    My words are comfortable, feminine, rebellious ❤ I love contrasts not only in my wardrobe, but also in my life. I love edgy outfits, especially leather but I also love flowy dresses and puff sleeves, I guess it depends what season is. In the summer I always dress more feminine. My life is the same. I need adrenaline like skydiving, paraglading, rafting, rollerskating but I also love yoga, mindfulness, lazy days relaxing on the beach or hiking and forest bathing. Life would be too boring to live it on repeat.

    Soft/relaxed, minimal and modern/contemporary. And besides these style words, it’s really important for me to pay attention to the fabrics. If it’s not cotton, linen, wool or silk, I won’t reach for it, no matter how much I like the style of it.

    • @UseLess_dk
      @UseLess_dk  Před měsícem +5

      Yes very important observation with fabrics too! I completely agree 😄 A classic blazer feels more polished when it’s a light weight wool for example, whereas if it’s linen it nods more to the casual style personality 😊

    I still find my 3 words so hard to settle on! Earthy, soft, polished? My style is sort of cottage core mum/wealthy person at a country estate/going to a farmers market in the south of France 😅 I’ve always found describing these ‘scenarios’ or ‘personalities’ easier than 3 words..

    Signe, love this video. Your content is always *chef’s kiss*. I have a question for you and the community in general. Does anyone find that their style words change drastically depending on the season? My spring/summer style persona is very different from my fall/winter style persona and I don’t know if that is a barrier to having a more curated wardrobe. For spring/summer: Relaxed, feminine, 70s California, for autumn/winter: androgynous, British grandpa from the 40s.

    • @andricornelius
      @andricornelius Před měsícem +1

      I'm currently rocking British Grandpa from the 40s over here! (It's Winter in South Africa). This resonates with me as my style is definitely more elegant feminine (but not girly/frilly) in Spring/Summer.

    Whenever I find that my world is changing too much in one way or another, I'll use fashion/style as a means of reclaiming my own sense of self back, but then I'll start to feel like I'm using this form of expression in a way that doesn't feel authentic. A lot of my personal thoughts have been kept under wraps for far too long, and how this ties into my sense of fashion makes me realize that I hate it when I can''t be my truest self around the people who claim to care for me. Needless to say that there's a lot of evolving that's been happening, but I don't think some of these changes have been positive. I want my style to feel authentic to who I really am now, so the tips you represented in this video have been super helpful in weeding out what doesn't feel like me.

    Casual, relaxed, edgy, artsy, romantic 😂. I'll figure it out eventually. I wear jeans 99% of the time. I prefer an ankle length or cuffed. I'm still searching for the perfect black trouser. Sneakers, boots ( chelsea, Dr Marten) loafers, moccasins. Crewneck t's, sweaters, I LOVE a funnel neck, boatneck and bateau neck line. Nothing fitted. Relaxed, not sloppy. This is my look just about every day. I find that I add a little bit of "romance" when I have to dress up. A dressy look is the most challenging for me.

    My three style words are Classic, Creative, and Relaxed.
    I need my clothes to be easy to wear and reasonably professional in an office setting, but too classic bores me.
    I really like Romantic looks, Goth looks and Androgynous looks, but if I go to far toward any of them I feel like I'm wearing a costume, not clothes.
    I like clothes that are just a little more flowing and easy fitting, so relaxed but not oversized or I look like I'm drowning in fabric.

    This video was so helpful and I do use my words to help put outfits together:

  • @amyarcher4330
    @amyarcher4330 Před 26 dny

    Natural (as in, natural fabrics, an earthy color palette, no brand logos or prints, and more natural organic lines)
    Androgynous/classic (tailored items inspired by office wear, sturdy and practical, very blocky and reliable in terms of colour)
    Comfortable/practical/ease (nothing too tight, also nothing too loose that gets in the way, ready for anything, a utility feel like boilersuits and trenchcoats, can bike to work in these clothes).
    Looking at those three they sound so boring, but I think my fun comes in with playing with different color combinations, so maybe I should add "colorful" in there too. I'm all about finding the right shade of every color for my complexion, and I've now got a warm dusky rainbow in my wardrobe. 🎉❤😊

It seems a better fit for what I like than the descriptive words like corporate, conservative or professional, which you list under classic. My three style words: classic, elegant and feminine. Smart Casual is my style, I don’t dress as casually as most women, but that’s only because I would much rather wear a skirt outfit or dress than jeans or trousers. Most people consider even the most casual “draped bottoms”, skirts and dresses, more formal, even denim skirts and cotton t-shirt dresses, which surprises me. Most of mine are casual styles and fabrics, but I constantly hear “what are you so dressed up for?” I’m not, I’m just wearing a casual dress or skirt because they’re so much more physically comfy for me.

I like Elevated as a style type distinct from Classic. I don't want completely simple, clean lines like what happens with most Classic styles, I need that twist that Elevated offers. It's so much easier to approach future shopping with the mindset of going for something elevated.
