hi..ive got an old krnwood vr507...wont pwr on no standby light....i plug in and test voltage coming out of transfirmer red black wires and i have 0dcv i assume this is why no power on?
Wires coming out of the transformer would be AC...plug the unit in and see if you have AC on the unswitched outlet on the back (if it has one), then see if you have AC on the switched outlet after you hit the power button. That's were my troubleshooting stops on something that new...posting a thread on Audiokarma would be your best bet...
hi..i only have .02v for standby on the standby circuit...there is a 3300uf 16v cap ...not bulged...any tips what could be issue too low standby voltage?
I feel you! Almost gave up on one of these myself. I commend you for not totally giving up on it. Good sounding and handsome little unit when they're working. Here's my adventure with the 4070: czcams.com/video/y8gbFIRuiUA/video.htmlsi=DjL9iT11TYos63tD
Agreed! Kenny's are sleepers in the vintage Hi-fi world. Snatch them up when you can find them. Keep the videos coming and the hobby alive! (I'm talking to myself here too) Thanks for saving another one from the landfill!
Sometimes you just gotta walk away for a few days.
Yup...I refer to it as 'not being on speaking terms' with a certain piece of equipment...
Thank you for the video buddy. You got a new subscriber 😊
Thanks for the sub!
Great advice on Q23. I need to replace Q19 & Q23. What did you use for equivalents? Cant find these anywhere
SM says Q23 was a 2SC945...I can't tell from the video, but it's either a KSC945 or KSC2383.

Buzzing? Both channels? Probably a PS issue and/or filter cap gone bad.

Thanks for the link! I’m partial to the KR 6600 (and the x600 line) myself…Kenwood gear offers pretty good bang for your buck.
