soto will undoubtedly get a BAG, but he’s gonna be a full time DH in just a couple of years. he’s a terrible fielder. i really don’t know how much teams will be willing to spend on him. it’ll be so interesting to see
I have to agree with you. His fielding has been suspect... minus 11 defensive runs in last couple years? He is still super young, and hasn't reached his prime... but I agree... potentially a full-time DH in the future. Could this be Giancarlo Stanton 2.0?
He was a gold glove finalist a couple of years ago, czcams.com/video/xn_gIVVuWmM/video.htmlsi=-Z5dhKcI5C8I9To9
He's not a terrible fielder. In fact...he makes some amazing catches! Stop knocking the fielding please these negative comments are very rude!
He’s only 25 he has plenty of years playing the outfield
@@mattschultz5155He may have had some amazing catches, but his overall body of work in the field is awful.
He won’t get more than 440 mm that was offered to him by the Nats. They love to give long terrible contracts.
He will absolutely get more than that.
I know it's spring training but he looks revitalized and it's not like he was bad. He was already great
Sorry Hal, but you can expect the richer MLB teams, especially the AL East teams, aren't going to stand by and let Soto and the Yankees hash out a deal, mano a mano. They will be bidding high and hard to make sure that IF he stays a Yankee he will be signing for a very very high number. This ain't the 80's pal.
How can anyone actually say Soto is a "perfect fit" when he literally hasn't played an actual game with them yet? I just can't with these forecasting BS with sports media.
Kinda looks like he’s fitting in just fine
“We want to see how he ( Soto) acclimates to New York.” ( Scott Boras).
600 million….easy. If he has a normal year.
These type of questions are so dumb. The only reason Yamamoto making more than Cole was even a discussion is bc Yamamoto has never thrown a major league pitch before, and some people (rightfully so) argued it’s asinine to pay someone that much who is unproven in this league. The Soto-Judge talks are a completely different animal. Soto is 100% proven. No Yankee fan in their right mind thinks Soto won’t/shouldn’t get a higher AAV than Judge. I HIGHLY doubt Judge cares who is making more lol these guys aren’t as petty as your average X user whining about these things, they’re professionals who want to win. Judge is already getting paid $40m a season, why tf would he care what Soto makes 😂
12 years. 45-50 mill a year
Soto getting a boatload of money is going to be dependent on how many teams bid for him. No one’s going to want to bid against themselves. Sort of like what the Padres irresponsibly did for Xander and the Rockies for Bryant.
Soto is going to get 14 years 500M if he has a Juan Soto like season this year.
600 for 14 if he has a Soto type year. That’s 42.8 on average which is realistic
@@marcellomarino222yup someone is going to over pay. All boras needs is 2 to tangle but it’s going to be more teams. Yankees, Mets, blue jays, giants, cubs, maybe the angels throw there name in the hat. All that equals 600 million lol 😂.
i dont think he's worth over 300M but that's me.
@@Lifewithemerson323Just like Snell and the other Boras clients, right? Good luck getting that 600 million next year. He should be thankful if he gets 500 million because he won't have the same amount of suitors because apparently the TV deals could still be an issue next year.
It’s a stupid question because Soto is 💯 going to be on the Mets next year.
If Mets are 72-90 next year, as projected, no big name free agent, including Soto, will go there.
Foul territory, good show! I am a big yankees fan and I think Judge wants to win championships. Aaron Judge doesn't care if Juan Soto makes more money. Like Jeter did not care if Arod made more money. Jeter wanted to win championships like Aaron Judge does now! Seems like people want Judge and soto to dislike each other. But they do like each other. Non-Yankees fans are hoping that Judge and soto do not get along.
@@MoonlightGrahamCracker I think Soto will be a nice camper. Remember he does not complain and a diva like Marcus Stroman and Manny Machado. I doubt if Soto is going to be a problem here. Never a problem elsewhere. non-Yankee fans are hoping Judge and soto do not get along. Hoping the Yankees team will go down.
I have a strong feeling he’s going to have a horrible season and the huge payday he’s hoping for won’t come to fruition.
I’m going to save this comment 😄
For Sure !
If the Yankees pay Soto more than $40M AAV, Judge will definitely be pissed off because he is way better than him.
Very untrue...better in what way? Soto crushes him in many stats and this year he is the same age Judge was in his rookie year
Judge isn’t an idiot. He knows Soto is younger and healthier.
Yankees best top 5😂. Both the braves and dodgers top 5 clears no question
Soto can only hit. His fielding is bad. Judge nearly won the triple crown and is a gold glove caliber outfielder. Long term Soto but if Judge were the same age as Soto I would take Judge 99 out of 100 times if I can get a 150 games a season from him.
Compared to Judge on fielding last year stats are very similar! Stop knocking the fielding.
Correct - a healthy Judge is the second-or-third-best player in the league (behind Ohtani and, when healthy, Trout) and better than Soto.
However, you do have to factor both health and age for these contracts. Soto has both.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the boras 4 are put on ice, as a way of increasing leverage during Soto talks next season.
No !
$800 million! WOW!
Pitchers will need to play perfect.
Go Yankees and good point on Juan in the batting order
Great fit and player for Aaron Judge to finally!!! Finally! knock in some of his teammates
Going to be interestingly fun and can't wait to be there to witness the energy upon me
whoever asked the q about Judge caring about Soto's money was hopefully asking it with some sarcasm. Soto is reaching free agency way younger
If I'm not mistaken, Juan Soto was a gold glove finalist in 2022 , correct me if I'm wrong
40 million for 13 years =520 million
The only thing preventing Soto from getting $600 million is his defense. But the bidding will start at $450 million. And likely go well over $500 million. He’s only 26.
He's 25
@@mattschultz5155 I’m talking about his age at free agency.
Yankees top 4 isn’t better than dodgers
right, it isn't better than the Braves either.
@@matthewr2906ehhh idk. It’s about on par with Atlanta I’d say.
Also, they’re specifically talking about American League lineups
@@silkyjohnson7599 How is it on par?
Braves top 4 OPS+: 168, 162, 138, 128
Yankees (incl. Soto): 175, 158, 118, 96
The first two are indeed close. The Braves blow them away 3-4 (and 5-9).
