Haha. I'm a wedding photographer in New Orleans. We have a large Vietnamese community here. First you have the Vietnamese ceremony and tea at 7am.The grooms family waits outside and brings a roasted decorated pig and gifts. Then there is a lunch at the brides families house for a few hours. Then a change into the American white gown with a Catholic ceremony in the mid afternoon. Then the reception. Where you photograph every single guest arriving with the couple as they walk in. The decor is always amazing. Food too! Lots of guests singing at the microphone during diner. And then the couple does a shot with every single one of the 500 guests at each table - where the guests give money in a red envelope. Yeah... they substitute the booze after a the fist few so one gets alcohol poisoning. Then dancing until 1am. It can be a 12-16 hour day for the photography teams.
My wedding happened after 6 weeks of my marrage being fixed. Immediate family members are expected to drop any existing plans to attend - except foreign holidays

my family is spanish and we have some very similar bowls and so do both of my grandmas and my great grandma some of them are more see-through than others and we've had ours as long as i can remember they seem very easy to break but they never do

It's very common in the US to set the date a year and half ahead because wedding venues fill up that fast. I tried to schedule a wedding venue 6 months out and I couldn't get one. We ended up getting married at a little bed and breakfast outside of town; we were only allowed 25 guests.
Somehow, everybody in my family (German and German-Norwegian) has these bowls, yet nobody remembers where they came from. In my house, they are sitting hidden away in some cupboard, because I actually think that they are ugly af.
In France, most future brides and grooms add to their invitation a wedding list or the address of a boutique, or even a list on Amazon if they want gifts. Alternatively, guests will bring a greeting note with a check inside on the wedding day. Then, the guests entrust the envelope to a family member or a newlywed box. You can slip the envelope into the box without any problems because the checks are addressed to the newlyweds' names so no one can steal them.

@@KpopM2 really? In Germany they don't as far as I know. Here in Denmark it is a few months usually. Years makes no sense imo. You can't pan for that.
It's very common in the US to set the date a year and half ahead because wedding venues fill up that fast. I tried to schedule a wedding venue 6 months out and I couldn't get one. We ended up getting married at a little bed and breakfast outside of town; we were only allowed 25 guests.
Somehow, everybody in my family (German and German-Norwegian) has these bowls, yet nobody remembers where they came from. In my house, they are sitting hidden away in some cupboard, because I actually think that they are ugly af.
It is more valueable than diamond but more fragile than paper on a rainy day. Excellent gifts.

In France, most future brides and grooms add to their invitation a wedding list or the address of a boutique, or even a list on Amazon if they want gifts. Alternatively, guests will bring a greeting note with a check inside on the wedding day. Then, the guests entrust the envelope to a family member or a newlywed box. You can slip the envelope into the box without any problems because the checks are addressed to the newlyweds' names so no one can steal them.
