soto will undoubtedly get a BAG, but he’s gonna be a full time DH in just a couple of years. he’s a terrible fielder. i really don’t know how much teams will be willing to spend on him. it’ll be so interesting to see

I have to agree with you. His fielding has been suspect... minus 11 defensive runs in last couple years? He is still super young, and hasn't reached his prime... but I agree... potentially a full-time DH in the future. Could this be Giancarlo Stanton 2.0?

Sorry Hal, but you can expect the richer MLB teams, especially the AL East teams, aren't going to stand by and let Soto and the Yankees hash out a deal, mano a mano. They will be bidding high and hard to make sure that IF he stays a Yankee he will be signing for a very very high number. This ain't the 80's pal.

These type of questions are so dumb. The only reason Yamamoto making more than Cole was even a discussion is bc Yamamoto has never thrown a major league pitch before, and some people (rightfully so) argued it’s asinine to pay someone that much who is unproven in this league. The Soto-Judge talks are a completely different animal. Soto is 100% proven. No Yankee fan in their right mind thinks Soto won’t/shouldn’t get a higher AAV than Judge. I HIGHLY doubt Judge cares who is making more lol these guys aren’t as petty as your average X user whining about these things, they’re professionals who want to win. Judge is already getting paid $40m a season, why tf would he care what Soto makes 😂

Soto getting a boatload of money is going to be dependent on how many teams bid for him. No one’s going to want to bid against themselves. Sort of like what the Padres irresponsibly did for Xander and the Rockies for Bryant.

Foul territory, good show! I am a big yankees fan and I think Judge wants to win championships. Aaron Judge doesn't care if Juan Soto makes more money. Like Jeter did not care if Arod made more money. Jeter wanted to win championships like Aaron Judge does now! Seems like people want Judge and soto to dislike each other. But they do like each other. Non-Yankees fans are hoping that Judge and soto do not get along.

Soto can only hit. His fielding is bad. Judge nearly won the triple crown and is a gold glove caliber outfielder. Long term Soto but if Judge were the same age as Soto I would take Judge 99 out of 100 times if I can get a 150 games a season from him.

Correct - a healthy Judge is the second-or-third-best player in the league (behind Ohtani and, when healthy, Trout) and better than Soto.
However, you do have to factor both health and age for these contracts. Soto has both.
