I Love Mass Effect...
Remake the OG trilogy with better textures and graphics, all the DLC and 60fps and that will do me just fine.
LiverSpottedHunk I think that's their only option to do money. The original devs and writers are long gone and I don't think they have talent to do a brand new game. I would like to play the whole trilogy with some upgrades like the gunplay from ME1 change from a ME2 like.

While I think a trilogy remake (not just remaster) could potentially refresh the franchise and even train newer developers into a Mass Effect mindset for more, I don't think the series needs to be necessarily screwed. From at least what I gather, Andromeda was made by some older series developers (especially stepping in later on), but then made by passionate but maybe or maybe not inadequate fresher people, and then... and this may be the problem... also made by some developers caring little to nothing about the series. They wasted YEARS on tech and earlier story focus that was nothing at all where the series should GO. It was a case of 'why even call this Mass Effect, at least you wouldn't disappoint fans'. There were tech, design, all sorts of issues, but I don't think the problem is that there aren't developers around that are capable and caring. Its another studio that bit off more than they could chew and needed backup from the home studio (this itself maybe postponing Anthem release a bit). I am very into the idea of another game, but made with much more focus and polish. And sure, maybe make a MET remake so that transfer of systems and design can be smoother (turning MEA itself into but an optional prologue or setup to the next game; DA2 has some of this use compared to DAI, in retrospect).
Malcolm Swoboda MEA was a development mess. The head director left, main writer left, and some designers and artist left during that dev lifespan. Then they decide to join the "Games as a Service" multiplayer wagon with Anthem where a lot of games are are losing players for awful performance, microtransactions, little content/DLC expansions and not listening to feedback. I don't like their future right now and they have to "sugar coat" everything for EA's sake.
MEA was a mess... A mess so big it axed the IP...Open your eyes and just acept it already: ME is dead because of MEA.
While you can decide not to believe me, my personal experience (limited but with some private convo) leads me to believe that MEA was somewhat of an experiment while the main studio works on Anthem (and arranges itself for DA I suppose), and while MEA was initially financially successful (though perhaps not sustainbly successful post-launch nor as beneficial for the franchise as it should have been), it was ultimately and relatively something of an experiment and Bioware so far sounds like they're open to putting it back on a more reliable track. Call me a sucker.
A new Mass Effect game deserves a chance.
I reckon a new KOTOR game would break the internet. KOTOR and ME1 (pre EA) are my two favorite games of all time. I liked the MMO too tbh. Not sure why I stopped playing it. Good luck Casey 👍🏼

In other words "super important we get this right so EA dont axe us and prevent more dragon age and other singleplayer games from being made" ya thats much better. I HATE EA as much as others do but im with Cassey on this. I really hope Anthem succeeds so bioware gets another shot at more singleplayer games
I'm 100% sure the next DA game will be single player. However, it may include such multiplayer that it can effectively be played as a roaming co-op game like Anthem is. Replace NPC party members with 1+ friends, ignore narrative focused quests for repeatable activities (easy enough if there's battlefield sort of environments in/around Tevinter). Basically inject DAI with some places of more story (knowing the critique of DAI), but also with the co-op mode integrated instead of mostly separate. Realize this is what Bioware has always wanted to do in a form. This is why even Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights had multiplayer function!!! They come from DND where half the fun is playing with others, even if its in a crafted and immersively adaptive world (in BW's case, one that reflects your choices and character creation). My issue isn't MP. Its the sacrifice of party importance in MEA and of any-NPC-party in Anthem, making me worry DA4 will just have big battle areas with even less story then DAI, and almost no use for an NPC party (they become interchangeable, hard to command, game urges us to use other players instead). They can go too far and I really hope they don't do that.
what make you so certain ? Nothing... Just look at Command and Conquer, it's what remain of the best RTS game created. ME and Da combined sold less than the witcher. Look at the witcher 3 and compare it to DaI, they had the same development time... DaI was a single player MMO, and a bad one.
It's a tricky problem... If Anthem is a success, they'll no doubt use it as an excuse to implement loot box schemes and more online and "social focused" crap in future Mass Effect games. But if it's a failure, we may never get the same quality as past Mass Effect games or Bioware could get shut down for good. It's hard to stay positive when the you're talking about EA, who are hellbent on removing quality SP experiences for online-only/multiplayer obsessed garbage.
I might buy Anthem only to support the possibility of another Mass Effect/KOTOR. (and I'll make that clear on the forums, as should everyone) But if the game after is just Anthem 2.0 then to hell with them.

pricture It's simple, Bioware is now only ONE studio, they were three before (even four for a time) if they're creating DA4, it mean Anthem is abandonned, if they're making ME, it's the same. They can't make two major games now. You'll buy anthem to support anthem, don't blind yourself with hope.
Im probably one of the few that actually didnt mind mass effect andromeda. I just want a better, more interesting crew. But I do understand thats all a tall order considering what we got from the original trilogy

They need to do something different with the franchise. Andromeda was effectively the same kind of story/game as the others. Personally I'd like to see a Buddy Cop style game, back in the Milky Way on the Citadel. Set it just before Mass Effect 1 and have cameos from Wrex and Garrus.

Andromeda was like Antman for me. A nice casual thing on the side. the problem is, my expectations from Mass Effect are far higher than my expectations from Marvel so Andromeda ended up disappointing me even though i really enjoyed it
I would hope they make a new KOTOR game since the KOTOR series is the spiritual predecessor to the Clone Wars and it would be dumb to see it end on a cliffhanger.

I look forward for the next Dragon Age, unfortunately we will have to wait quite long for it, and in case Anthem fails EA may close Bioware. Anthem itself however is not my cup of tea.

They’re still trying to figure out what the next Dragon Age “looks like”? That means DA4 is woefully early in pre-production.
Obviously the only thing we can glean from this interview is that Bioware is focused 100% on Anthem.

People (SWG fans) hate on it but SWTOR contains some of the best writing in Bioware history. Agent, Jedi Knight, Sith Warrior all could have been their own games (KOTOR 3, 4, 5) and would have been considered very good RPG games. Im very interested in seeing where they take it next. Maybe we get a Console release in 2019
That would be awesome. I would be very happy if we got SWTOR for console. That would be epic! Also I could run maximum graphics settings and my Xbox wouldn’t crash unlike computer.
Why are we talking about the developers? I thought it was supposed to be coverage on the game, not the the devs. Like they did days gone, like they did Spiderman, but this exclusive coverage is only about them. Game informer only managed to post 2 videos (rapid fire, and burning community questions) that were actually informative about the game but the rest was just flat out of topic. The new destiny 2 coverage will be much better

I like ME Andromeda . im playing threw it my second time. After i had beat ME1 2 & 3 ...played ME3 twice to get better ending. Then discided to play ME Andromeda again. It has its flaws and overall great game. Haters will hate.

EA should have gave Bioware the Star Wars ip and had Hennig join the team as lead. You know how much preorders that would have gotten EA alone? If it was good it would have made records. Now they are just seen as the company that ruined the game franchise for SW. What were they thinking.

I have bought mostly every game that bioware has made since KOTOR never been disappointed I actually like Andromeda yes it had problems I thought the story was pretty good
Remaster/Redo Mass Effect Triology and then do a great great new ME4 ... The money is there... Why not just take it away from us.
I still call bullshit. When you look at Swtor. ... They arent really doing ANYTHIGN with that game. They arent giving people anything new, there are no new classes being added or anything new when it comes to older classes. They could literaly bring 2 of the faction specific classes to both sides. IN the style of how WOW gave people on the horde Paladins and allience the shamans. Instead this game had 2 classes PER SIDE... locked of. Republic having Smugler and the Trooper. Whille the other side has the Bounty HUnter and AGent. Which COULD be a nice thing if they made a new story for them to be on both sides. They would need to make a totaly new story for the sides... But they could work. There arent ANY new races. the last race they added and the ONLY race they added were the Cathar, the cat peopel.. Woop di doo... Just 1 race for a game that has been out since 2011... A game that also has become nothing more than a microtransaction ridden shit of a game. They can do it , but they dont. because they are lazy. THey could release a new Expansion. INstead... They milk each "expansion" that they claim it is.. For years. Game has had 6 Expansions as they call it. 2 were just content addition. Exp 1 Galactic Starfighter, ... space battles... Exp 2.. Galactic Strongholds. basicly player housing,.... really.... It was first with the Expansion 3 that they actualy fucking started making content. But still ended up being lackluster. Same with Expansion 4. I honeslty have to say that they made the game a bit more fun with the Exp 5, which was the Knights of the Fallen Empire... Interesting with the episodic thing and new world to explore, more interesting and competing story... But the episodic part anoyed me the most. Because this was basicly just giving people a tiny part of the game and then just released more stuff as Episodes.... But not really giving people more things to do just the same old same old. You are fighting the New enemy... You do first 2-3 episodes.. you have unlocked pretty much all content. Just that with each new episode you get new story stuff and maybe new characters to unlock.. OK.. Where is the new classes? New races? WHy not add something like Expert Classes. Giving people something more than just starter class and then 2 advanced class per starter class. They CAN do it. .. They SHOULD do it. To give people MORE... INstead.. Nothing new. And they should probably get rid of that scaling in raids and dunegons if people want to. Like togle of a button. I want to be able to do old content for gear to collect. Even Lightsabers and shit. Also that expansion came out in 2015. The last expansion, Exp 6.. came out in 2016, december. But it has been a whille now. And still nothing new. Same old same old. You just had a new level cap... OK... That is fun. But nothing else is diferent. They havent upgraded anythign: its the same game as back when it came out. You look at wow. It has changed and evolved thru the years. new races. new classes. Grafics update. Character animations and models being upgraded... What is bioware doing? Nothing. They are focused more on the same Cartel Market to pump out microtransaction wepons with each new movie. Hey. Bioware.. Either make the Kylo Ren stuff a promotional thing.. Not a fucking Lootbox slotmachine thing.
Yeah I won't get my hopes up. EA is no longer interested in quality single player experiences like Mass Effect. Just look at what happened to their Star Wars RPG with Any Hennig, and how they try to push The Old Republic MMO as "KOTOR 3/4/5/6/etc" when it clearly isn't. Anthem is The New Normal at best. All that matters is online-dependent/multiplayer obsessed crap.
And that's really painful given Bioware is my favorite dev out there.

Of course they'll make another mass effect. As bad as Andromeda was at launch, it was only one game; and its not even a numbered sequel, its a spin-off. The only question is, will the next Mass Effect game be more like 1 or 2, or will it be more like Anthem-a multiplayer based, lootbox/microtranaction heavy 3rd person shooter with forgettable characters, cookie cutter villain, and a subpar narrative?

They're speaking about their old Ip only to make people care of Anthem. They have two possibilities, first Antehm fail and Bioware is downsized before being closed few years later. Second, Anthem is a success and EA will milk it dry.
EA isn't interested in SP games anymore, MP are easier to milk. We'll never saw another SP RPG game coming from them but it doesn't matter, other developers took the relay.
I doubt you. I think there's three: 1) Anthem fails, Bioware is downsized, yes. 2) Anthem wildly succeeds, especially on microtransaction front, so EA makes it focus on Anthem 2 ASAP (we know how Destiny story went on 'games as service'), and at best Dragon Age is allowed to happen, but not Mass Effect. 3) Anthem is a good success, especially on the 'box copy' front, so Bioware indeed moves to Dragon Age, then Mass Effect, then maybe an Anthem 2 for next gen after at least a few years of Anthem support alongside DA/ME. This isn't impossible at all.
you're a little too optimistic... Your number 3 would mean the closure of bioware for a simple reason: the game cost so much to create, (just with a two years delay, they have to make a blockbuster to just being profitable). And to finish, Respawn was closed because their star wars game, which is a waaay biger IP than ME or DA, was only SP and not milkable easily.
Don't get your hope high for Da or Me but it's just my opinion of course, you're free to doubt it. We'll see.
It will be a blockbuster. The question to me is whether its one of the many 2019 blockbusters, or whether its expected to be basically GOTY. Seeing as how its the year of Cyberpunk 2077, to start, I believe EA is going with the former. IMOOoooo, if Anthem sells very well and continues with player activity into 2020, EA will take that. It won't need to be a super mega seller and with a large playerbase into 2021+, especially since Dragon Age should be a thing (marketing to post-release, whatever) by then anyway.
It'll not be Goty, when you see EA trying to evade Red Dead 2 launch, it's not a good sign but anyway you point out the biggest problem with Anthem: Keeping its playerbase. Lot of game like this, Destiny 2, the Divison and so on, lost a lot of it in just two months, because of the end game. It'll be how the endgame is managed that will decide its fate.
And remember the end game of SWOTOR, its what killed it.
You may have some wonky standards. Destiny 2 continues (though content may subside next year if they put their heads down to either overhaul Destiny 2 or more likely put more polish into a Destiny 3 or another game), Division definitely continued, and SWTOR still has content updates several years later. Anthem may not get GOTY, it may not be a superstar success, but as a Bioware EA heavily marketed title, it'll likely be plenty profitable for Bioware to continue, and may be profitable enough for later support (whether an overhaul expansion years later or a sequel). I say this as someone really not looking forward to it, by the way. You're crazy with even AAA gaming expectations if you think execs expect their games to be GTA5 or seemingly Red Dead. Sometimes they do, but they're stupid (like with Tomb Raider, which still readjusted and now is getting its 2nd sequel).

The thing is I don't want Bioware working on Mass Effect. I especially don't want EA near it. This new team masquerading as Bioware is obviously not talented enough to do the series justice. Just sell it off to someone else.
That studio dissolved last year. So if they do make a new ME it will probably be under the main group again.

That's a waste. Few series do this, at least narrative focused ones. This wasn't a fanfic game - legacy series writers and designers were involved. What they COULD do is reduce relation to MEA to some extent, and outright forget about the biggest and easier-forgettable mistakes. Like asari pronouns, perhaps haha (though I actually have defended that inclusion, I understand how ill thought out it appeared). And while MEA sets up Ryder as potential sequel protagonist (or at least for DLC that didn't happen), perhaps a sequel can decide not to do that, but maybe still keep the character present.
Or you could admit that you're not as good as you once were and spend all your time remastering KOTOR and Mass Effect trilogies in modern AAA graphics :-)

I would play a new mass effect if it was made by another company because this company let the daughter of Satan into their offices without throwing her off the roof top so I refuse to give them anymore of my cash has I don't want to fund anyone who supports my enemy and a plague on humanity!
I seriously hope they go bankrupt so they can sell off the mass effect license to someone who's not underneath the boot of EA or that she devil, so I can finally get the sequel to mass effect one I've always wanted
