When the facts about the shoes was mentioned (two wearers and specific motorcycle markings) I thought that the FBI had been called in. Was very surprised that a town had such sophisticated investigators in 1953.
Police were much better and more intelligent back in the day. Today they rely too much on technology and dna
I was Evelyne's age that year, and babysat for spending money. Never occurred to anyone at that time that there was any danger. So sorry for Evelyne and any of her surviving family.
You were fifteen in 1953??
And they say your generation are computer illiterate~ Bosh!
Love that you are enjoying CZcams, and clearly have no trouble navigating the internet!
Or as my generation used to say when I was that age.... You go, girl/Sid!🩵
Heartwrenching💔 Thanks for your respectful essay on Evelyn's case.
Just wanted to say thank you for all you guys do. This podcast definetly helps the workday pass a little faster.
My favourite way to spend a weekend night ... Thank you for your respectful, compassionate reporting 🌺
34 years later he dug the tape out for the researchers. You gotta hate these people.
I was just thinking the same thing.
So many cases could be solved if people would just come forward with the information they are sitting on. Those people are just despicable.
@@mamamoomin will make you mad. And lives saved if they'd came forward at the time.
Perfect saturday thanku casefile ❤
I agree ☝️
@@suzbay8932 Evelyn disagrees
For God's sake it takes so little effort to pick up the phone and call the police
You clearly don't have crippling phone anxiety
11 am on a Saturday morning in Ireland n I'm so sick with the flu n this is just want I need thank you xxx
Wishing you well soon. I so hate being ill. ❤️🌹
Best medicine you can get!!!
I'm listening while nursing a miserable head cold in SW Washington state. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
@@brandyjean7015 hope we both have a speedy recovery and at least we have Casefiles to help take our minds off our colds for a bit, love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤
It's going around here in Southwestern Mexico. You can't escape bugs. Hope you're feeling better today.
My heart broke over Evelyn's case. How sad that her parents both lived the rest of their lives with such pain and no justice.
Have a feeling “when a stranger calls” is based on this case. Only read the description and still listening to the adverts 😉
True he was peeking at Evelyn the thought is so creepy and sad 😢..
awesome 👏 Saturday morning before going to work!!!
Perfect presentation! 👍
A perfect way to pass the time while at work.
Another well-produced podcast...of another heart-wrenching tragedy.
Love the case, but in relation to Ed Gein his case is so in depth and how he went about it could been made into a 3 parter case as his strange style is a rarity and reasons why he did it is shocking but interesting
Who records a conversation about a potential murder and just stashes it away in the basement for 30 years??!! Poor Evelyn. I hope she didn't suffer.
I honestly like the explanation that is most favored by investigators: that the perpetrators were actually trying to rob the place and panicked when they found Evelyn in the home. Signs of attempted forced entry were found at the neighbors house and most of the townsfolk were away at a giant football game, which would have made it a prime night for burglars to assume they had an open shot at houses.
I love the sound of the narrator's voice
This is such a good channel. You do awesome work on these cases all the way around. Your accent is the best part though😊 Thank you for sharing such great content.
It took a guy 34 years to turn over a recording/ possible evidence. He could have done that much sooner.
Poor Evelyn hope she didnt suffer and it was over quickly for her x
Just what I needed this morning... Thanks you guys!
Me: Hearing Plainfield and the name Worden "Business is about to pick up!"
nice one, writers, well done.
Finallyyyyy a Wisconsin case !!!
Wisconsin is definitely full of crazy cases to choose from!
@@emmagatewood3898 steer me to the right direction where to listen??? I want to listen to some!!!
Mums: always go with your gut.
Dads: listen to your wives.
If they had acted sooner she might’ve been saved - ffs leaving it over 2 hours?? Really??!!
Evelyn also felt off about it 😢
Saturday night, let's do it
The ads make this almost unlistenable. There's too many, it's a real shame.
The FBI could have got involved Evelyn was abducted poor girl.and her poor family such suffering 😢

👏👏👏
Why did they do this to her?
Ed Gein's mother was no "devout Christian"--true Christians are humble and don't treat others like that.
Unless you are gay or atheist
How many people have been killed in the name of Christianity. More than all the world wars combined.
Even devout Christians fail, or have severe mental difficulties.
Humanity is always imperfect, and why it seeks it’s redeemer.
yeah the last name gives it away...not christian more like S.O.S....
You may wish to investigate the No True Scotsman fallacy.
Did they really go into the story of Ed gein at the end of but Evelyn case fun fact he never did see a day of prison spent the rest of his life in a mental institution
Will check this out on YT 👍
The amount of advertising in this video is RIDICULOUS. Every 5 minutes, LITERALLY, 5 minutes of commercials. I'm 15 minutes in and have had 9 commercials! Not worth the aggravation.
For real
Subscribe and no adds simple😮
This video has far too many ads you should be embarrassed
I doubt they're all his ads it seems to me CZcams is the reason for it especially the Government money scams..
.
So, maybe you should ante-up and pay Casefile directly. That way, they can cut back on the adverts.
OK, some stories are really so gross…the butcher of women? Maybe give a warning, you know?
You mean like 1:36
they did….
its murder podcasts what do you expect?
He did warn us you must not have heard it
.
Uh it's about murder's maybe you cant handle listening to them there more disturbing cases than Ed Gein's..
