FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs): Will update as more questions come in! Q: Why did you use such old hardware? Why not (insert computer name here) A: Like I mentioned in the video, I didn't have any other hardware in my house at the time that could run all six versions of Windows. This was the only computer I had, and I had to use it to make this video. In the future I might do a sequel with better hardware depending on how well this video does. Q: Why were Windows 7's temperatures abnormally high (at 2:26)? A: Likely due to it not properly "idling" and instead running at 100%. Q: What browser were you using for the browser test? A: I was using Mypal 68 as the browser across all six systems. It is a Windows XP compatible browser that makes browsing on XP bearable enough. It also worked on Windows 11 surprisingly, so I used it. Q: How long did it take to make this video? A: It took 2 months and over 30 hours of work to prepare, record, edit, script and publish this video.

About the system appearance, I still prefer Seven. To me, Seven, Vista, Eight, Eleven, Ten and XP in this order. Frankly I only think 11 looks a tiny bit better because the whole system feels a bit more consistent, but it's the one with the least transparency after Windows XP. I wish MS just released a huge theme pack that could turn your current Windows visual, to the visual of older versions, with Aero and all that, but maintaining the Explorer intact. That would be cool. Either way, awesome video, I loved it. Must have been an ass to record this.
Glad you enjoyed it! This video was indeed a pain to record. My phones screen actually broke during the recording so I had to use my iPhone 6s to film the 8.1 tests lol.
This video just proves what I’ve been saying all along. Vista was NOT bad and people sucked it up to Windows 7 for absolutely no reason other than coincidence and luck. People love to hate on Windows Vista but it was a huge technological jump over Windows XP.
XP will always have more RAM available to do anything, it basically always be much faster. Even so its old and not optimised for newer softwares, which may degrade a bit its performance. U could try install it into newer laptop hardware and do the tests.
5:14 Using Microsoft Office 2010 because, if using Office 2013 for Windows XP may doesn't support. And also, if using Microsoft Office 2007, for Windows 11 also doesn't Support anymore.
this is not a fair comparison as the system requirements have changed over the years and the latter versions would need at least 2020 hardware for their full capabilities
having them all the same makes sure that the loading times are almost completely dependent on the OS (which gets the actual speed), having the newer hardware would basically kill the purpose of it because of course things are going to be a lot slower back then
True. Microsoft started ruining 7 after Windows 10 was released. That's why I still use Vista, it never got ruined by the new spyware updates by Microsoft. XP is great but honestly aero is goated.
Windows 10 is not so bad, because it has provided apps that can be used and it can run apps very smooth. The worst thing is it is slow and it could restart the computer multiple times.
I tried Windows 7, 10 and 11 in virtualbox. My Windows 7 was faster than Windows 10 and 11. When I tried Windows 8.1, it's faster than Windows 7. Windows Vista was faster than Windows 7 because Vista runs SP2 while 7 runs SP1. When I tried Windows XP, not that slow.
Even if xp was middle of the pack its second to none when it comes to customisation from boot menu to actual OS. So much so an xp desktop can be made to look like a star trek panel you'd swear it wasn't xp you were looking at
This is because windows 11 is packed with a lot of features for example yhe modern UI Paint has a modern degin and other features didn't why windows 7 performed so poorly on a Solid State Drive
I think that 11 or 8: best 7 or 10: worst I think you speak like @TrigrZolt a lot. Startup determines nothing Great comparison! I run Windows 11 on my pc. In February I've got a green screen. If you used a vista supported laptop for every window then how win 11 can perform good supported opering systems have win 11 working extremely fast and xp would have win for sure it was like comparing temple run 2 speedtest on samsung s3 and s22 at same time😂
Yeah I admit that it wasn't exactly fair but that computer is the only one I have that can run Windows XP to 11 properly without serious modifications.

@@EverythingeeB This test proves nothing. It's running on crappy old hardware. It's like comparing windows 95 and Windows 7 on a Pentium 3 machine. The PC will obviously run better on Windows 95. Does that make it a better OS than Windows 7? God no.

Windows XP has the best apperance imo
XP, 7 & 10 LTSC are my favourites...
the best OS design and the fastest one ever is by far win 8.1
the most fuckin' underrated system
I still use 8.0 and 8.1 in VMs. Yes its decent not as fast as XP though but close.
People are so biased for W10 and 7

Agreed! XP was definitely the best OS when it came to theming it.
My conclusion is that performance differences are so small and inconsistent that it isn't a factor in deciding which system to use.
Based take tbh
Then you have never used XP or 7. Huge difference in loading speed of a VM. Windows 10 and 11 are pigs take much longer. XP is leaner and cleaner.
if you put the Startup on 0.5 its the Normal Speed (look at windows 7)
