Don't worry about the negative comments usually the person leaving the negative comment is going through hard times in their own life and that's all they know how to do at that point in their lives. Anyways a lot of the amazing products there were made in Mindanao, where me and my wife are moving to next year in CDO to open our hotel named....Ohana Beach Suites...and now I like that idea of having locals that make Unique crafts to use our hotel for a weekend to promote their products. I had to rewatch the video to see the context in which the word was used, and was reminded within the first minute. I've been in a multicultural relationship for the last 26 yrs and it didnt even faze me because I immediately understood what you meant. In this response video, I love what Kasen said regarding kindness which reminded me of that saying, "If you can be anything, be kind." Are those negative commentors mostly filipino? If so, some filipinos aren't fully aware that some english words can be used differently & some will take idiomatic expressions literally causing the misinterpretation, but if they are well versed english speakers... they are prolly just too sensitive. Some Filipinos in the PH tend to get very sensitive. You have to be careful with what u say and do. Some read and interpret into things . When I was visiting couple of months ago in the PH , I have this mannerism of putting my hands on my waist , esp when I’m standing and bored or if I’m pensive and looking out the window . An elderly relative called me out and made a big deal about it . I was so shocked . She ended making a story out of it. I was so pissed but I just had to keep my mouth shut bc I had to remind myself , it’s the culture . I can’t argue with an elderly esp. family or it will be WAR. So I had to reflect what I really did wrong and now I remember growing up it’s rude to do that. It’s like your picking a fight . I’m so used to doing that mannerism in the states that I even questioned myslef if it’s also rude to do it here in the states? Now I’m so conscious with my hand gestures and movements bc I might offend someone . 😅
