I’ve always considered these type of projects as willing it into existence .👍✌️😎
Haha yes , gotta make do with what you got!
In my mother's own words, you can make something out of nothing well done, mate 👍🏽
Cheers mate , that’s always the best way !
The holes in the stems could be for ventilation during welding.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh that’s a good point! My welding knowledge is lacking 😂
Keep it up. You're a great dad, Gary.
Thanks man just do my best 🙏
Best dad ever.
haha Ty just try my best 🙏
Great work. Consider painting the parts you added. Filing the sharp edges exposes bare steel and will rust. Also the cut off stems.
Cheers mate !
Dear Gary: Wide loaders on the right and on the left on Xtracycle Leap Free Radical would be interesting.
Dude would love to get them but so hard to find !
Very good job Gary! Love the solutions through improvisation
Thanks my dude ! Worked out in the end 😊
Such a smart build :)
Haha thank you my dude ! 😊
you can velcro the seat to the board with some stronger velcro tape
Oh ya that’s true !
Aw it looks like she’s having so much fun!
Hahah yes she’s has a blast, must be fun to ride when someone else is doing the pedaling 🤣🤣🤣
super cool and cute
Thank you! 😊
Very cool! i love the creative use of the quill stem as a foot-rest. you might really wanna invest in a vice at some point. They are not terribly expensive and do help out a ton when sawing and stuff :)
Thank you mate hahah yeah I don’t have anywhere to mount it to at the moment but maybe in the future. Cheers !
why do you need a vice, or stepping on the stem? put it in the hole on the extracycle, *then* hacksaw the end off. built-in vice!
Hahha tru that ! I should’ve done that !
Just awesome 👏
Thx u my dude !
Dad bike keeps getting cooler! 🤘
cheers mate ! loving it haha
Fantastic evolution of the beast. The seat looks really comfy. One tip from a motorcyclist for your passenger is to look past your left arm on a left turn and right on a right. Might help with the turning.
Cheers mate ! Oo that’s a good tip I’ll let my passengers know !
Awesome. Your daughter must be stoked getting to ride on the back
Cheers mate ! Ya she was super stoked 😊
Great Idea! A am looking also for something suitable for me. But the main question is where to find these clamps
I got the handlebar brackets from bunnings , a hardware store in Australia
this turned out great!! i really enjoy seeing your step by step process
Thank you ! Pretty stoked with how it turned out !
Love these gear talks, thanks for making them 👍 cheers
Cheers man thanks for watching 💕
YES Gary. This is great. YTDs.
Cheers mate i appreciate that !
keep on the lookout for stuff to DiY a two sided kickstand. They are a must when you want to park a loaded Cargo Bike.
Definitely on the to do list!! I think most people convert a Vespa stand , but haven’t really seen much parts around here. Will work something out though !
Awesome!❤
Thank you ! 💕
Nice Build👍🏽Best dad ever!
Cheers mate! Just try my best haha !
The best bike I’ve ever seen!
Thank you my dude I’m stoked on it! Use it all the time
Maybe your LBS has some fork protection blocks from shipping?
Oh yes ! Good idea
@@garysprojects hope that works out for you; it was the first thing that popped in my head when seeing the damage.
Cool bike Gary! 👍👊
Thank you James!
Rad build man, the creative repositioning of the Swytch unit was fun to watch in that previous video, the extra-cycle is sweet too. In your experience, is there any way to use the Swytch to operate head/taillights in the same way as a dynamo hub? It would be sweet to round this monster out with some hardwired lights.
Cheers man ! I did look it up I think you can connected it but then it always stays on, so I stopped researching after I found that out. Maybe it’s possible to install a on and off switch
@@garysprojectsSick, thanks for looking into it!
This is epic mate!!! I spotted the cushion on your Insta post before I even noticed a new vid. Nice work on the cushion and the foot pegs (keep those quill bolts!!)
Stoked to see the riding shots too. That looks so epic and fun. Doubling on bikes is always so fun☺️
Shoutout the old Daiso Gorge st Sydney. Long gone now😢
Cheers mate! Haha yes been running the cushion , kid likes it for sure. Haha yes I’m glad i stopped and got some riding shots, well worth it just to see what it’s like.
Dude, the daiso right by me closed down too RIP 😭
@@garysprojectsawesome!! Thank you for sharing this. It really helps seeing how big the bike is and how much cargo (and humans) it can actually handle, and how it looks cruising around.
There is a fellow in my town with an Urban Arrow. He has his two young ones in the tray area, it even has a convertible style rain cover thing that he uses in poor weather. Extremely pricey though😬 I much prefer the diy ethos of your builds, especially getting yourself AND your child, AND your cargo around the place, and doing it with style☺️
… yes, it’s a pity about daiso, they were always great to check out for knick knacks and bits and pieces. I miss them🥺
@bigbadstretch13yrago ya it’s super handy to be able to carry everything for sure ! Can do longer rides and don’t have to worry. Just gotta be careful the kiddo doesn’t get too comfy other wise they will never ride 😂
Love this build! I have a form quick release mount that I’d imagine would work great for hauling a second bike like your trying to do. Mount the mount on the back on the cargo platform and attach your daughters bike to it. That way it’s centred?
Ya I would love to make something like that , my only concern it makes the bike super long but shouldn’t be too bad !
MacGyver's an amateur next to you.😁
Hahaha cheers mate ! 😭😂
What's the name of the frame in the back? The one that converted the bike into a cargo bike.
Diamond back ascent , I have a restoration/build video on it if keen
what pedals are those? they look huge!
They are odyssey triple traps
