- In this video "Pigeon training, New Racing Pigeons and Birmingham Roller Pigeons" I show my routine for basketing the racing pigeons (white racing homers) and taking them out for a training toss. Also show 7 new racing pigeons and 1 new bald head Birmingham roller pigeon. The young roller pigeons are having their morning fly and trap for their feed. Very enjoyable video I hope you enjoy it.

Man that basketing system you got is great. Worst part of every morning for me is going into the loft and catching every pigeon before im even fully awake
I have caught them in my loft but it was difficult so I needed to try something. After about the fifth time they seemed to get the idea. Thanks for watching buddy.

This is super cool! How do you train them to go back into the loft? How do they know that they need to push that to get inside?
Good question, you keep them in a cage outside the loft with access to the trap if they ever plan on coming in to get something to eat or roost, they will have to jump through the wires. You just let hunger in time do the work and repeat the process every day until they come through without any hesitation.

WoW, what a video with great clarity! what were the pigeons flying rollers? I did not see them do any acrobatic things in the air. and why do you say they are done eating when they are scrambling and eating every single grain in the bin and looking for more. is this what you do to make them return quickly into the lofts. I will check out your other videos as I have subbed to maybe get some answers!!
THE PIGEONS FLYING WERE ROLLERS AND THEY WERE VERY YOUNG SO NOT TO MUCH ROLLING YET. I DO NEED THE PIGEONS TO ENTER THE LOFT QUICKLY AFTER LANDING SO THEY WON'T BE EASY TARGETS FOR THE HAWKS. MOST PROBLEMS WITH PIGEONS COME FROM OVERFEEDING AND IT TAKES SOME EXPERIENCE TO KNOW THE RIGHT AMOUNT BECAUSE PIGEONS ARE PROFESSIONAL BEGGARS. THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING AND COMMENTING 👍 ✌️

Rollers are looking great mate, hopefully I’ll have a few soonish 🤞🏻 I have my rollers sitting on racer babies 😂😂, your new ressecive reds look awesome mate, and I love black pigeons there my favourite, hope they all fly well for you mate!! Birds smashed in from 5miles!! Will have to take them further next time, just keep and eye on the ones panting real bad, they might have an infection inside to be panting that hard compared to your other ones,

I am worried about the ones that are panting. I hope it's just that some are more sensitive to the heat. If they do have an infection I don't know what to do about that because I never had that before! Ya they are homing pretty well now and the old birds don't fool around they come strait home and the young just seem to follow so I might have to split them up soon. Thanks mate. 👍
Rocky Ridge Kennel & Loft, how hot was it when you tossed them?? And were they all young birds?? Could just be abit of canker maybe or abit of respiratory mate, it could also mean when the older birds shot for home the younger ones couldn’t quite keep up yet, that’s awesome mate, yeah maybe just spilt them up and give the younger ones a couple tosses back to back on there own than put them with the older ones from the same spot, I noticed that with mine the other week, my race fit birds shot for home and the slower ones got stuck and couldn’t keep up, cheers mate

So not to bad but they did better the next day. Tomorrow I'm going to get them out earlier (cooler) and twice as far to see how it goes! They just got off an all in one med. that has something for respiratory in it. Who knows mate. I'll just keep them flying! Thanks for your input and I think that most likely you are right that it has something to do with the older birds. ✌️
