  • Well known across the world, and made popular by the Movie Quigley down under, the Sharps rifle started it's life as a percussion, breech loading rifle before evolving to self-contained brass cartridges
    Today we take a look at my 1859 replica from Palmetto, a long gone Italian brand

    Beautiful rifle !
    I have a Sharps 1874 at home (also a replica, from Pedersoli), they are a blast to shoot !

    Hello Friend, I have the 1859 Berdan Sharps from Pedersoli. I am not sure if you are in another country, but in the states there are a few gunsmiths that work on the breech block and breech to eliminate the gas leakage. I had mine worked on and 99% of the gases now go down the barrel. Fouling of the breech is almost non-existent. The leakage is almost completely eliminated.

      Hey, yeah I know work can be done but sadly I don't know anyone in Switzerland that does that kind of work
