A CZcams video about African Harrier-Hawk
The African Harrier-Hawk is a medium-sized raptor that breeds in most of Africa south of the Sahara. It is most commonly found in the tropical regions of western Africa, becoming less common in East and South Africa. The bird is adaptable in its habitat preferences, occupying thick rainforest, forest edge, riparian areas, agricultural land, and human-occupied areas. The upperparts, head, and breast are pale grey, while the belly is white with fine dark barring. The broad wings are pale grey with a black trailing edge fringed with a narrow white line, and the tail is black with a single broad white band. The average span usually reaches 160cm (or 5 ft 3 inches), although this can vary slightly between sexes.
