Great idea for a review. Enjoyed it. I have an acoustasonic tele and it sounds great. I've managed to get some amazing acoustic-like sounds out of it that I think are on par with some of the best acoustics I have played. Some of that comes down to amps and venues. But I liked your approach and, yes, you highlight the greatest joy of this guitar -- It's the very first one you want to pick up to play on the couch. So much fun!
I watched this again and I actually had no memory of the first time (scary, but true).
Great job! I agree that no plugged in acoustic guitar sounds good. This is as good as any. I also think that this "hybrid" guitar is a category unto itself.

I already have plenty of guitars at home (Classical nylon, steelstring acoustics and a Tele and a Les Paul), but search for a new versatile lightweight all-in-one stage guitar, that's easy on my hurting back and will help me to explore new sounds and occasionally rock a dirty bit. I wanted a HSS strat, but all of them are too heavy for my back, so that's why I looked into the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster (because of the humbucker). I think about getting the American version, for the most soundoptions, but that one has a serious pricetag, so hopefully it proves it's worth 😅

Great review. It would be interesting to see you give a similar review of the PRS Hollowbody ii Piezo. That's more of an electric covering the job of an acoustic. It might suit you better on your gigs. Just a thought 😜
Hey Julian! Appreciate this video. I’ve had this guitar in my Fender cart for weeks and have been looking for guidance from other people similarly situated (not a great player - however, I think you don’t give yourself enuf props truthfully) to help me make the decision to purchase. I need to play quietly, most of the time. I was going to get the mustang micro personal amp and some decent headphones so as to attempt a reboot of my guitar playing self. If you have an opinion - and wouldn’t mind sharing - I’d love to know if you think this guitar would work in that situation. I really enjoyed the video and I love your style and personality. Thanks again for sharing this video.
I like your approach to reviewing this guitar and the choices of what to play and what to compare it to were smart.
But i really wished you played every different tone in isolation because it's extremely hard with youtube compression and not-great speakers to hear the subtle differences in the tone.
As a folk-punk musician playing an acoustic who's been looking at this guitar for a while now, THANK YOU! You're spot on about people reviewing this guitar in a frustratingly one-sided way most of the time.
So, it seems like if your just using the raw sound, the acoustasonic is a guitar that tries to do both, but kind of falls short of either? What were your experiences combining it with pedals/effects to help boost that tone?
Pedals make this guitar amazing to be honest! It’s a very fun sound to play with!

Actually, this is a very great review. I think that Fender would not like you saying this is not a "normal" or "regular" guitar. Also I play acoustic and I consider it to be normal and regular.

Just to clarify- the Player series sounds *much* different than the American Custom series. The EQ choices and modeling all sound more realistic. I've heard side-by-side comparisons, and the MIM can't keep up. Love the 9 volt battery, though.
I think you are right on the whole. However, of you compare a simulated all-mahogany guitar with a sitka spruce (the Yamaha) you cannot complain that the former sounds boxy. Should have tried the other sound for that.
Sadly I didn’t even know this guitsr existed til a week after I ordered the telecaster acoustasonic or I’d definitely rather have this one. Lol. Oh well. Guess I’ll just buy both

I’m kind of tired of CZcamsrs who get the stuff for free and don’t really use it before reviewing. And now it’s the best time to buy this one used and it’s still probably better than the new highway ones.
