Hi, just watched this motor removal vid . My motor is now out of warranty so going to do a bearing replacement and internal service.
I was mainly looking for the battery connection removal but your information was very interesting, somewhat cringy watching you struggling.
Thanks for taking the time to produce the video.
I’m in Manchester UK & riding a Nukeproof Megawatt.

Thanks for your efforts. I have exactly the same bike and this could be helpful ad I need to change out for xt brakes and motor may need to be removed if I can't get the new hose through. Cheers you are a legend

Mate you were killing me watching you put the cables back in. There is a shimano tool that makes removal and insertion of the cables a 2 sec job. Lucky you didn't damage them using long nose pliers 😀

Cheers for the heads up on the tools.
I am aware watching me can be a wild ride. 😉
Don’t attest to be a how to video. 👍🏼

@@justaride1474 sorry just saw your question. Yep that is the tool. I would also get the other one that fits the newer and thinner plugs used on the ep8.. it's the TL-EW300

Don't see that one listed on pushys but other stores have them

Given the tight tolerances - what happens if the motor breaks and they no longer make that exact one? Is there a standard for these motor shapes?

Good question man. I know the predecessor e8000 drive unit is the same external shape.

Is it necessary to remove the crank arms to get the motor off? I don't have that big socket tool you used to remove that bottom bracket do-hicky. Cool video by the way. Thank you for making it.

I can’t see the crank arm removal necessary for motor removal. You should be right to take it out. 👌🏼👌🏼

that's a nice motor by far, i guess it is easier to start from the rear inserts then slide it up front when reinstalling. :-)
