My home is an 1800 square foot, single story house that was built in 2004. It is a typical, early 2000's American style home with an open concept living room and kitchen with more closed concept bedrooms. The ceiling height in the living room is approximately 20 feet high and it is the largest room in the house. The bedroom and kitchen ceiling height is approximately 9 feet.
I reside in Arizona, which is a hot and dry climate (most of the time). Winters are considered mild in comparison to other parts of the northern U.S. I am currently running my air conditioning and ceiling fans around the clock and will likely be doing so until early October. Ambient internal temperature averages about 77 degrees right now.
Please take all of these factors into account when you hear my opinion about how well a candle performs in the area of strength and throw.

Hi Katie, thank you for your review of this candle. I picked this one up a few months back during the bogo sale. Mine does not have a pour date, but came with a metal lid so I suspect it is a little older than some of the recent 3 wicks that are coming with a plastic lid. My candle has been quite strong and is behaving much like the first candle you had experience with in this scent. I am noticing a yellow discoloration on the glass as this candle is burning down, and I've never seen anything like that before on any other Kringle's I've burned, so that is quite odd. I hope Kringle is able to fix whatever is going on with the inconsistency people have been experiencing lately.
I'm so glad you reviewed this candle Katie! I had my eyes on it when I made my purchases during the Memorial Day sale. I ended up purchasing something else instead due to the banana note since I have enough banana scents for the Summer. It could be the repour/batch variation...it happens 🤷🏽♀️.
I actually just filmed my candle chat video that I’m planning to put up tomorrow & I think the issue is that they changed the wicks from last year. It looks like they used the wicks that they were using in the Spring Country lineup that everyone complained about them getting puny. I know they put in different wicks for these new Reserve candles & they are burning much better. I wish they’d all just find good wicks & leave them alone!
Uh oh, sorry to hear about this performance, the banana and coconut water does sound unique. Happy burning, Goose Creek's Hibiscus Fruit Punch is almost gone :( I've enjoyed the scent.
Thanks for sharing, Katie.🤗 I agree on trying to avoid steep energy bills. I’m in Central Valley/SoCal- I keep my home at 78 in up to the 90s days & 76 when it’s over 100. Agreed that the 100% soy wax is cleaner than the discontinued soy & paraffin blended wax. In my experience, some of the 3 wicks I receive are lighter than others & usually stronger than 2 wick medium & large jars. My favorite Kringle 3 wicks are Berry Clouds & Sicilian Orange. 🍊
Berry Clouds was really good! I’m so glad someone else understands the plight of electric bills in the summer months here.
I’m hoping I’ll get better performance out of my second one.

I live in Texas so I feel ya with trying to keep the electric bill below $1000 in the summer! So disappointing when a candle doesn't work out, especially when it's a repurchase. How weird that there isn't a pour date on it. 🤷🏻♀️
The lack of pour date really is interesting to me. I love the scent on this so much that I would definitely give it another try next year.
Such a difference in burn experience! That's too bad there weren't batch codes listed or some other clue as to the reason why like wick changes or a formula tweak. Side note: my thermastat is set to 80 but since my family has a cool roof it helps keep the house around the 70s. Still burning candles in warmer temps can be a bit too much!
I suspect that the wicks were changed & that’s why I’m experiencing such a different burn.
One of the things I miss about SoCal is that it cools off in the evenings (most of the time). It’s still stupid hot here overnight. 🙄🤦🏼♀️

I don’t have this candle so I don’t have an opinion on it.
Just my opinion on Kringle… I don’t think they have nailed down the formulation of Soy candles at this time. I’ve had some of their candles that just had little to no throw at all. Others finally would throw when I had reached the halfway point of the candle. That’s unfortunate to burn a candle and half of it is virtually scentless. Then there are others that had a perfect burn and very good throw. Example was Cozy Christmas. The throw for me was about an 8-9.
Maybe some candles would do better with a Soy/paraffin blend instead of straight soy 🤷🏻♀️ I’m thinking it has to do with the fragrance oils. Of course the correct wicks are important too. I’m sure there are other variables.

Ohh… we have our thermostat set at 77. Saturday the temp here was 100. We’ve been in the high 90’s but it has been raining here so now we are dealing with the humidity and the mosquitoes 🦟
I actually completely agree with your logic. I think certain fragrance oils work better with the soy wax than others, plus the addition of wick selection. I notice even in other brands that some fragrances will burn clean as a whistle & others will get sooty so fast (I notice this with a lot of BBW gourmands), even though they have the same soy/paraffin wax blend. I’m sure there’s so much more science behind the creation of all candles.
Oh I HATE mosquitos. We’ll have them here in the late summer when we start to get thunderstorms & humidity. I swear those creatures belong in the pit of 🔥
