Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down.

Invincible Season 2 Episode 2 is now out and it's packed with easter eggs, comic book call backs and lots of things going on in it. Throughout this video we're gonna be breaking it all down and going over our thoughts on the entry as a whole.
When we last left Mark we saw as he felt like he was becoming his worst nightmare which was that he'd become his dad. This was something that could be the case too as in an alternate universe we saw tht he'd joined him.
In this universe though he's out there on his own attending his graduation in the opening of the entry.
This took place during issue 17 with Marks hat being thrown in the air above all the others. Man actually launched it up into the sky and it came crashing down in england which was a callback to an earlier Joke. When Mark got his powers during issue one he too launched the burger mart garbage bag up into the sky. This also came crashing down in England and we'd learned a cult had formed around a guy talking about what was really going on with it. - Zábava

I think Cecil wanted to pull up the audio because he was intrigued by how distressed mark was after that one sound wave attack, so eventually we might get Cecil finding out the weakness of the viltrumites
Well think about it, what's the best way to protect your planet, your species even, from an "all" powerful being like omni-man? Get close to them and be their "man in the chair". Unlimited access so you can spy on them and collect raw data to find a way to finally kill/ control them. But it has to be played completely close to the chest. You'd get one shot only and potentially lose many people in the process. But that's really the only way to one up them i think.

I mean, they somehow got onto the roof to break-in, but did no 1 who lives or works in the building ever go to the roof to see them hanging there? Plus, are there no security cameras or sensors to detect the 2 guys stuck up there?
Surprised you didn't catch that the two decayed guys hanging there were the ones Darkwing took out in the first episode before answering the call for the Guardians slaughter. Looks like since he never came back they starved and decayed in the time since.

@@jessetorres8738 the city is cursed, and had been cursed for awhile. Eternal night probably sent their society into chaos. My guess is, people and institutions don't function normally there anymore. Kinda like in Batman when the criminals at Arkham take over the city. All you can do it sit back and pray for those trapped inside
That Eve scene with her dad was a reference to The Garden of Eden. Eve was tempting her dad (Adam) with an apple.

@@jAfr0Thunder86 this is where I think the show will start deviating from the comic. They’ve done so I think making the stories stronger & more streamlined. There were the cyborgs from the university they did, possibly upgrading the tech, or maybe Robot provided specs from the Maulers. This Cecil seems like he’s setting us up for even bigger disappointment and betrayal than he did in the comics. I did a lot of research since my 1st post lol

The dead bodies in Midnight City were the burglars that the original Darkwing caught in the first episode of the series. Omni Man killed him before he could report their capture to the authorities, so they were left to die of starvation/exposure
You missed an important bit of detail, the door that's broken is the same door that she keeps the wine glasses in and might actually be broken because she's been reaching for the glasses more because she's regressing into alcoholism as a coping mechanism
The two skeleton bodies hanging in midnight city are the two guys Darkwing captured before Omni man killed him in the first season. Remember he was supposed to come back and get them after his magnetic handcuffs attched them to the water tower. They have been hanging there ever since.
Cecil is good and bad. He’s definitely the Nick Fury of this show. Needs help from superheroes but always has a plan to take them down if they go rogue. Thanks again Paul for the great breakdown brother. 🫡🦾

the mailbox and the cabinet not staying closed and being increasingly frustrating for debbie could be an analog for how she and mark are ignoring the issues they need to talk out, and how it’s getting worse and worse until it becomes the reason they finally hug at the end

It seems like the main reason why Cecil let Mark start helping out again is because he needs to come up with new contingency plans for him. Sending Invincible in alone means that there are no other heroes around to cover up his weaknesses.

Her dad is a real piece of work. Your daughter sees your struggling and fills your house with food and mean the WHOLE house and then see you in a fast food uniform. Turns an apple into solid gold. And because she was spitting facts you attacked at her heart strings saying her helping is impactful it’s dangerous smh. I feel like after this episode the wife will leave him and let act like this by himself. She might actually try to fix her relationship with her daughter. But that just my opinion

I like the the sign for the pentagon in the alternate reality having parking in front instead of parking in rear. A quick way to reveal its a different universe. And also, playing with that running sign joke.
9:53 those aren't the bodies from the sidekick. Those are the bodies of the guys Darkwing left hanging when he got the alert to meet at the HQ, where he was subsequently killed. So those guys were just left up there and died as well.

Those hanging bodies in Midnight City are the two burglars that Dark Wing was interrogating just before he was killed by Omni Man. He wasn't able to come back for them so they just died of thirst up there a couple days later
Spoilers!
In the comics, they said that the Viltrumites have a very sensitive inner ear: it is responsible for balance and is extremely developed in them, given their innate ability to fly.
Therefore, with all the invulnerability of the Viltrumites, the sound weapon is SUPER effective against them.
In the future, Cecil will plant a device in Mark's ear that will literally melt his brain with terrifying pain.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't include that bit of dialogue from the comics of Midnight Magician committing suicide. In the show, they just say he cursed the city. They also didn't mentioned how Midnight City doesn't get support from the government and only has volunteer cops.

The lizard league reminded me of Cobra from GI Joe basically the lizard King is cobra commander and Supreme lizard being Serpentor. A bit satisfying when he shoots him instead of being made a vengeful joke like the commander was.

I dunno if I’d count their capture of the female Cecil’s Mark proof he can “take them out”, it proves Cecil can find ways to contain them (assuming tech is similarly developed across the dimensions) but literally it was just “throw away countless lives in an ongoing war until Mark is so tired he passes out” if he had a way to kill them I really doubt that Mark would still be alive and really doubt they’d have killed off so many people capturing him
The animation budget is so clearly ahead of season 1 its crazy, the pace is also great.

Honestly I really just want Mark and Eve to get together already. It's tiring to see Mark and Amber where they have little to no chemistry, whereas Mark and Eve have so much in common and would be so much more fun to watch.

I like how in the end, the “grumpy” construction workers’ concerns were validated when it was revealed that the park, and possibly the building Eve repaired, were structurally unsound. Yeah, it turns out, despite how annoying red tape can be, building things “to code” actually has a purpose. If Eve went to engineering school or worked more closely _with_ the city, her “help” would be a lot more firm and long lasting.
No me. If that area was really dangerous and not safe to build on, it should have been taped off and the issues addressed with the citizens who continuously put in about it. The city chose to blow people off and then one someone finally took it upon themselves they went “see, we had a reason we ignored you.” Who runs the city, General Holdo? Lol
