    A journalist praising a GM interior!? BLASPHEMY!!!
    JK, actually happy someone is recognizing the efforts GM has been putting into their interiors.

    I've had my 2023 XT4 Luxury AWD for a year and one month. No problems at all and my best gas mileage has been 34 on a road trip. It gets 27-28 just driving around locally. It will always get 30 on a trip or better mpgs. I haven't used AWD yet since we had a mild winter. mine has the 18" wheels and rides nicely.

      @rapidrabbit11485 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hey quick question - are you running 93 octane in it? The manual mentioned that mpg and performance would be worse on anything lower.

    • @chuckgladfelter
      @chuckgladfelter Před 3 měsíci

      @@rapidrabbit11485 I use 88 octane, which around here is E-15 ethanol blend. It may hurt mileage a little (2-3 mpg at the most) but it's a dollar cheaper than premium and is has a little more octane than regular. The book says it's ok to use E-15 blend. If you can't get the ethanol blend, I would use premium, as my car didn't have the power it had before when I tried regular 87.

    I love the current direction Cadillac is going with their vehicles. The CT4 and 5 are stunning sedans, along with this XT4 and the other CUVs and SUVs look amazing and obviously perform well too. I'll take a new Caddy over anything out of Germany any day.

    nice video, and its nice to see cadillac making a crossover thats fun to drive. I wouldn't spend 50k for a small crossover, personally.

  • @Tully3674
    @Tully3674 Před 4 lety +4

    The problem with the XT4 is...the Acura RDX. RDX excels is about every category for much less $$$. Both fully loaded w/ AWD (or SH-AWD), Acura is $7,500 less out the door. Reliability favors the Acura. Love the Caddy's design, but I like the money in my pocket a bit more.

    • @garrettbentz9525
      @garrettbentz9525 Před 4 lety +1

      Completely agree. Plus the RDX can send 70% of the power to the rear and torque-vector, and is a full segment above the XT4. The XT4 kind of makes sense if you are shopping only in the subcompact segment since it is larger, cheaper and still just as sporty as the GLA and the X1/X2, but the RDX is just better overall.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  Před 4 lety +3

      RDX is a great choice if luxury isn’t a high priority, the RDX definitely feels a good bit less luxurious than the XT4 and the infotainment is more challenging to use.

    • @garrettbentz9525
      @garrettbentz9525 Před 4 lety

      Matt Maran Motoring I hear ya. I think the XT4 is solid choice in the subcompact segment. As a buyer I value performance over luxury and would probably go with the RDX or a lightly optioned Stelvio with those awesome column mounted metal paddle shifters

    • @Tully3674
      @Tully3674 Před 4 lety

      @@MattMaranMotoring Respectfully disagree. I think the Cadillac nameplate subconsciously tells you its more luxurious then the Acura (I found both equally luxurious). As for the infotainment, that's muscle memory after a few days. Though I'd give Cadillac the edge on intuitiveness, II couldn't ignore the $7,500 savings.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 Před 4 lety

      Acura can not compete with Cadillac’s technology and level of luxury performance. I would pay the $7,500 difference just to have Cadillac’s great tech, superior driving characteristics, and to dodge that horribly outdated infotainment system Honda is still using in the Acura. Yes the infotainment means that much because that’s the way you’re going to interact with your car. The Acura interior also feels cheaper and like an after thought compared to it’s own exterior and the Cadillac XT4 generally. The Acura _should_ cost less because you’re getting less of a luxurious experience.

  • @dtay8913
    @dtay8913 Před 4 lety +4

    Hopefully Cadillac can stay in the right direction with the xt4, xt5, and Escalade. The ct4, ct5, and xt6 are in serious need of a revamped interior even though they are new models. GM did great with the exterior and interior materials but the design on those 3 vehicles are meh.

      I currently own a Xt4, my last car was an ATS and I've sat in a CT6. From my personal experience these Cadillac interiors look way nicer in person than they do on a video and the interior in my XT4, ATS & the CT6 are very comfortable.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 Před 4 lety +1

      CT4, CT5, and XT6 interiors may be simplistic but they’re luxurious and very comfortable. Not to mention they’re all tech filled and sporty focused, not ultra luxurious. Very soon the interiors found in the Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Lyriq will trickle down into the rest of the brand’s lineup but in the meantime these interiors are certainly on par with the best from Germany and Japan as it pertains to materials and build quality, categories GM use to trail behind in.

    Cant wait for you to get your hands on a CT4-V or Blackwing. Really wanna know how it compares to an ATS 3.6 or V.

  • @gbtriumph3216

    I think Car & Driver is decidedly biased against Cadillac...they even said the interior was cheap with rough surfaces! WHAT CAR DID THOSE IDIOTS DRIVE? Find 1 (ONE) online independent review (there are MANY) that gives a thumbs down on the interior. THERE ARE NONE! Everyone else LOVES this XT4 interior. So if C&D MADE THINGS UP for the interior, they VERY LIKELY just pulled a number out of ....somewhere for the speed times. Who paid them to do that?
    Our XT4 is almost as fast as my 3.6 V6 Camaro. About 6.2 in Camaro...probably 6.8 to 60mph in the XT4. It is surprisingly peppy! Other people have mentioned that it is sportier than expected. I agree with you all. This is an honest review. The ride is more like BMW over bumps. My Camaro is easier over bumps. I think Cadillac is SERIOUSLY going after the German brands with this car. Wheel and tire size choice probably can change the ride and bump reactions considerably. Certainly get nice Bridgestones over the Continentals. Good job on this video, love your enthusiasm!

    It has same side mirrors as new Blazers. Too bad Blazers didn't get the LED turn signal & brake lights. Chevy's still holding out on 2021 Blazer models; 3rd production year. Thing is, these were all-new vehicles designed for 2019. Blazer has LED tail light & side marker panel. The designers had to be told to NOT use LEDs in brake/turn combo within same unit for a reason. It was no accident. A reason that has no logic 💩 & makes ZERO sense 🙊
