I have the same carrier and I put grip tape on both the ramp and the carrier itself. Also I think the hitch stabilizer is supposed to be oriented with the lip towards the vehicle or receiver, that’s how I’ve always used them but you don’t want to wrench down on the stabilizer super tight because the carrier still needs to move very slightly because the rigidity will put a lot of pressure on the welds. But it’s a great carrier for the price especially when you get 30% off with coupons and it holds a wide variety of bikes. It’s a pain in the ass for me to load my dirt bike on it when it’s attached to my Sprinter Van that has a lift so finding an incline to load is key!

I swapped the ramp and carrier to get the bike closer to the Truck and less leverage on the hitch. If you have room you can lop a few inches off the receiver to move it in too. Good bang for the buck.

Skateboard grip tape for the slipping?
I got a Harley sportster 1200 72. You think this is big enough for that?

The grip tape ideas genius. I'm going to try that. I'm not sure about the size but the dimensions are on the website. And remember, don't exceed that 500 lb tongue weight if that's what yours carries

You're not going to blow out the front suspension, every time you go over a jump or bumps your suspension is doing the exact same thing. Compressing it in a carrier does way less damage than trail riding.

You can’t push it closer to your vehicle? Chop a section off maybe and redrill it to lower the leverage weight. Seems like it has space, I’d be careful tying it to the roof rack, I’d rather lose my bike than write my car off! Actually that’s debatable 😂
