now. We had to take a smaller boat to the island and if I remember correctly all they had was the beach, jet skiing which was fun and the water blow up slides.
@@richiesiciy7242 big difference!!
We were on a sold out anthem of the seas cruise in 2019. It felt way overcrowded. There were always long lines in the morning for breakfast. The promenade was always crowded. It was hard to find a quiet, peaceful spot. Now would be a good time to sail on these ships because they have reduced capacity. I think I would have loved the experience had their been less people.
Book the ultimate dining package and you will have no lines at any meal. Because breakfast was also included at some of the specialty restaurants.
I agree Dave, now is a great time for cruising in terms of space & very few crowds 👌
I went on thr Allure of the Sea in 2014, I felt like I was at the local mall, had a ocean balcony but missed the feel of the ship moving. I will stay with smaller ships like Princess
That’s a good point. I forgot how stable the ship was lol
How have you not ever been to Nassau? I’ve been on over a dozen cruises and every one of them stopped at Nassau except for 2 Bermuda cruises and one California coastal cruise. Since it is your first time you will definitely enjoy Nassau but for me, it will be a stationary Sea Day. Oh yes, and my Alaska cruise did not stop at Nassau either LOL 😝
I know right? Literally 3 x it was on our itinerary and canceled due to weather and seas. If it happens again Nassau wasn’t meant to be 😉
I am going in May from cape liberty, will you be on the same ship?
Will be on Oasis in Jan 2022 😊
Yay 🎉
Very good review. You do have to make sure you have enough ocean to feel you are cruising, but once you do that, it's great. Solarium is the place. A suggestion: get an editor.
Have you cruised on Oasis (or the sister ships)? Love or not so much? Share tips too 👏
I’ve been on Allure (Dec 2019), it was my favorite ship and cruise so far. We are booked on Oasis November 28, 2021and I am so excited to get on this ship!
@@beachymamaadventures so great to hear!!! What are your recommendations? Did you do the specialty restaurants btw?
@@LifeWellCruised we loved the main dining room, they have Sabor (specialty), El Loco Fresh (included) and that is so good! We loved the shows and the zip line and the mini golf on the ship. I was just an awesome experience. We’re kind of adventurous cruisers. We like to do everything and experience everything!
@@beachymamaadventures great to know!! I appreciate the suggestions & tips 👍
Been on Oasis twice. The first time was really nice, but a bit overwhelming (1st Royal cruise). The 2nd time was after they added all the extra cabins. Apparently they didn't add enough cruise staff because bar service was horrible. Both times, we ate at 150 Central Park. It was fabulous both times. We are going on the Allure on Sept 26th, and are looking forward to trying Izumi Hibachi.
You said not crowded. We’re deck chairs available on sea days? And does the adult only solarium always have lounge chairs available even on sea days?
Finding deck chairs wasn’t an issue for us on a full ship in March. The solarium may be harder, but I didn’t spend much time there
We are scheduled on August 26 .but worried about delta ratio in Florida.
I hope we’ll see this situation improve. Take the precautions you feel comfortable with when travelling especially
Hi! I am looking for the cruise planner that you are selling but can't find the link. Can you clarify where to find it?
It’s in the description - unfortunately it’s not obvious on CZcams. It’s a little arrow on the right side of the title, and it looks like an upside down v. Here’s the link to the planner where you can see what’s included and the details:) lifewellcruised.com/ultimate-cruise-planner/
@@LifeWellCruised Thank you!
Hello! I just purchased your cruise planner and I’m so excited to start filling in all our information! I wasn’t aware (totally my fault) that is was a digital download so I may need to have my son/grandchildren help me find it in my iCloud files. I’m a organization nut, but definitely not computer savvy. 😂🤣😂
I also wanted to mention that I will be traveling on Horizon of the Seas in January 2022. Your video of the Oasis was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
I hope you have a fabulous vacation, especially relaxing and soaking up the sun and beautiful ocean.
Did you go to cruise to be by yourself alone. Like you always want your place. Big ships ll be all about board walk and extras. It ll be busy too. But ocean with balcony is great idea
You said it didn't seem crowded - did you sail on her before the virus limited the capacity? Sailing now it may feel like a ghost ship...
It was definitely busy, just the crowds were we dispersed. It was March break so lots of families at the time way back before these days :)
The only thing that would make me jittery would be the sheer numbers of people. I think I might find it mentally challenging. This ship looks like Disney World with water. It looks exhausting.
I can see what you mean. I think people either love it, or they don’t. There are some beautiful and calm areas on the ship as well though, like Central Park
I hope you have a fun-filled, hurricane free, relaxing cruise. Maybe one nap just because you can! Lol
oasis: Chef's Table was incredible. Extra cost though
Hi a have a question i am going on my first cruise on april 2023 and i am so ancious what is the best recomendation to follow first. So excited !🤭My ship will be Oasis of the sea just confused😉because i hear thats its so big and just asking for Tips😉🙃
Hi there, I recently went on Oasis and shared some of the things we really enjoyed in one video, and some things we enjoyed less about the ship in another. You can find them on my channel. It’s a great ship overall in my opinion
@@LifeWellCruised Thank you.
With the exception of Senior Frg bar at Nassau, I didn't find anything worth seeing at Nassau. It am very old and run down town, with too many high end jewelry stores and junk Stores.
I agree with you on everything you said about Oasis.
Thanks Bob. Is there anything you’d recommend on oasis, for me or others?
We went on the Allure. The service was so bad that we forever swore off sailing with Royal Caribbean.
Oh no!! Sorry to hear that
Can you recommend the best activities on this ship please?
Sure! That will be in an upcoming video
I was just on it and it was definitely crowded. The pools are small and so crowded all you can do is stand. The service is outstanding but I would never go on it again. It was like a crowed Great adventure floating on the sea.
when are you/did you sail on Oasis?? ours is coming up!
Exciting!! Well be on in May
This was the first large ship we ever sailed on and I didn’t know you could pre-book entertainment so as a result we were not able to any shows….also it was a bit more crowded than we were used to….I think going forward it would be good because we know what to expect
Oh that’s too bad. The shows are really the highlight of this ship. Hopefully now that you know all the ins and outs, you might consider a second time around :)
We’ll be going on Allure in December. This is our first big ship. Thanks for the entertainment booking tip. Is it in the Cruise Planner?
@@carolm4545 yes on the Royal Caribbean cruise planner you can book your shows and dining. Enjoy!!
@@LifeWellCruised Thank you! I know we are all chomping at the bit to set sail!
@@LifeWellCruised Thank you!
Have you cruised on NCL. What did you think?
I have - on Breakaway & Getaway. Overall I like Norwegian & enjoyed it
@@LifeWellCruised Thanks for comment II still love NCL.
@@robertwhite4176 of course :) Do you have a favorite ship?
Loved Symphony of the Seas. We're laid back cruisers so we simply enjoy the ride. We don't attempt to do everything that the cruise has to offer. We pick and choose so that we're not overwhelmed. We are booked on the Oasis of the Seas in February 2022. Looking forward to comparing it to Symphony. (If we are required to mask, we will be cancelling)
I think this sounds like the best way to enjoy and experience the ship 👌
The ships are monstrosities, the perfect ship size for me was the Maasdam. I miss the intimacy of the older smaller ships. 45,0000 tons was where they should have stopped. I want to be on and near the ocean. I don’t want to have to go looking for it.
