  • Come with me behind the scene as I prepare Elsa to show. We are running for the Novice Horse Open Level 3 World Championship and we are a couple hundreds behind first place.

Agree on the leg wrapping comments. This guy has feel, which, he does as good a job ive ever heard in trying to explain. Underrated talent

After watching your videos I started using polo wraps on my rope horse. Until today I'd never actually seen someone put them on so I just put them on the way it made sense to me. Surprisingly I put them on the same way as you did.

Yes!! So GOOD and HELPFUL! Some of us don't get to have a trainer or a "horse show mom" to help us manage timing. And even if you can ride a flawless pattern at home, you have to get that to the show pen! It's HARD to figure out timing for your warm up! When to saddle up, when to wait, how to navigate arena traffic, dealing with your own nerves, when to watch other exhibitors and when not to, how to find the sweet spot between too fresh and too tired leading up to your run - so tricky! This video was VERY HELPFUL in shedding some light on these issues! Can you do another one like this and talk more about time management at horse shows - from when your horse eats her breakfast up to when you step into the show ring? All the factors and considerations that influence your strategy at shows? That would be so valuable if you could share some more of your knowledge and experience on that!

At 13:15 it was not crowed. 😜
During one of my warm-ups there had what seemed to be 100 people and riders in that particular arena. 😳

Leg wraps should always go medial to lateral, cranial to caudal, only pull across the front of the cannon bone and roll across the tendons.
