- The mid year school holiday is finally here!! I got out work early to dip my rod on the Shorncliffe Pier on Brisbane north side. I haven't fished here during the day time before and so far I had very little luck. However, that did not stop people around me catching pretty decent size breams and flatheads. One of fellow fishos even gave me his 30cm bream, yummy as! Hopefully will get a chance to go back out before the holiday ends.

Hi Tim, several years ago i saw a guy catch a snapper around 60cm about 20 metres west of the covered area, told him to walk it to the beach but he tried to lift it and yes broke the line, this was at 2 pm..

I know .. we went out there last night and only caught some rays and shovelnose ... people were catching sharks, big sharks, off the jetty now. Still good fun though.

hey sorry to ask but are you allowed to spearfish there because i see that you had a pole spear at 2:40 and was just wondering because i'm hoping to go to shorncliffe and do some diving. or is it to spear the fish when reel it up.
I did bring my spear but not allowed to use it within 100 metres of any public jetty. I can't remember the exact number of meters, chk the QLD fisheries web site.

Hey mate the Shorncliffe pier is awesome I caught a 6 foot white spot shovel nose there yesterday I have a video on my channel if U want to check it out
