Went through a lot of zipper vids to find one actually showing how to remove the top zipper stopper. I thought I'd have to buy a special zipper pincer tool from Amazon to pull it off. My $250 North Face jacket's slider got lost, and I wanted to replace it with the slider on an older North Face jacket. Incredibly North Face with not just mail me a slider, no matter how much I beg. You have to go through a long warranty application and repair process, which ultimately ends with mailing them the jacket and being without it for about a month. I hope I can get that top stopper off as easily as you did!

Your video was very helpful. i got as far as removing the sliders and taking off the old zipper, but how do I get the two sides of the zipper teeth to go into the new zipper? I can get one side in easily, but can't get both at the same time when I start from the top. Any tips on how to do this? Thanks.

Amazing! Simple, to the point, and extremely helpful. Just repaired an expensive leather jacket with a double zipper pull. The teeth got misaligned when zipped, and wouldn’t allow unzipping. Had to take jacket off like a sweatshirt (George Castanza style 😂). This showed me enough to know how to remove the two pulls, and reassemble them correctly (paid close attention to the orientation of both pulls that came off!). Everything is back to normal now. About a half hour job, zero cost. Thank you!!! 😉

Do you use or have a zipper starter box at the bottom of the jacket, or do you just use a stopper? How do you keep the bottom of the zippers together when you zip it up?
I'm replacing a nylon coil zipper slider on a dress. I can get the slider on, but I can't get the teeth to align and close! I've tried taking off both the top stops and the bottom stop and trying to get them to align from each end. What do I do?

Hello. What if the insertion pin (the left side that slides into the slider) was torn off?
I purchased a bunch of different sizes on Amazon but none of them seem to fit the slider I have on my jacket.
Try to look for the size at the back of your zipper. They come in many different sizes.

I lost the slider on my lightweight bathrobe, which has a separating zipper. The box/retainer pin you feed the zipper insert pin into broke and the slide fell completely off. All I could find was a broken part of the box/retainer pin. So not only do I not have the size I don't even have the other necessary parts to fix it. Where can I get a new box/retainer pin and slider?

My pull on the slider broke off and has been that way for awhile. Then one day the slider actually came off. I placed it back on but I accidentally placed it on backwards. So it’ll go up but won’t come back down. Do I have to break off the slider to get it back off? Or is there an easy way to get it off?
Edited: backwards meaning it should be on the right side of the jacket since I am a male but now is on the left side of the jacket. So the pull is now on the inside of the jacket if you understand.

Everything clear till you got to where you actually put the slider on the zipper at the end. This should have been the time to take your time to show clearly and explain what the goal is, to intersect the zipper teeth.
I have the same question. Wished there would've been more information on how to get the teeth to come together.

Wait so how can we see in depth how to squeeze the stopper off? And why is it necessary to replace the zipper head? Seems so easy but a lil too fast I'm afraid I'll squeeze with the cutter and break it all together
The pull goes up on my jacket, however, the teeth don’t overlap! I’ve tried etching charcoal on the zip but no luck.
So. The thing at the bottom of my jacket. Where you slide it in to sip up. Is falling off. Is there anything I can do about that. Is my favorite jacket. And they don't mKe it anymore. So if anyone can help thanks.
Great video! Only thing that wasn't clear to me was removing the stopper, it's hard to see what you did - I put the pliers on the top and on one edge and squished it until it popped off.

You don’t really know. But most of the coat zippers are size 5. Parkas, Canada Goose style, usually are size 8. And bike rain jackets are size 3. In general. Hope this helps

What to do when the zipper teeth are the problem?? A few of the teeth are not in shape and kinda sticking out from the rest and it keeps separating in that area.
I’m having a problem with some jeans that have a metal line, but a crown shaped zipper and the teeth keeps coming apart, could it be because the zipper is wrong??

I have a heavy duty zipper on a sheepskin jacket, but the slider does not have a number on the back. How do I order a new slider if I don't have a size?
That's tricky. Try to get a size 8 and a size 10. These are the most common heavy duty.

Yes. You can break it. But be careful with the zipper.

You just have to measure them with a ruler or measuring tape.

i put glue on the top stopper and it holds it’s just it’s needs to be thicker

How do you remove the stopper with a plastic stopper?
You cut it out. Be careful to not cut the zipper. Then, put a new one. I hope this helps.
