Piccadilly Line too close in tunnel

it's not "too close" at all. In fact, this helps ventilate the tube. The trains push air in front of them. Because there's very little clearance between the train and the tunnel, it gets pushed up and out of the stations or air shafts. Then as they pass, they suck a huge amount of air back down into the system.

Why do you think it is called 'The Tube'.
Its a deep level line, the diameter of the tunnel is a few inches larger than the train.

I'm pretty sure all deep level tube lines such as bakerloo, jubilee, Central etc. Their tunnels are the same
