Note: These missions are being done after completing the Layton Lake reserve and therefore I may be using equipment and perks/skills that aren't accessible if this is your first reserve.
This is definitely the most time consuming mission in the game!
Luckily this mission will activate as soon as you taxidermize a diamond animal. On my very first visit to Parque Fernando I bagged and taxidermized a Diamond water buffalo and it counted towards the mission.
The worst thing about this mission is that luck and RNG will play hugely in how easily you complete this. I found my Diamond Axis deer (three in fact), water buffalo, cinnamon teal and puma as I was completing the other missions (I got very lucky with the puma, as it was bugged and was frozen in place as it tried to flee). The blackbuck took me very little effort to find (I hunted about 50 before my diamond appeared). However, for the mule deer I had to grind over 350 of them before a diamond finally appeared.
I would focus on one species at a time, find need zones (especially drinking ones) and set tents up a couple hundred meters away from them. Set the time to about 30 minutes after the need zone is active and go around taking down as many males as you can. When the need zones are no longer active sleep in a tent and change the time back to 30 minutes after the zones activate again and repeat the cycle.
Try to thoroughly check each animal at a need zone if there are several. With my mule deer I didn't even realize it was there until I shot another one and the Diamond fled. The same happened with my blackbuck and red deer, and I almost didn't see the legendary water buffalo.
It's worth investing in the Treestand and Tripod DLC pack. The Tripod allows for a clearer shot, can help you see animals drinking that you couldn't see on foot, and creates less hunting pressure, meaning areas clear of hunting pressure faster. The only downside is that you don't want to be closer than about 130m from the animals as you'll spook them setting it up, and some terrain won't allow you to place it; and it'll take up a chunk of you weight limit; but other than that it is a very helpful tool.
Lastly if you have spotted a Diamond drinking/resting it should be linked to that need zone now. If you spook the animal it should return to this zone or be there if you rest and come back when the zone is active. You could also quit the game and re-enter it and the Diamond should be there. I don't want to guarantee it but when I first found my Diamond axis deer I spooked it and never caught up. Eventually I gave up and in the next in game morning the Diamond was where I had first spotted it. The same thing happened with my blackbuck. I shot one blackbuck and then spotted the Diamond fleeing, but I didn't see it return, so I quit the game, re-entered, travelled to another outpost (so I could get a clearer view of the need zone) and the Diamond was back. It's a good idea to backup your save (if you can) frequently, and if you do decide to quit the game after spotting a Diamond make another back up save before re-entering the reserve.
Completing this horrific mission will unlock the trophy/achievement A Sample of Parque Fernando's Finest. - Hry
Just started this challenge, it’s going to be a serious grind. First animal I saw was a legendary puma heart shot it got a gold. This was before I knew about the diamond challenge 😢
It really sucks when a legendary turns out to be gold. I was lucky to get a few diamonds while completing other missions, but spent weeks grinding mule deer until I got a diamond.

Luck does play a big part of it. I would focus on completing other missions first, just in case you happen to come across any diamonds on the way. After that I would focus on drinking spots, and only take out males, as an animal of the same gender will spawn when one is harvested, so there's no point hunting females.
Make sure to harvest the animal too; I made the mistake of just shooting mule deer and thought I was saving time by not running around the lakes harvesting them, only to find out that if you don't harvest an animal it will respawn.

Yeah, I started using the portable stand in the hopes of bagging more mule deer. It's very handy!
0:06 I saw my first 9-Legendary Water Buffalo in a drinking zone not too far away from the Lookout Point - Mirador de Perito Moreno - it was fleeing cause a Puma drinking zone later I came back armed with the King 470DB Zenith, both lungs, and I got a black and orange colors
Yeah, I hate the way puma just call out and everything flees, especially when approaching a lake where you don't know what will be there yet. Glad you managed to get it though!
Any tips on the blackbucks? This night hunting is seriously a pain, and I have never seen such a large number of them like you had lol.
If you want to avoid hunting them at night then I would try finding some feeding need zones; preferably ones that go from 1500-1830. What I like to do sometimes is follow tracks backwards, so you might find a drinking zone, follow the tracks backwards until you find an eating zone. It doesn't work all the time, but it can help.

I'm not able to complete the mission. The icon to display the jaguar trophy does not appear.
Dumb question, but are you sure you taxidermized a Diamond puma? I'm not sure what happens if you just harvest it.
Same thing happened to me. I harvested the Puma, taxidermized it and went to the lodge marked. It wouldn't do anything. It's my first diamond for this reserve as well. Actually the first puma shot too.
I wonder if you have to harvest all the diamonds first; that's what I did. Maybe the icon for placing it is really hard to get to show. In some of the latest reserves such as Mississippi I find it hard sometimes to get the prompt to rest at an outpost to show. I end up having to crouch walk into the bed and look at it on a weird angle.

7:12 I have Good News: At last, I finally found another Diamond, the sixth species in the hunting reserve: Parque Fernando
5-Medium (Diamond) Blackbuck, first I saw him coming out the bushes to eat in a Feeding zone at 14:00pm till 17:30pm with other male Blackbucks, his score rating when I saw him through the binoculars was 117-137 (Trophy Rating - 135.10) right passed the rating of 132.2, successful shot in the lungs and heart with the Ranger 243 about 156.56 miles away by luring it a bit closer with Antler Rattler
Nice! This is one of the things I don't like with this game - diamonds can be a real pain to spawn. It didn't take me long at all to get a diamond blackbuck, but the mule deer took forever!

Yeah, I try avoiding hunting at night too. I got real lucky with my puma. It was at a lakeside and froze when trying to flee.

I only see lots of boring 2-Minors male Teals, no 3-Very Easy, I searched every lake where they feed and rest at.
I got lucky with the teal; I didn't know about the difficulty relating to the trophy rating. Once I found at that I needed a 3 I spotted it immediately.
The puma was super lucky for me. They seem to be broken and sometimes instead of fleeing they freeze on the spot. I was crashing around looking for a challenge circle and just happened to see it frozen there.
All I can recommend is just keep harvesting any males and going through need zones. Eventually a diamond will spawn. At least teals are always on water and pumas aren't in packs, so spotting them is a little easier.

Nice! Despite red deer appearing on a few maps this was my first. The game decided to drop to half speed once I spotted it, and I had to follow it's tracks for ages before I got a clear shot.

Yeah, it's not common, but has happened to me a few times. I got to bag a few red deer because they wouldn't flee.
I placed the puma and only stones appeared, no puma..
Do you have the other Diamond mounts yet? What does the mission objectives say? When you open the mission in the mission menu it should have a list of all the Diamond animals you need to taxidermy, with the ones you've done (like the Puma) crossed out. It should also have a list of the ones you need to mount in the lodge; is the Puma crossed out? If so I would assume that if you mount the other animals the mission will complete. If not then I'm not sure what you can do. Was it a diamond puma? I haven't done much with trophy lodges, so I'm not sure if you can remove and remount the animal.
I collected all the diamonds and completed the mission, but it didn't unlock the trophy
Are you sure the mission is completed? Did you display all the trophies in the lodge? Have you checked the trophy list to make sure the trophy hasn't popped?
@@jonotakesongames9361 yes, only the Mule Deer diamond was missing, I did it yesterday after the new update 1.68, but it did not unlock the trophy, I restarted, it was synchronized, but nothing of the trophy
