I take the question as is it harder as a civilian to hit a professional baseball players pitch, or harder as a civilian to strike out a professional hitter. With that premise I think it would be harder to strike a batter out
If they mean hit the baseball, like get on base safely after hitting the ball with no errors, then I am going to go with hitting a baseball is harder. But if all you have to do is make contact with the baseball, then I would say striking out is more difficult. My experience as a pitcher and hitter in high school at least.
