DUDE I don't know how you do it. Backing into an intersection with a car that you can't see behind your trailer? 10/10 level of difficulty. Mad respect to you.

Non-truck drivers will never understand how it feels to see a freeway once coming out of a surface street lol every time I enter regular streets, I always feel I don't belong there. I feel comfortable once I see a truck driver in my area.

I remember years ago when I finished y training and got my own truck my first back was a blindside back in the middle of downtown LA. The place was so small they could only let one truck in the lot at a time and it took me over an hour to finally bump the dock. I ended up being banned for life from that place lol.

Reminds me of a dock I used to deliver to sometimes three times a day. Plus they'd want me to spot another trailer into the dock... After a while it's just another dock. And traffic... Well they'll figure it out if you go nice and slow. Here in Chicago they know the deal.

Im a new truck driver, and I am doing mostly downtown city work, with lots of incredibly difficult backings. From busy streets, to blocking traffic to doing it in pitch black not being able to see anything. As a new driver I understand how stressful and scary this is, knowing the next one might be the one you make a mistake on. But I push forward and hope that it will get easier with time and experience. But god damn I'm learning so fast lol, the other day I did a tight backing faster than most experienced guys do, thats what the security dude told me atleast.

We used to deliver to Sears stores in NJ. The docks were under the store in some locations. Blindside back, down a curving ramp into a dark loading dock and then you had to back around piles of crap, other trailers and vehicles and nobody would help guide you. My first delivery here took me 45 minutes to get it inside.

I'm a 17yrs Experience Driver and I've been in and out of Jersey alot. Yes there are quite a few EXTREMELY TIGHT Docks in Jersey and In NY as well but being Skilled and understanding that NO BACKINGS are the Same and each one brings a Different Challenge for you to understand and overcome.
The more you understand this rule and learn to deal with the different Docking Challenges that the Northeast brings up there, The better Semi Freight Hauler that you will become as your experience grows and the more Docking Challenges that you face.

I delivered to a beer whse in Denver that was set up just like ur del in Newark. The docks were all the way inside with only ur hood sticking out. I couldn't see a damn thing behind me either and had a truck on the dock to my rt so had to be extra careful. And the dock was on the truck exit of course. Makes for fun times.
