  • These singer/songwriters are based in south Georgia. In this video, Chris, Jarrod, Jen, Rob and Kenji perform the Bob Dylan classic “I Shall Be Released” at The Turner Center For The Arts as the finale for the Songwriter Showcase 2024.
Jarrod has been writing and singing songs around the Southeast for more than 25 years. As a native of Lowndes County, his music evokes the Southern Americana experience through many genres of influences. The singer/songwriter life has rewarded Jarrod with some tremendous opportunities and friendships, and he continues to perform, write, and record as often as possible.
Jen Anders is a singer/songwriter based out of south Georgia. She finds inspiration for her sound out of her early roots in Gospel, Country, and Folk music and her later love of Blues, Jazz, Classic Rock and Americana. Her music though, has simply arisen from her life. Some of her originals are love songs, some are about loss, some are about whiskey drinking, and some are about the cost ...but all of them have a little something to say about real life.
Rob was born in Philadelphia and spent his formative years in Troy, Ohio. Rob was raised in a house filled with music. His father was a jazz and big band tenor sax player and his mother a pianist. His sister became a professional singer/songwriter while Rob spent his time competing in track and gymnastics. While in college, Rob picked up guitar after a pole-vaulting injury sidelined his sports career and he played in several groups. After relocating to Valdosta, Rob played with Swift & Evans, Smothers & Evans and was a founding member of the regionally popular band, Skannyardle. Rob‘s music is shaped and influenced by people, places, and personal experiences.
Kenji hails from Sebring, Florida, and had the privilege of growing up in a musical home and being trained extensively in the church. He has performed in a wide array of venues and events in Florida, Kansas, Illinois, Texas, and Georgia and has opened for nationally known artists. Kenji is an endorsed artist with Studiologic keyboards and has represented them as a performer at NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants). Kenji’s vast and impressive music training includes a B.A. in Music Education, a Masters in Choral Conducting and he is currently pursuing a Certification in Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Choral Conducting. Kenji has served as the Director of Music Ministries at Valdosta FMC in Valdosta, Georgia since 2016. He has also served as the Choral Director of the Valdosta Choral Guild since 2021. In addition to these responsibilities, Kenji teaches private lessons in voice and piano. Kenji performs throughout the South Georgia and North Florida area.
Chris Falcon was born and raised in south Louisiana and was influenced by the rich culture of the area outside of Baton Rouge. Chris has lived throughout Louisiana, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Texas and now Georgia. This nomadic journey has led to great friendships and incredible musical experiences. Chris’s songs reflect the happiness and heartache of a life well-traveled.
