RM was my teen idol and I loved all his songs! Luckily at 54 I was finally able to see him in concert in November 2022 at Mohegan Sun arena! What an amazing artist and even more so a genuine down to earth guy the way he interacted with the crowd. I was completely choked up when I heard him sing, with his (Marx brothers) sons on back screen to a song I never heard; When You Loved Me. Thank you Richard!!!

@Richard Marx As a young girl I was obsessed with linear notes. When you "hit big" I already knew EXACTLY who you were from Can't slow down. To me music has the power to change rhe world and when I watched musicians of different colors and genres collaborate it was the symbol to me that it transcends our differences and brings us together. I still want to believe that❤
Never doubt what artists mean to young girls like me who need you to say the things we feel and express what we believe in. It has been nice to find that you are a good person as well as an unbelievable talent.
To know that you were friends with Luther warmed my heart! I miss his music every day and your collaboration on Keep coming back is a favorite. Keep being a voice we need in music. Always a fan. Now I just need to find you in concert! Never had the pleasure 😥

@Elmogrl171 Her name is Cynthia Rhodes and she’s the mother to his three sons. They were together 25 years and she is the one he wrote “Right Here Waiting For You” about. (He didn’t write it for Barbra Streisand, he had already written it but wasn’t planning on recording it himself).
I heard him talk about it a long time ago as he was crazy about Cynthia but they were separated by distance because of their careers. But they finally got together.
I don’t know why they got divorced as he doesn’t talk about it, but I did hear him say in an interview shortly after that he had been with the most amazing, wonderful woman, for 25 years. It was nothing but kindness towards her.
Cynthia gave up her career to raise their children. She not only was a successful actress and dancer, she was a singer with a lovely voice.
