Beautiful bike for sure - congratulations! But please, do take it really easily on that beast, definitely not what I'd recommend for a newbie rider (not meaning to be rude, just take it easy for the first few months)......

It would be extremely unlikely anyone is gonna try to steal a bike like this in London with the rider still on it. But it will be gone in 5 minutes if he parks it in the street 😾My Ducati 848 lasted less than a month in London …it turned up one year later in a chop shop in Austria 😾

1 month from now: "WHY I'M SELLING MY RARE DUCATI DIAVEL".
To be fair it's not difficult to imagine why :p This is NOT the bike for a beginner, you need to be a REALLY experienced biker to be this kind of bike or you'll end up in a coffin or worse, in a wheelchair.
Let's be clear, this is a really cool bike but a beginner shouldn't be able to buy it, wayyyyyy to fast and dangerous for him.
In France there is a law limiting some bikes to 34hp, and if that seems low, it is way enough for a starter bike, just buy a 600CC maximum with all the safety mesures for your first few year on a bike and then, when you feel more confortable and have like 20k km on your belt you can upgrade to a sport bike.
But I saw way too many people dying or ending up on a wheelchair because of being cocky on a bike to be excited with this video
@@KSa-zs6zu Yup, exactly my point. He just got his license a few months ago and now he's getting a Diavel? It's too much for a beginner. He is the same individual that was saying he needed a slow bike to begin with, since he never ridden before. I think this bike could be for him, but not right now.
He is in control of the power though and it has a lot of safety features on it. Im sure he will be fine if he has self control

As long as you know how to manage the power, be sensible, it's a fantastic bike. I've driven a 150cc scooter growing up in India n after 14yrs of not riding any 2wheeler, I got myself the 2020 Diavel 1260s and I'm very happy with it. In my first year I rode over 4500miles on it. Learn to tame the beast.
It looks to me like the sort of bike people who don't ride bikes like .
Great for open road touring not so great for greasy, twisty British roads or inner city commuting. An MT-07, lower capacity Ducati Monster or Hypermotard would've suited Paul better. Still even they're not really beginner friendly. I've been riding for 20 years and I'm perfectly happy on my Husqvarna 610.

If you rode one you may understand why people say, the Diavel made me do it, its a beast, fast and handles, you need big gonads to get the best out of it.

Campo66 it is powerful but not a beast. It is kind of a sports bike (lame for a sports bike though) that needs revs. Nothing below 3k and not much below 5k
It is expensive and has an outdated valve mechanism that produces high maintenance costs.
Many less pricy bikes available that bring more fun.
Just that the "I am a dentist but want to be a biker" badge (aka Ducati) is missing
Just goes to show that Foggy's advice DID NOT sink in. This isn't a bike for a beginner whatsoever no matter what anybody says. He will get insurance, but it will be massive, and sorry to say it, serves him right. Passed my test in 95, at the time the Ducati 916 was the bike to have ( well, to me it was ) I could afford one, insure it etc, but didn't as I had a track day on a CBR600 that scared the living crap out of me and I realized I needed lots of experience over the car park show off. Good Luck Paul, but heed the warnings and take plenty of care.
I give it 6 months just after summer and this will be sold 🤣🤣

Paul unless you take it slow and steady learning how to ride you are going to end up dead mate. everyone can drive a car and drive quick a bike requires a second sense you need to learn.

My issues is that most of the comments on here amount to an overdose of patronising assumption, plainly given by people who think themselves above a new rider because they’ve not killed themselves yet. He’s bought a bike - great. He’s been given advice by people that know their stuff - great. Now just enjoy the ride (pun intended) and let him do the same without filling every bike related video with comments telling him the bleeding obvious.

Amazing bike bro you will love it! I have a 2017 diavel and let me tell you.. they don’t look like a beast... it is a beast. I know you just started riding but my best advice is careful with ur throttle response. This bike has major balls!
Well, I can’t throw stones considering my first proper bike was a ZX12R after going from a ZXR400 6 years prior to getting the 12. I’d say be careful but, you have all kinds of electronic aids and power modes. Take it easy!

I got mine #319/630 last saturday, I tuned it with the Ducat Bike clear clutch cover in black/silver and the cylinder covers of the X-Diavel S in black/silver looks awesome
As nice as it is I’m afraid it doesn’t hold a candle to the Tambourini designed 916 in my humble opinion - that bike was and is a ‘design icon’.
Pretty but it won’t be exhibited in the Tate like the 916. Absolutely beautiful.

Sorry to break the bad news but Amari (yes the dealership) had theirs back in January & its serial number 004 (there bike footage was uploaded 25.1.21) I believe its already sold, theirs also added bad news as its rumoured Lamborghini dealerships are/have snapped up most of these bikes getting them off the market place "yes for financial reasons" ie drip them for sale & they'll make more money per bike.
ps yes you'd be much better off waiting for good weather once its legally yours & you should really hire a bigger/heavier bike to drive & get used to before the bin this bike due to the shear lack of riding experience.... pps also get some serious security fitted & have a damned good chain & lock when you take it out anywhere (so your ready if you need to park-up)

I'm a huge fan of this bike but I'm so confused why ducati and Lamborghini chose this bike and not the penagali or something more in line with Lamborghini's style 🤷♂️
Diavel is known as a muscle bike with low-down torque and also it's one of the fastest production bikes in the world with 0-60mph of 2.5 seconds which trounces sports bikes (especially as it also has launch control).
