You're not the bad guy for pointing out the obvious :) A lot of tech has sort of hit a peak, and new versions now have very small improvements, if any real improvement at all. Staying behind a few generations is no big deal at all.
Also, the fact that you can't turn off the beauty filter thing would be a deal breaker for me as well.

I use the Osmo OG since 2020 and still using it. Though the Action 4 has timecode and that s saving me a nice bunch of time.
Just got one on ebay for less than 50.00 cause it needed to always be plugged in to work but turns out it just needed a new battery, its in like new condition with all original parts.

Appreciated, I'm using rode lavalier go, not cheap but no annoying issue. I also use Goyo ai noise reduction and some eq and compression in post, what you hear is not the mic itself 😄

Do you have a fix for the ticking noise in the videos? It's been said it comes from using an external mic.
I haven't experienced that, the bads on osmo og sound for me is it lacks on highend frequency when using external mics to record instrument playing, also I don't enjoy its on board compression which is always on.
