Not fair. Black people win because they have Mike Perry.
Asians.. Look at One Championship
Just have to look at history
Caucasians number one (europeans originate from caucasus aswell)
Crazy how Izzy can be used as an example of a great fighter for about half of these countries
He is the black dragon
My favorite Chinese fighter
what can i say, he connects with the kiwi in me!
just a thought so u can prevent spoiling. save the A tiers for last and reveal the S tier beforehand
He truly is an eniggma in the sport

The UK has paddy who automatically puts you at A tier at least. Having a fighter who can’t lose even if he gets knocked out means they have a guaranteed champ.

Good to see a lot of new countries. 10 years ago, when I started watching MMA, it was mostly Usa-Brazil-Russia (even Russians were extremely rare. It was Brazil-USA mostly) and barely any other countries. Now MMA is much more global and it warms my heart.
I agree , mma is starting to become more popular in south Asia too ,few years ago , people wouldn't even know what mma is ,now even kids know it ,I think in 20 years time ,mma will as big as some of the best sport in the world

That Ireland-Italy flag mixup will be a classic Guru moment for years to come.
Imagine the UFC making a World Cup tournament. Would be dope af
It would be cool but with the different divisions it makes it a little complicated.
Maybe more like the Olympics? They run a tournament for each division and the country that ends up with the most points wins
Only problem is USA would be so over represented. You would probably need another 10 years of the sport evolving and talent beginning to develop in other parts of the world.
i think NZ got done dirty here. 5 mil population with adesanya, kai kara france, carlos ulberg, dan hooker, brad riddell, mark hunt and janay harding is definitely above B tier
Yeah he forget to mention Kai Kara France, I'd probably place them before the UK just based on the population factor.
@@LiamNero94 new zealand, australia and georgia should all move up a tier just because of the population factor. russia and brazil have 10x the population as all 3 of these countrys yet australia has argubly 2 champions while russia only has 1 and brazil has 0

Oh yeah and also Kazakhstan, probably will join this group of countries in the near future. Only technicality is that Shavkat who is leading the "Kazakhstan wave" was born in Uzbekistan and moved with his Kazakh family to Kazakhstan when he was 16 years old. But I still expect more of the stan countries to put themselves on the map over the next few years.
Also seeing as Georgians are literally the only people insecure enough with their ranking to wine and complain about it in the comments, when Georgia has a champion, they will immediately jump to A tier, but surely having literal World Champions in the sport has to be a factor when ranking the countries based on fighting ability.
Canada deserves all that smoke!!!

On paper, Ancient China and Ancient Greece offer the earliest mention of competition between varying combat arts. Both had varying combat styles within their own boarders and Greece even had an official style, pankration, before the 648 BC Olympic Games, which included combat medals and was, on paper, the first international mma competition. I don’t believe Brazil was able to contribute to the events at the time.

I wasn't able to find an updated list on it, but as of 2019, the US had produced over 50 UFC champions, second place was Brazil at 13 champions. That is quite a massive difference between first place and second when it comes to producing champions. The stats have obviously changed since then, but it's highly doubtful any country has came close to catching up with the US.
Granted, most of the UFC roster has historically been American since it started in the USA and does the majority of its shows here.
These is useless, during 15 years UFC wasn’t the most important promotion in the world, the best fighters were all in Japan
@@alandemaio3043 lol if you mean pride FC, it's not difficult to add them into the equation. USA produced 11 champions within PRIDE FC. Not the most within the promotion, but still a lot.
For what it's worth, most of Pride's champions were all former UFC champions or future UFC champions. So while a few more stats could be added for each country, most of the champions in Pride were either from the UFC at one point or joined them later.
I'm not arguing that other promotions didn't have better fighters during that era, because a lot of them came to the UFC and won belts right after the UFC purchased them all. It's true they were stacked with talent, but damn near all of them ended up on the UFC before and after the purchase. In other words, they are counted already. lol

Such a shame Japan couldn’t make it to even D but also keep an eye out for Rei Tsuruya who’s fighting in Road to UFC. He’s the prospect of all prospects. He and Taira will fight for the belt in coupla years if Taira still remains in flyweight.
@@UmiKazeHoshiZora he’s in a for a real tough match up next against Mark Climaco. If rei loses, the ufc should give him the Chase Hooper treatment

problem with japan, similar to korea and china, too many distractions, kung fu, anime, pop music, movies, tech, academics, etc. all these fight for the attention of the kids growing up. also japan is too caught up in pro wreslting too. if japan had the same focus on mma like mexico does boxing, it would be a force

Brazil literally created the sport and always had a constant array of champions and contenders since the beginning, and not only that, Brazil helped the US to reach the position they are today with the constant outflux of brazilian fighters going to the US to share knowledge. Kinda of disrespectful not putting them at S tier together with the US.
Brazil has ran laps around Russia they should never be behind them. A few Brazilian UFC champs have single handedly accomplished more in the UFC than all Russian fighters combined.
Tierlist idea: best ko artists in each division

I wonder if Volk laid down any kind of blueprint for fighters to learn from when it comes to tackling the Dagestani style. If so, we could see them slip down the list instead of moving up, surely it's only a matter of time. Sandhagen I think could implement a style to cause Umar serious problems
Cory could but idk if he has the same explosive overpowering strength that volk has to implement and fully execute on what volk did but we’ll see maybe he’ll do something similar

As a spaniard I ddnt expect to be in that list but maybe next year with new ones Alex Topria amd Dani Barez. Right now we have Ilia who is top 5 at fw and next title contender and Joel Alvarez whose hype was derailed by Tsarukyan over a year ago but I think he will come back to the top 15 soon. Juan Espino just retired not because of his age but for his endless injuries, I think he couldve been a top 10 HW or even higher. Alex Topuria can be top5 and title contender at BW and Dani Barez could get into the rankings in 3 or 4 fights at Fly weight.
