Brings back memories of working in a rubbber manufacturing plant. The fine print says to use 'kitty litter' to pick up oil spills. Well, if one is in a hurry, pickup the rubber dust from using the machine with the saw blades, the dust very quickly absorbs the oil. Not quite OSHA approved, but worked very well.

For applying oil or ATF to the rail, how about a small tank with a wiper on the rail connected with a small tube with a cut-out valve. Keep the tank topped up open the valve just before sawing and close the valve at the end of sawing; problem solved.

How can one “hate” metric? Me thinks the hate is more the problem of dealing with two separate measuring systems. Best solution, go for the easier system. Anyway almost all of our machinery now is metric, so investing in metric accessories makes more sense. I have been converting all my measuring tools to metric, and work in metric whenever I can. Truly is a lot easier, and more accurate.

May help. On the bolt, washer, nut trays. On the top of the bin, take a refrig magnet and place it on top of the bin. That will hold the lid of the drawer up for you while in use and saves on mashed fingers. Keep up the good job up there. I'm down in Maryville (Blount Co.)

Now, I know you are a smart man. Why would you use a brush that is 10 times too big for the job, and apply 10 times the oil needed, for the job? A cheap 2 inch paint brush would do it just as good.
You're not slopping syrup on pancakes!
Why not rig up a drip applicator with a soda bottle and a small valve and make it automatic and let it do the job hands free? Save oil and time while lubing the rail. Attach a small paint brush that sweeps the rail as the saw moves and drip the oil into the brush!

An interesting (at least to me ) is a proposed connection between the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon and the decrease in availability of the white oak: Passenger pigeons were hunted to extinction within the last 120 years and their demise has directly or indirectly led to a shift in America's forest composition. Another CZcams content presenter has expressed it far more eloquently than I can so I would leave you with: The History Guy: "How the Extinction of a Species Affected Whisky Production" czcams.com/video/b8BPANZzsyU/video.html
