✨I think you can keep it open you’ll just have to water it manually instead to maintain the humidity 🌿
Also there’s a variety of large glass jars with lids /cloches you can find at flea markets,thrift stores,etc. 🌱🌿✌️✨

Face Meat Light&Humidity. The humid environment and photosynthesis will make the plants use the oxygen and release carbon dioxide at night and it will keep doing that within the closed jar during the ecosystem process🌱terrariums are pretty much self sustaining mini greenhouses✨

Most of the moss that you buy in bags in the store is not alive and will turn brown over time, even if it is dyed. I work at a nursery. We see this on a regular basis. If you buy moss that is rooted in the soil, you can help keep it alive by making sure it doesn't dry out too much. A terrarium would be a good environment.
