After all these years, there's no one comparable. This guy is a genius!

Even after 11 years, it's still the best rendition ever recorded! Lucas, you are brilliant!
Amazing
It's true!
I watch this video atleast twice a week, for the last 5 years. Of a kid playing for 3 minutes who is probably 30 by now.
@@magentuspriest same
Check out newer videos of him playing it. The one where he's in the white wife beater is the best.
I'm going on 94 and am reliving my youth with this music đ”đ”. Lou
I'm amazed to find my own comment from six years ago. Should've been millions more. When I drink too much, I still start to cry watching this. In total awe and also envy. Whereever anyone is watching this, I wish you all the best. Best regards from Norway

@@joseph1845, I agree, just being friendly and adding something to my reply.
I turned 90 today'this boogie takes me back to when I w 16-17, still makes you want to get up and jive, Vern L.
Hope you're still around, Vern! Let's go for 100!

Let's be realistic
Boogie-woogie can add years to your miserable lives
But to play it loudly to others' enjoyment must be worth sth in altruistic terms

Yup siree
Go for it!

Thank God this music will never be lost.
Amen to that Bill!
+Bill Hyder never will :-)
boogie lives forever
Good Music will always be passed down .. obscure irrelavant music like rap will soon die off
I love how much heâs having fun.
An immense talent, the ardor of adolescence, a touch of insolence, a sly smile...
High consideration and respect!
No amount of tuition can teach piano playing like this. This is pure talent and at 14 years old , wow !
This kid is a real Pro.. Anyone who makes it look this easy has mastered it.. BRAVO ! ! ! All my best, Jim
Jim Miller Bravo Indeed

He Really Is Jim...
I was born in 1932 and grew up when Boogie Woogie was at the top. I became a mechanic for 42 years and thought I could do anything with my hands, but you showed me a youngster who has so much talent with his fingers it's amazing. Talent has exposed itself for all of us to enjoy. Thank you Luca. George Traganos
Yes ser me to
I love how after every lick he looks at the cameraman to make sure he was sufficiently impressed.
That is his Dad
There's always a cinic...
That was some KILLER Boogie Woogie! What I wouldn't give to be able to play HALF as good. Great job, young man! I know your dad is proud of you.
@@davidhollingsworth6965 It's spelled cynic. And I have no idea what you are talking about. I was just making a light-hearted joke. Calm yourself.
@@_aje Oh...my bad, I just read where someone listened to an awesomely talented teenage piano player, and instead of admiring that talent and complimenting him: just took a dig at his maturity because he sought approval from his dad...that was his dad, by the way - and no...you WERE being ciniical. That's how I want to spell it...
Boogie piano is some of the easiest to understand in theory, but the hardest to play in practice. This is fantastic.
User_error dream on princess
User_error you are an idiot, Show me a kid who's playing the chopin g minormballade quiet good
Boris Bakow what kid would want to play that?
Boris Bakow You're the idiot, so take a lesson, smartass, from a guy who grew up in a family of professional classical musicians and has been playing jazz all my life. . Many great jazz musicians have always been able to play classical music, but classical musicians almost NEVER can play any form of jazz or the blues. That is why jazz is America's exclusive musical art form, exported to the entire world. Any pianist who studies seriously can play Chopin. The damn notes were written by the composer and you study how to play the piece the way the composer intended , albeit with your own interpretation, if you're good. But in jazz, the musician is BOTH the performer and the composer, and improvises as he or she plays. Every single piece, even from the same performer, is a surprise and never the same. Liszt could improvise with classical music, but even that's very different from jazz improvisation. They also have a very finely developed sense of rhythm that classical musicians simply cannot imitate, no matter how hard they try, with very few exceptions =they just can't "swing" That's why Benny Goodman could bring phenomenal, historic toe tapping jazz to Carnegie Hall in 1938 and decades later play classical music concerts and was actually BETTER than most classical clarinet players and was known for that. It was his finely honed jazz musical sense that allowed him to play classical clarinet that well, not the other way around. You're the type of musically illiterate snob who makes people HATE classical music.
Now, for the biiiig surprise, dumbass. Luca Sestak had been formally studying classical piano for several years, but found himself coming home from high school and playing nothing but boogie-woogie and finally just gave up classical piano and is performing boogie-woogie and blues concerts today. If you think this music is simple, you need to try it. It's very easy to learn the notes, if you're classically trained, but you ain't gonna swing or sound even remotely like Albert Ammons, I guarantee it. And all you're gonna ever be is a tenth rate imitation of a musical genius. Luca can improvise, and he has the rhythm. Studying classical music to learn the instrument technically, is one thing, but it has nothing to do with the ability to play jazz.
Daaaaammmmnnnnn yâall just got fucking destroyed.
Never thought I would hear Swanee River played so fabulously! WOW.
You can tell this is authentic Boogie Woogie because this young man has the Boogie Woogie Legs.
This was issued 14 years ago. It is now 2023.
I play the piano and based on this video alone I have to say he's the best player in the world.
Boogie is eternal music. Salute from Russia.
Who are all the idiots that put 852 dislikes you must be jealous of this fantastic kid who at 14 plays like this who is BRILLIANT!!!!
This is what "World Class" sounds like!!!
Never gets old
If you were this good in 2009, I can only imagine how well you play now!
I've been to classical and jazz performances in NYC & Paris, in both of which I've lived & seen lots of amazing musicians. I've never seen anyone touch the keys with such dexterity and liveliness! Just exquisite!
If you havent seen or heard better, you havent been around much.
One of the best ALL TIME boogie renditions ever!!!
Nope. Take some time and look around. You'll find better.
He NAILED it
Luca is a prodigy. Been watching him for years and to appreciate his skill, you have to watch these older videos and then the latest ones. Amazing.
This 2009 version sets the standards no one can beat it. This is his best version.
This is the best arrangement I have ever heard. Luca, you are the best!!!! The absolute best! I can't get enough of this. I listen to this over and over.
This is what talent sounds like.
Donât you just love how he looks up at the camera and smiles,
Makes it look so easy. Can you imagine walking into a piano store with him and he sits down and plays that !!!
Luca Sestak such passion for what he does.
The Piano is Gods gift to the music world.
Actually it was Bartolomeo Cristofori's gift to the music world.
God also made the computers and the internet, thanks God.
Bartolomeo Cristofori was working under Gods arrangement :D

Exactly, God sends brainless people to worship him, but he sends smart people to build things!

But you can worship him and still build great things, whats your point?
1:30-1:35 absolute chills. The ability to make that record scratch sound on a baby grand. I've watched this video at LEAST a hundred times. And I'm in awe every single time.
Gifted, Gifted and Gifted, I think you were a PIANO in an earlier life, surely no one can learn to play this good must be natural born talent.
When ever I need to be uplifted I come to this very video and play it a couple of times, it works for me every time.
THANKS Luca for letting us all share your gift & talent.
It demands quite a bit of practise to play a fast piece of pianojazz so well with nearly no mistakes. Luca Sestak did it. Amazing.
THIS KID IS BLESSED WITH TALENT!!! GREAT JOB!!!
This dude has one of the best left hands Iâve ever seen. ( heard ) clean, driving, rhythmic wow đł
I've watched this video many times. I am ALWAYS amazed at the ease at which he plays. Such a natural talent! (At 14, no less)! PLEASE, young Man, don't take you talent for granted! You have a true gift! This video always makes me smile from my soul!
You can tell he's having the time of his life.
Absolutely smoking. I hope it was as much fun to play as it was to listen to. Totally amazing.
The one-hand runs are amazing. Pure talent.
that smile towards the camera kills me each time :) this is my new favourite, i could listen to it nonstop and when i'm not listening it replays in my head whatever i'm doing :)) Thanks so much for sharing!!
This kid is such a badass

North Tron huh?
Margi K. Im kinda confused too.

I could watch this a thousand times (probably have) and be smiling as much each time!
So at one with the piano. For me, beyond words to explain the magic of your performance. Thank you so very much and may you delight the pleasure of many for years to come. Thank you đ
I love this video so much that I never get bored watching it again & again... in 2020đ
253 people have no taste in music or can acknowledge a really good 14 year old pianist. Dicks... Really enjoyed this, well done.
+Richard Jackson Ha_Ha Just watched this video, commented, scrolled down and found you posted almost the same thing!
+Richard Jackson or they just don't like it lol
+Richard Jackson Well.....some people actually think that rap is music. So, there's no accounting for taste. However;
clicking on dislike is the only way to quickly get youtube to stop suggesting stuff you don't like. It's not like they hate it, they just prefer something else. If you don't click on dislike, you keep getting more of the same suggestions. Try it; click on another boogie woogie selection. after a couple more, that's all they'll suggest to you.
MrTehRave you show the world you have more ass than class and absolutely zero refinement
isopath1 Thanks for addressing my point dumbass
What WONDERFUL TALENT. Love boogie woogie and what an excellent version of Swannee River.
This is the best version of Swanee River Boogie, this kid is great!
He set the standard with this no one can touch him not even the original
Love it, as Errol Flynn once said, and I echo his sentiments, 'My one regret in life is that I never learned to play the piano'.
Tommy Hall ; My regret is that I gave up piano lesson at 8 years old. Guess my mom was right !!
Love how he looks back at the camera thinking "yeah I'm a badass".
I don't think he's thinking that.
@@lianelayman7577 Of course he isn't, actually he seems a bit shy.

Never gets old .i listen to this at least once a week đđ. One night I watched you grow up took me 7 hours to follow your progress I đ ya. Your #1 fan. Thanks for the greatness đđ
Fantastic. There are a lot of versions of Swanee River Boogie on CZcams, but very few are even close to being as musically expressive as this one. Great to see somebody not just playing as fast as possible but actually bothering to say something with their notes.
Love it!!!!
I love it & im surprised that a young man would be into this style. He knows good music & heâs got it running thru his body. Boogie boy boogie !!!
Never heard that tune done like that before, I like it!
Back again. I must have watched 100 times. He never learns anything new. Just same perfect performance time after time. I like Luca's current polished performances but nothing meets the raw talent displayed here.

THIS MAKES ME HAPPY. SOOOOOO NEEDED TO SEE HEAR AND FEEL THIS JOY. THANK YOU!
Amazing skills man! This makes me think, back before the radio and the easy access to the unlimited music we have 24/7, just imagine the experience it had to be to go see live acts like this dude.
Had to be exhilarating, considering the only way to ever hear it was live and in person.
The way he leans into it at 1:30. At that precise moment he is filled with some otherworldly boogie woogie power and everything is alright with the universe.
Wow....I love the Boogie Woogie style and this was such a great example. What a talent!!! Well done!
I viewed this several times. Once or twice is not enough. Awesome.
I smile every time I watch this amazing performance. This is my favorite piano video.
As long young people play music like this there is hope for the future of music.
That boy is one hell of a good piano player. I guess he is all grown up now. Amazing.
What a talented amazing young man. Makes my whole body dance
back again. About every three months MUST listen to 13 year old Luca play Swanee River at least 10 times. Just pure talent. love his other videos but this is the best.
I watched him to his present age....everything that's been posted on CZcams. This is hands down my favorite......just because of the raw talent and potential. Playing boogie woogie today isn't going to take you to the lofty heights of fame/money & success. It's a passion that you do for love of genre. I can see from his vids there was a tipping point when the passion sort of got lost and the mechanics of the playing part became more important than the soul of the music. If you watch Henri Herbert, he has not lost the passion and the mechanics of his boogie woogie playing are not equaled by anyone. Maybe Luca should teach, write or whatever....something that becomes the journey back to finding the soul of boogie woogie.......
Fantastic and fun music for everyone to make your day a little brighter
This young man is really good, he makes look so easy....and we know it's not....... Thanks for the post
I love this guy! Love his ability and how he gets into his music! Thank you!!!
I don't understand!!!....I don't understand why this young talent would get so many thumbs down!?đđłđ€
Amazing! I bet I've watched this fifty times.
I watch this at least once a week. Awesome, inspiring... Beautiful!
Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I've just had a visit from an old Friend whom bought His children 12 and 9 years. Both ate already accomplished pianists but I've told them about Luca. They will both research You later! Brilliant Luca, thank You.
Dang, 2023 and this remains a masterpiece. â€
Luca was born with the boogie in him. Definitely genius material here.
The music is playing YOU! AMAZING!
only in Russia my friend
Just Jeanne ikr he just does it heâs like not even thinking
10M views⊠boogie aint dead. And its been coming back in different shapes since, Swing , Rockabilly, Status, Green day and the indie bands around 2010. You dont hear much of that rolling in what you hear new now, but the one that manage to get the rolling back to music will not die poor. Itâs genetically impossible not to move along with this.
Imagine yourself being in this kids music class a school, attempting to play the recorder.
That would be me. I laughed out loud.
just listend to more than 20 different interpretations of Swanee River - yours is the best!
I cant turn 2 wrench's at the same time and this young guy is Rockin all 10 fingers!!!
Tony Shelton
Actually, I think he's got a few extra hidden there somehow from the sound of it!
Wow. I .... so killer. I'm a metal head. This was heavy as balls! The timing and use of accidentals is just mind blowing. Super great job I damn near jumped out of my seat when you finished playing that. Forgot I was at home. Transending music.
A young person showing their talents, priceless. Go young man as you are a great talent.
What a talented kid! Great job dude!
that is so unbelievably amazing! This kid saved me tonight! Thank you! I am rocking happy and I wasn't ten minutes ago !
Sometimes you just put your heart and soul into it, and it comes out right!
Even Al' Jolson would give that version the thumbs up, wow! something else.
Luca - I listen to this video and 14 others of yours EVERY day for hours while I work on the internet. I have listened to hundreds of other great piano players but you are THE ONE.

I wish you nothing but continued success. Thanks for all the many hours of joy your talent and hard work brings me!
