They even said it .. "Wiener Schnitzel" ... Breaking News: Austria is not part of Germany anymore!.... as a german the title alone "German Schnitzel" makes me go WHAT? and then the Sauerkraut with the red cabbage(Rotkohl) together on a plate is soo weird to me ! The bread looks great and its nice to see the craftmanship and care that he puts into his work but yeah the rest feels more like a touristtrap for americans who dont know the difference between Germany and Austria.
Ist so
(Wollte gerade was ähnliches schreiben.)
And it's neither a German nor a Wiener Schnitzel. Wiener Schnitzel is veal and fried in clarified butter
Good Example for the right way: czcams.com/video/1arGcHTQHaA/video.html
It isn't even Wiener Schnitzel. Wiener Schnitzel is ALWAYS veal, NEVER pork!
Damn, Covid shut down the restaurant permanently 2 months ago for staying open for 45 years, and Lee passed away in May sadly. What a sad ending to the legacy.
Aw man - what a sad end 🥹
that's depressing
Damn, rest in peace Lee. Sad way to end a beautiful establishment.
great food vlog bro
Delicious!!! You are great guy!!!!
Sieht sehr lecker aus! 🇺🇸👍🇩🇪👍
My heart aches when I see the stuff they sell as 'Pumpernickel' (as someone from the town/region where Pumpernickel bread was first created).
Just the bread looks German......the rest 🤷
i thought the exact same thing!!
True
I don't want to judge because I haven't tasted it but the salt on them bun scared me a little bit
As a German i say:“thats looks, and is not cooked like in Germany“
Disgusting!
@@strumpf0815 we dont eat Sauerkraut no more in Germany as Popular dish.Round about 50 years no more.
Only Tourists eat this Shit
But the Schnitzel looks Disgusting.
A Real Schnitzel needs 3 Things.
1:Eggs 2:Flour 3: Good Bread Crumps.
@@dodgerson2752 Ok sometimes Sauerkraut mit Kassler und Kartoffelpüree but maybe 2 times a year.
@@DSP16569 vieleicht 1xPro jahr.Maybee 1time per year.
@@dodgerson2752 Shit? Sauerkraut is lovely and great for your gut. try it on a hot dog
The Schnitzel doesn't look very german to me, though - and it's done very wrong! Anyway: As long as you like(d) it - why not!? o_O But don't call it "german", ok? o_O
Hey guy just wondering how many of these episodes of this show you do a year? Just curious! Are you surrounded by a host of nutritionists dietitians or weight loss experts because the way I see you pig out on these episode idol think you need these people around you for good measure!
You're talking about a scripted food travel show...... The hosts don't eat everything you see. They have a bite or two for the camera and then that's it. And everything is filmed over a few days.
The bread is to fluffy inside.
And it is loosen itself to easy from the crust.
that's as far away from actual german food as the US is from Germany.
Wow. that looks so bad.
Oh jus - not aww jus! A small thing, but it drives me crazy.
40+

That's not a wiener schnitzel. lol
"Wiener Schnitzel"
You would never serve red cabbage and saurkraut together except maybe in a coleslaw.
Neither of both is a sidedish to Wiener schnitzel.
You never would serve gravy with saurkraut.
A Schnitzel with gravy can never be a Wiener Schnitzel which is always served with a slice of lemon.
It's food evolution.
is maybe a good Food, but IT is Not Not german. Nobody would eat this here
Not in this combination.
Sauerkraut - cooked with a little bit black pepper, some cumin (maybe) and then slowly cooked for hours - or in a pan until it has burn marks.
Red cabbage as sweet cabbage yes with with apple purée but not always
Never Sauerkraut and red cabbage on the same plate.
Red Cabbage is good in combination with deer or other wild animal meat, Sauerkraut more for some kind of "sweeter" meat and some sausages (Nürnberger).
Schnitzel (with this souce I think they tried a hunter Schnitzel - Here the mushrooms are missing) and never put the sauce over the Schnitzel.
Schnitzel normaly with fries or Potato Salad or home fried potatoes with onions, mushrooms. And a slice of citron (for the Schnitzel).
With a ball pepper tomato sauce you get a (because of politcal correctness) hungarian style sauce Schnitzel (formerly known as Zigeunerschnitzel).
But never ever put the sauce on the Schnitzel.
Not authentic German cooking..... Weiner schnitzel is AUSTRIAN not German.... and it is VEAL not pork! Wein is Vienna, hence WEINER. No German in their right mind would eat Weißkraut (sour kraut) made like that nor would they put Rotkraut on the SAME PLATE!!!!! Most will put apple but NOT applesauce in Rotkraut, but NEVER in "sour kraut"
as a German i am disappointed
The title of the video says “German Schnitzel” , but they made a Wiener Schnitzel which any know is an Austrian dish with some Italian roots as well. It is not a GERMAN Schnitzel!
That's completely wrong. Wiener Schnitzel is made of veal and fried in a pan with much oil while the outside is bubbling away from the meat in some parts if you shake it in the right manner in the pan. It was german. But the thing they did wrong was pressing it hard together at high heat on a plate... The whole juices will go out and it gets dry.
Wiener Schnitzel is a very specific type of Schnitzel and garnish.
And Austrian is still a "German culture" like Bavarian, Swabian and so on.
Bruh this aint german, this is a mess.
worst "schnitzel" ive seen, jesus christ...
