Egan Bernal EXPOSES Doping in Cycling Today..

  • Egan Bernal is one of the best cyclists in the world today. He has achieved great positions in Tour de Romandie 2024 against Juan Ayuso, Volta Catalunya 2024 against Tadej Pogacar or against Jonas Vingegaard in Galicia. However, both he and the INEOS team of Carlos Rodriguez or Tom Pidcock are not the best in the world as in years past. That's why Egan Bernal wanted to tell us why this is happening and what is the solution he has for it.

Namely Demi Vollering on Stage 5 of La Vuelta Feminina.
She gapped the field and had a huge smile on her face at the top. No evidence her breathing was even minimally labored. I call BS. Another Dutchy on the Sauce. Geeez.

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 Před 14 dny +3

The differences is genetics. That's exactly why it's getting predictable. Genes don't change much from race to race.
Doesn't mean cycling has to be "clean." Just that Vingegaard didn't come up with some weird herring-derived hormones back in his fish days that only he knows about. Michele Ferrari and his ilk, are not in this to help one guy win. Their stuff, whatever it may now be that is not yet detectable, is available to anyone.
Instead, it is Watt meters, and even more so "smart"-trainers, combined with better analytics of every physiological facet underpinning cycling performance, that have allowed everyone to get close enough to genetic potential, consistently race after race, to let fundamental genetics matter much more than back when things were less precisely measurable and hence more variable.
Back when, cyclists' training, even at World Tour level, would vary by feel, how good their team mates felt, weather etc. Resulting in race-to-race variations big enough to help mask underlying genetic potential. Now, everyone is at genetic potential. In every race. And again: Genes don't change much between races.
It's also not just the stars. Everyone. Such that even team strategy can now be optimally calculated to ensure not just any lone challenger, but indeed any conceivable constellation of challengers and their domestiques, will have been reliably worn down to where even 3 of them cooperating in a chase, can't make up for Pog's slight, but consistent, genetic advantage.
Motorsports has had a similar issue for a long time: The car with the most powerful engine last race, still has the most powerful engine this race. In F1, they've introduced all manners of silly videogame like antics to try to make it "exciting" again. In cycling, we may end up where midstage bonus seconds awarded, end up becoming so generous, that they start overshadowing genetic differences. But if so, we're not really talking classic GC racing anymore.

You've never seen anyone who is training so precisely, specifically to achieve exactly that.
The far and away most obvious difference between the current crop of stars and previous ones, is the sheer 1000-optimized-variables precision training that smart trainers facilitate. There is no room for random, nor luck, anymore. All the guesswork is gone.
And you have seen someone in peak shape every race before: Car engines. All factors effecting human cycling performance is now almost entirely as well mapped out, understood and testable as engine performance is. Hence don't suddenly change from race to race anymore. Van der Vingepog's genetics just happen to blueprint a slightly bigger engine than what the others' do.

Just look at UAE who implode not even able to maintain a train at all, but it doesn't matter because Pogacar is so strong he can win from any km he decides to try. @@Evaso_CC that's funny. I'd be curious if you have a list? In a 3-week tour, doping would likely beat natural methods because hematocrit drops over time. To prepare for a single-day event, the science seems unclear whether EPO or bags are superior to altitude or hypoxia.

Will it surprise you that in the future we will have even more capable riders?
With the advancement of biology and knowing how the human body works, there will be more optimizations to make.
I feel like people think we know everything about the human body, yet we know so little and there is yet so much to be discovered. With every advancement in science there is room for possible optimization if you like it or not.
Also environmental changes can affect the performance. Everybody before 1995 but especially older riders will show much more contamination with led in their body thanks to capitalism allowing fuels with led... Do you know if that is already a huge advantage of newer generation riders?
Nutrition is also a huge thing to still be improved on especially since it is a highly individual based what might be right for you, and also depends on environment factors. We still don't fully understand how the gut works in every aspect.

I've been following this channel for a while and these doping allegations are just wild. Not a single convincing argument. And all this sassy, sarcastic talk is just sad.
Maybe this will convince you that people like tadej or jonas are natural athletes:
The body is a biological machine and we understand that machine and the effects of training and nutrition a lot better today then we did 20, 10 or even 5 years ago. There are more road cyclist than ever before and there is far more knowledge in the field.
You sound like a bunch of old guys still thinking 23mm tires, 200PSI, rim brakes and 5kg steel bikes are fast and disregard everything new as bullshit.
If riders talent is normal distributed(which it is), it is almost a statistical certainty that the top few riders will be significantly faster then all the rest.
I try to make it simple to you. If the Top GC riders of the TdF last year were all finishing in a time of a bit more than 82h, it might seem odd when the winner is a few minutes faster then 2nd place. But compare that to me a fit beginner cyclist with an FTP of 307W, I would finish the Tour not in less than 100h and my mom as a average commuter would probably need something like 200h. If you would compare all humans on GC you would see that the difference between the world tour pros is almost negligible compared to the rest of us. Vingegaard was just 0,2% faster than third place Adam Yates, yet that are 10min on GC.
Which again shows how important marginal gains are, which you seem to ridicule in your videos.
1% faster on a race like the Tour de France can make up 50min on GC.
Then nutrition... you downplay that effect a lot. Have you ever raced on like 30g of carbs per hour vs. 50-80g/h? This will likely increase your power output by 10-25%. The riders of today are not only faster then the doped athletes from yesterday because of improved bike tech and improved aerodynamic positions and bike fitting, it is mostly because of nutrition. Even with all the enhancing chemicals flowing through your blood, if there are no carbohydrates these PEs will get you nowhere because you are then always bottlenecked by your fat metabolism.
If you look at the List of tallest people on Wikipedia or any other List of natural mutations in humans, you will see that the margin between the first 5 entries of the list is far greater than between 10th, and 15th. That is just how nature works. Pros today are all riding the same bikes, eating almost the same and training pretty similar, the biggest distinction are the genetics. And just a fraction of a percent improvement, will look huge on long distance event.
