Thanks a lot bro! Just beat Honor mode with these builds (except I replaced 1 bard for a Gloom Stalker/Assassin build with Titanstring bow and elixirs of STR). Honestly it was a lot easier than I expected (5th playthrough for me, 2 being in Tactician). The only scary moment for me was the fight with the Meenlocks underneath Last Light Inn. I had 3 characters down and the last one remaining was ~10 health. I had to drink an invisibility potion and luckily was able to escape.
Apart from that most of the bosses were ridiculously easy - pretty much 1st turn kill on all of them. Thanks for the great guide and insanely OP build(s).
It's so nice to see that you're still up and about making content for all the CRPGs out there :)
I don't play them all that much anymore since there's so many games out and I got a new job but your content has always been a godsend for me ever since Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Keep it up! :)
Hi Teri! So nice seeing you here again 😁
Just what I've been looking for, thanks!
Fantastic bard build, appreciate the effort! Decided to roll with two rather than three though; never being able to use the great melee-loot gave me anxiety, lol. A pure Fighter will always fit!
Thanks for the guide, cRPG. Absolute magic. Being the masochist that I am I've gone through about 400 hours and roughly 15 playthroughs of this game on Honour Mode only, failing every single time. My latest run fell at some giant skeleton that appears after Ketheric falls by the wayside.
After watching this video a number of times I've found it truly incredible how much more manageable this brilliant game is. And I'm confident I can make it all the way to the end this time, such is my confidence in the explicitness of your guide.
Again, many, *many* thanks.
just 'some' giant skeleton 💀
there is one mega boss that prevents any composition from truly being 100% - elevators
Or the Mace of Lathander statues that knock everyone down into the void 😁
Save and quit. Reload your game and then step on the elevator.

Yay - I'm always thrilled to see your videos, especially now that you're covering BG3 Honour Mode! I like this party a lot (Swords Bard is definitely OP and SO much fun) and my favorite party companion comp is always Gale, Shadowheart, and Astarion, so it's exciting for me to see them all in one party.
I have a slightly different Honour Mode line-up which has been destroying encounters, so just wanted to share with you what I have to see what you think. (This is also only my first Honour Mode party, using a different lineup for the other one I'm doing now with a Sorcadin main which is also a ton of fun.)
Durge: Fire Sorcerer 11 / Fiend Warlock 1 - I think it's a pretty famous build at this point with the Fire Acuity Hat and CC with Command from the Warlock dip. It absolutely trivializes encounters, and I can fly thanks to the Level 11 Sorc ability, so no need to go half-illithid. (I mean, there are great other reasons why, but I hate the look so I never like to do it!)
Gale: Tempest Cleric 2 / Evo Wizard 10. His spell save DC is sky high, magic missile/artistry of war go brrr, and obviously Chain Lightning with Destructive Wrath is beautiful. Honestly don't even need to use Wet to one-shot things.
Astarion: Swords Bard 8 / Champion Fighter 4 (Respecced to start with Fighter for con saves, although it's not super necessary) - You get 3 feats to cover ASIs and Sharpshooter. Stack Dex and use the STR elixirs with the Titanstring bow and he just melts things. I switch to Deadshot in Act 3, but it's always a toss-up because Titanstring is so good. I know Bard 10 / Fighter 2 is also good for Magical Secrets, but I find I don't really end up needing it with the 3 casters. He mostly just uses utility or CC spells as needed.
Shadowheart: Storm Sorc 1 / Light Cleric 11 (or just Light Cleric 12). With Radorbs/Reverb gear she debuffs everything. Storm Sorc gives her extra mobility to move around the battlefield to have Spirit Guardians get applied on everything.
The three companions also give me all the buffs I could possibly want for succeeding in conversations. Gale and SH have Guidance, Astarion and SH have Enhance Ability, and Astarion also has Bardic Insp in a pinch. I don't think I've ever failed a check in conversation LOL. Also, between everyone I think I have like every spell I could possibly need in a situation.
I tend to swap Shadowheart the most in Act 3 depending on whose story is relevant, but honestly the party never struggles regardless. I think we KO-ed Sarevok before he even got to go. And my Durge annihilated Orin. Finally, I like this setup because there's very little overlap in gear. Durge gets Helldusk armor, Gale gets the Weave stuff, Astarion gets all the Critical Hit stuff, and Shadowheart claims the luminous armor and Radorbs/Reverb stuff. But I still like how you split the gear here even with so much overlap with the Bards :)
Can you share you stat spread for
Your characters here? The Gale setup has my interest
@@jeremesmith9266 Ack, so sorry I missed this! If you're still interested, I've provided my stat spread below, highlighting Gale. Happy to help if you have any other questions!
Gale: STR 8 | DEX 14 | CON 16 | INT 22 | WIS 12 | CHA 8
(INT is boosted by Mirror of Loss. Took 2 ASIs. Spell Save DC is 24 thanks to itemization. Has AC 20 with Mage Armor on and +6 to Initiative.)
Durge: STR 9 | DEX 16 | CON 23 | INT 12 | WIS 10 | CHA 22
Astarion: STR 8 | DEX 22 | CON 16 | INT 8 | WIS 10 | CHA 16
Shadowheart: STR 8 | DEX 14 | CON 16 | INT 10 | WIS 20 | CHA 10
Just won my first honor mode run where I used 2 of your builds. Went with a full fighter squad with 2 battlemasters (1 melee, 1 ranged), 1 crit champion, and a thrower eldrich knight. The burst damage the full team could do was just insane.
Thanks man looking forward to checking this out later!
Thank you! I love your builds. I am currently on my second attempt at Honour Mode - the first one went great until I could no longer carry my 4th party member with an experimental build and went into Grym ill-prepared and with a little bad luck with the dice rolls.
Second and current run is going halfway okay until now with a Paladin, a druid, Throwserker and OH Monk.
Next attempt will be with this builds. Hopefully after successfully completing this run haha
Thank you for the comment!
Grym is an outlier because of how gimmicky the battle is.
He can definitely be dangerous even with this party due to no Bludgeoning, but there's 3 ways of handling him:
1. Skipping the battle as it's permadeath
2. Doing the battle but with cheese by teleporting party members back to the waypoint once the platform starts going down, this way he CANNOT hit any ally at all.
3. Doing it normally, in which case I recommend being really sure you can do it and also respeccing some of the characters into let''s say Monks for huge bludgeoning damage!
@cRPGBro thank you so much 😊 I learned a lot from that failed first attempt and will be better prepared and specced. This game is so much fun.
@cRPGBro second run failed (Hag in the third act) but I finally did it in the third attempt. I went with your Swords Bard for my MC, a Throwserker until lvl 7, then respecced into your Swords Bard build, an Oath of Ancients Paladin (respecced into Bardadin at lvl 10 for that Bhaalist Armour and vulnerability for enemies, CC with the helmet of arcane Acuity and the Scoundrel band) and switched the 4 th member between your light cleric build and an OH TB Monk.
Once again, thank you for making this game so much better and sharing your builds and experiences with us ❤
Fantastic video, thank you. You are doing a great job !
Thanks a lot!
great video. Only change I would make is to use the arcane acuity helm on one of your bards. Easy to get spell save DC high enough for almost guaranteed spells
Nice. The main builds don't work that well in my game (with enemies a bit stronger than in Honour mode), f.e. because of low hit chances, but the ingenious idea with the hidden potion maker I will surely implement. :)
Just beat my first honor mode run using these builds for my party. Although I used Lae’zel as my MC and just had dark vision cast on her. Also, for the build for Shadowheart I multi-classed two levels into divination wizard for added versatility. The portent dice came in handy in Act 3.
Just thinking about it and you just delivered bro!
Always glad to be of service 😁
After beating honor mode myself I should say that your Astarion Machine Gun Build made like 75% of the work since lvl4 although I left it to Minthara after recruit her.
The legend returns!
"They came as you rested, figures cloaked in mist that clouded your thoughts, blurring the lines between consciousness and dreaming."
Completed honor mode on first try with this. Thanks!
Really? How much time was your playthrough? Im gonna try this
@@trainedbog6801 50h ish, was my 4th playthrough after 2 in tactician. From experience the bard with fog does way less dmg, not too bad but might as well take another build with a class who still have fog. Another thing is this team has so much short rests, u practically dont need to long rest, besides shadowheart. So u can replace her with a monk for example. Have fun !
@@xDestroy974 thanks.
My fav honour mode party is a fire cleave. Basically use a fire sorlock 11 sorc 1 warlock with the hat of fire acuity and spam scorching ray. The rest of the of the is a ranger with volley to spread combustion oil and a 12 champion fighter with the deadshot. I also use a light cleric for support and additional fire spells
Sounds like fun!
This is a great video, though is very min maxed :D I was asking before about Dark Urge party for Honour mode, but I guess the same will work just fine. Though I personally would go with more role play party
A more fitting RP party can be done indeed, it's just that I really wanted to guarantee the Permadeath/Ironman run even for those not used to it, which is why this party was built like this 😃
question, since the bards grab fighter and rogue, are they casting scrolls based on Int or CHA? Isn't it INT bc Fighter and rogue cast scrolls off of Int? Would it be better to later respec and take swords bard last to cast scrolls off of CHA?
Cool, thanks!
Have you considered doing more honour mode party builds? having the whole party composition in one video is so cool
I find gloomstalker/assasin on the dual handcrossbow bard better then figther/thief, especially when you utilize ambushes and surprise rounds regularly:
1 - you get same amount of attacks on the first round as with action surge (two attacks from opening strike are replenished on assassin plus one from gloom)
2 - you get bonus initiative from gloom
3 - you get one more spell level
4 - all your first round attacks are with advantage (without fog cloud or risky ring)
5 - ALL your first round attacks are criticals! (which doubles gloom's and bard's bonus damage as well as candle-dip trick bonus damage)
your bard/champ/thief may be a machine gun, but the bard/gloom/assassin is a machine gun with explosive rounds!
It's certainly a favorite class of mine!
I just really love all the Bard spells/extra Short Rest/and the flurry.
Love you for this comment I 100% agree but in order for the crits the enemy has to be surprised (not hard in some scenarios but still) and only one person gets the action replenish for assassin its the person who makes the first action so only tav or main character should do it and not all the time will the action replenish be utilized for instance a flight against like nere it forces you into a fight so your not the first person to use an action thus not replenishing the action you use (ik it's to early for these levels but it's still a great example) but you'll still do enough from yourself and team to overkill so honestly thanks for the suggestion imma do this for tav
Thanks!
You literally helped me. Thanks
Edit: this was after 20 mins.
This video is fuckin great after completing it
Hey CRPG Bro, thanks so much for the awesome guides. Not just on BG3, but also the ones for Rogue Trader. Great stuff! So I understand that "the best" would be like that one cleric support plus three bard turrets, but suppose i care about bringing party members along for the roleplay experience in TACTICIAN, would the "magic missle machine gun" for Gale, the "Throwmancer" for Karlach and one of the "Blaster" type of builds for Wyll be fine supposed I dont respec him into a full bard? The 4th spot remains flexible in my mind seeing as everyone has a personal quest they need to be along for. So "what" do I bring as a 4th member? A frontline fighter or something different altogether that doesnt work under the specific honor mode ruleset?
In Tactician Mode, you can definitely go with much bigger party variations because Ironman/Permadeath is not a thing.
And yep, that party composition will be just fine!
I would personally go for Shadowheart as a Cleric for the 4th spot, because it's one of the most important cornerstones of any party. Clerics are really good for powerful buffs, heals, auto-buffs, debuffs with Radiant Orb and other nice stuff!
@cRPGBro is the guide you made with sorc, monk, cleric, and bard/ranger still honor mode viable?
The only battle that was even remotely difficult for me was Myrkul. That one just needed the correct knowledge. shadowheart was only one on ledge to tank myrkuls attacks. Other 3 on ground. Astarion hits first and sucks the fear. Minthara reapplies fog cloud. Tav attacks Myrkul. I would walk shadowheart down reapply blade ward via healing and climb up again. It was a very intense battle. It didn't help I was playing an evil run through so I didn't have any help. Also the Ketheric/Drider duo battle made me have to flee and come back.
By the time you hit act 3, nothing stops you. Netherbrain dead in one round. Same for every other boss fight. I got concerned when I wasn't able to keep the warding bond on for the final battle, but it didn't affect much. Thanks for the help getting me through my first honour mode win!
Will be doing this now
Which is the better build, this one or the one from your swords bard video?
I just beat honor mode and it's cool to see other people's builds. I ran with 12 fighter/12 monk/10 paladin+2 fighter/8 sorcerer+2 cleric+2 fighter just a straight dps build no heals/debuffs and it ran through every boss including raphael
Nice!
I couldn't really do it without at least a level 5 Cleric myself, I love Spirit Guardians & Mass Healing Word for auto buffs.
For the ranger one i am having a little trouble understanding, none of my companions have proficiencies in hand crossbows as a druid/bard mc. Yeah fog cloud but no crossbows so do i stay ranger and just mc into bard?
Thoughts on replacing Gale's build with an Eldritch Knight thrower at lvl 3 to mid/late game? That way he can still cast fog cloud, but you get to leverage all the broken throw items for a while as well.
Great compilation.I’m totally new to this type of gaming and finding even easy level very difficult. I tried building these for a play through, unfortunately I have to play on Xbox and it doesn’t allow you to return to your starting class, but you can keep adding classes. I wasn’t using the easy mode for these,as Xbox limits changes to even number levels on this somewhat inappropriately thought of an easy mode, lol Sort of envy the PC players, together with the knowledge the DD community have for these games.
I might be wrong but you should be able to change your class through withers. I play on PS5 and when I ask him to change class it basically starts me over with all my XP back. Sucks to part with the gold though.
@@Psy-kun-jc9qc , thank you. What I am experiencing is that when I try multiple builds on Xbox, I cannot dip in and out of these builds like on so many CZcams videos. So if I use Bard and change to Fighter and maybe another class, once I exit any of these, I cannot respec back into them later in the game. It’s probably because I have no idea what I am doing, plus the incredibly clunky and awkward Xbox menu system pales in comparison to the click on display menu that I see on those using pc 🖥️. I’ll settle for one play through of the game though as it’s really good. I wonder what this type of game would be like with an AI generated dialogue, especially for conversations with our team and romantic partners while in camp ?
@@alancoffey3088once you dip out and want to dip back in don't click the the symbol to multi class again. During level up where it says bard 2 fighter 5 (or whatever you have) you should be able to slide back over to the other class to continue it. It's the screen that pops up as soon as you cclcik to level up
@@Tri7on Thank you very much. I actually stumbled on it myself a few days ago when my finger accidentally moved the class selection back to my original one, just before I was going to press X. Have just reached Act 3 for first time, spent over 10 hours totally lost but enjoying the scenery and surprises. However I will have to follow a long walk through on CZcams,as I want to do justice to my companions personal quests. As I am the easy difficulty, and have lots of stuff, I hope to keep purchasing to a minimum. Thing is that I know there are a lot of calculations and synergies to the builds and powers, but the fact is that I am never going to learn to understand how they work as have never played a RPG before, never mind one based on D&G. I am full of admiration for those that can, and share their knowledge on CZcams. Best wishes.
Great video as always. Are you looking forward to Dragon's Dogma 2 release and will you do content on that, would love to see your takes on a game like that when it comes out.
I definitely am! DD is one of my favorite RPGs.
wouldnt be the best in slot gear for the cleric the bhaalist armor when you have three crossbow dmg dealers?
should i respec into a level 1 fighter once i level up enough to get proficiencies?
Instead of 2 crossbows, one of your characters should have the titanstring bow + club of giant strength combo. This should come out on top in term of dmg especially since you can get both items in act 1. fits the composition well and its only and item change.
I think you miss out on the bonus attack unless you have the duel bow
I've reading the commends and so many ppl clamming to have a hard time doing honour mode.
Me and a Friend just made out second run on the game and finished the honour mode( our first was on tactician to learn the game).
In case this helps anyone here what we did:
1- we tried to made the same steps as before since we knew what was going to happen, we abuse surprise as much as we could, invi pot plus atk, or using imp invi to start for us.
2- we player with an entire diferente comp from our first play though, so it would be more challenging(and because we follow no guide first time and they were very weak) and i think our comp was rly good for honour mode: tavern brawler monk, fire base sorcerer, moon druid and light cleric.
MY moon druid didn't die a single time the entire campain and saved us twice from wipe and losing our honour mode by becoming invi and running from the fight, but you need to understand the his dmg isn't rly high, it's more on a decent level unless you abuse stomps but I don't know how to do it.
The monk would kill most boss on turn one and when it failed almost always left it stun with is basically the same.
The fire sorcery at the end of act 2 and act 3 became a real dmg machine against anything that wasn't fire immune doing insane dmg and from this point no boss would survive his and monk dmg turn 1.
the cleric was there to do some sup and stuff, but to be honest, i think another character focus on doing dmg would be better, i think sup in this game is kind weak once you understand how to do a very good turn 1 +surprise.
Use the moon druid/imp/cleric to pull heroic action always this way monk and sorcerer are free to hit the boss as they wish.
3- to be honest there are only 2 fights in the game that worries me, the first is on act one against the githyanki, that leader of them do like 5 atk on turn one and kill 1 to 2 heroes alone, surprising them and dealing with her as fast as human possible is key to win the fight.
The second fight that always worries me is against Myrkul, on both of our run at some point we tough we were fucked, but we manage to stabilize the fight both times.
Hope it helps
For the main character, If you're going for double attack spam anyways, wouldn't be better to go for the composite longbow for more dmg (using str potions)? you only get thief 3 on lvl 12 so you will spend almost the entirety of the game with just one bonus action, and being a bard you get many ways you could use the bonus action, we could even do something like bard 6 fighter 4 war cleric 1 (for being able to use the bonus action for attacking at lvl 11 instead of 12) and then get wiz 1 or something idk it doesn't matter at this point, thoughts?
Can not use blessed and spirit of the guardians at the same time on the Cleric tank ? , just learning the game so sorry if its a silly question .
11:28 was this changed? whenever i drop fog cloud on the enemies, none of my characters with darkvision can hit the targets, it says there is no line of sight
Do you have a guide or would you think it would be worth making one for best Honour builds that don't rely on Fog Cloud? The reason I'm asking is that I don't like that it's working different to dnd rules, and also I find it boring playing with 3 same characters 😊
This ish is intense.
Hey there thanks for the video ! Whats the dye you're using on the bard at 2:04 please ?
Hi there, that's just the normal tint for the Yuan Ti Scale Mail Armor!
The last thing you can do with this party is getting infinite long rests! Keep leveling Brinna to get another feat (8 Wizard/4 bard or 6 Wizard/4 Bard/2 Sorcerer to turn your higher level Spell slots into lower ones) and pick novice Druid to learn Summon Goodberries. By mass producing level 1 Spell slots as a Sorcerer and/or reactivating them with Arcane Recovery to spam Goodberries you can get enough to last for a full Long Rest. This way you can start every fight with things like Surgeons Subjugation or Killers Sweetheart active, always.
I feel like so many people playing this game don't take the time to respec the other characters and only focus on their own TAV build. I usually do an Oathbreaker Paladin TAV that can pretty much solo the whole game, but then do Shadowheart as a Light Domain/Radiating Orb Cleric who can tank the entire game all by herself, respec Asterion as a Sword Bard archer with double crossbows who also could tank the whole game alone with 15 attacks per round, then usually just spec Gale to have the best AOE spells and with this combo I could leave my TAV just standing there watching and never worry about dying. It starts to get boring with 4 tank builds at one time.
Can anyone help with the armor Asterius is using? Like hat, cloack, plate and boots
Can you go more in depth on the shadow heart build/abilities? I don't understand
great video! always wanted a tryhard party for honour! btw, if u guys want the achievement (with no mods ofc), u can abuse the new buying glitch (sell a bag to the merchant on that direct trade tab), then put everything u want from him inside the bag u sold, close the bag, switch beetween party members without closing the conversation, Double click the bag to open it and take all for free 0)! (its the new version of it)
The only problem when I follow cRPG build is I have no idea what this boss can do since the battle pretty much end in 1 - 2 turns in combat. I was intentionally reload and skip a turn or two just to see what the Nightsong can do and what she would say when fighting Keteric
I know what you mean and know what you saying about his op builds on most of games, but it's more a problem with the game being a joke lol ( sadly something commom nowdays for brain dead new generations ), i picked up the game for the 4th time, to try end it and i'm duoing Honour mode with my MC barb and shadowheart cleric ( i refuse to go alone, i need some party banter.. ), and i'm destroying everything with ease.... how people struggle with this game ?... is beyong me.
I believe the alpha strike/rocket tag nature of D&D games has always been a thing, especially once you hit around level 5 or so 😁
babe wake up, new cRPG Bro video just dropped
Thanks, friend!
how would you recommend handling the shambling mound that is immune to piercing damage in act 2?
You're probably already past it but Ive just beaten it. Get the force crossbow from roah moonglow, risky ring, broodmothers amulet, cats grace etc etc. With action surge and haste you get like 10 attacks so you can kill shambling mound with just your main crossbow as it not longer deals piercing, it becomes force. I find it to be the best crossbow to be honest
You cant do the transmutation stones anymore in Honor Mode. Did you not read the patch notes or are you saying they didn't actually patch this out even though they said they did?
I believe I tried giving the Stone to another character and it still worked, perhaps it's because the footage from that particular scene was before the latest big patch!
As I'm changing the ranger to a druid bard I don't have proficiency with hand crossbows so I can't use sharpshooter, did I miss something or is sharpshooter not used with the 3rd swords bard?
Did you ever figure this out in having the same problem
@@LilDaddySNK I think what I did was instead of starting with druid, do 1 level with bard and then druid
well by what your saying you need to make your whole camp in bards so more short rests
I did try this build but i did die to the act 2 end boss. I made a few errors and got punished
Could you include a written guide for this?
I don't understand for shadowheart the feat in resilient for Con, don't you get that from the amulet of greater healing already? It says Advantage on Con saving throw checks
It's just that the Amulet is Act 3 only, and you might also want other choices.
But yep, you can respec Shadowheart and dump the CON points and the feat into something else by the time you get the Amulet!
@@cRPGBro if you give her the transmuters stone you can respecc even earlier.
I have to ask brother , can we make this build for any origin character or it must be a half wood elf always ?
Hi there, and thank you so much for the Super Thanks!
It doesn't have to be Half Elf, ideally a race that has Darkvision would be ideal for Fog Cloud synergy, so your best choices are:
Elf, Half-Elf, Tiefling, Dwarf, Duergar, Gnome, Drow & Half-Orc.
Out of the origin characters, basically only Laezel, Gale and Wyll are lacking it due to their races.
Half-Elf has another benefit of letting you equip Shields as a Bard, but later with Fighter multiclassing you can make up for that.
thank you so much my brother , and keep up the good work
Oh damn, I didnt know about the Alchemist
It's really good, as it's both 2x Potions AND the Transmuter Stone that can be passed freely!
How do you use a 5th character? You just swap them in at camp to then craft and then swap out for your travelling party? That's very sneaky :)
Yep, it's even easier now that you can swap without having to manually dismiss characters first.
Ideally just grab the Brinna the Alchemist when you want to craft, like before a Long Rest or so.
You can also use her for an extra Song of Rest for more Sword Bard Flourish/Action surge spammage by swapping her for Shadowheart, using the Song on all 3 Bard allies, then getting Shadowheart back!
I started as llight cleric and died few times even before Withers, even with 21 ac you will get hit a lot, and without barbs or half orc resistances it can be oneshot, so always heal up after every hit asap
If you're dieing before picking up Withers, which you'd get at lvl 3'ish, you're doing something wrong. You wouldn't have 21 AC before Withers as you'd go for Withers as early as possible, imo. You basically use Clerics early on for bless and support and then hide them and build into dex to attack from range if needed. You'd have Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale and Laezel at this point and so you already have 3 characters that will be your damage dealers. Make full use of your radiance of dawn as it's one of the best aoe spells early in the game. Once you get ways to build up your radiant orb and have enough spell slots to use spirit guardians regularly you wont get hit
If you're going for Ironman, remember you can bypass most early battles until level 4 by just using Minor Shapeshift and changing into a Drow! While still getting all the XP of course, you can for example reach level 4 with minimal battles.
IF you want to do all battles normally, then I highly recommend doing the Ambush/Stealth approach for suprise rounds, because pretty much all early Act 1 battles let you do it just fine.
@@cRPGBro I specifically want tankiest tank to go bluntly everywhere, light cleric is good, its just me I thought im invincible watching all this misses, and didnt heal asap because I thought this hit was an exception, and then I get another with max damage
Got my golden dice with this comp. It was so easy.
Glad to hear it!
Bards are really OP.
I'm not shocked by the 3 or 4 archer character, but i would have use at least one character with the titan bow and the 19 strengh club
Its strong and you now have a mule =D
Are you using mod's or something? The game doesn't let you double up in medicine with the multiclass wizard/bard transmutation wizard for crafting. I'm in honor mode and attempted several combo's to replicate your strategy, but it doesn't work.
I need that written build for that bard rouge fighter
The "Friends" cantrip should come with an instruction manual on how to use it without being forced to wipeout all the tieflings because Rolan didn't like being charmed. Lol
Ideally it's best to use against targets that won't be left alive later or you won't return to talk to again like most avoidable battles!
@cRPGBro I learned it the hard way, and thankfully, I was only 2 hours deep into my run.
Darkvision scrolls last to long rest and does not require concentration and can be found everywhere. Why pick a race based on this?!
Mostly because it's just an extra, and not really the race defining feature.
For example, Wood Half-Elf still has Shield Proficiency for Bard & Higher Movement on top of that, Orc has higher crit damage and so on.
I also wanted to be free of consumables since ideally at least 3 of your party members should have Darkvision for Fog Cloud abuse, especially as early as possible.
Dark vision can also be camp cast
It would be great if you had gone through the different items you have on each person and why? Because it looks like shadow heart is using a swird she isn't proficient with
Shadowheart is using Phalar Aluve because of how extremely powerful it is for the Shriek ability and generating loads of extra damage.
It is true she is not Proficient with it, but that doesn't matter much as the whole point is to increasedamage for our 3 Swords Bards AND also her own Spirit Guardians/Radiance of the Dawn domain power.
Before Phalar Aluve you can just use a Dagger +1.
This worked super well for me until I party wiped at the Shar leap of faith trial!
The Hag Hair is still bugged on Xbox so its only Strength
only boss i wonder about is the forge boss. Since its more mechanics and less zerg down.
Does melee work with fog cloud if you have darkvision?
Yep, but in this case it's better to cast it on enemies that are close to the edge of the Cloud, because this way your melees, especially with 2H weapons, can attack from outside.
Otherwise if enemies are too far inside the cloud, you'll be blinded as well!
But there is an item in Chapter 2 that makes you immune to blind so that can help melees, the Eversight Ring!
@@cRPGBro oh im very interested in that. casting fog or darkness but being immune to it running around with my PAM Hexblade is gonnna be dope
No monk for honor mode???
I believe transmuter stone was nerfed to not work unless the caster is in party.
Transmuter's stone still maintains the effect even if the stone disappears.
I fought with that tactics the best class in the game is Sorcerer/Warlock.
It's another great one, but I think it takes longer to get as good as Sword Bard, due to the scaling nature of Eldritch Blast!
Shadowheart isn't proficient with Phalar Aluve - does that matter? I guess she doesn't really deal a lot of dmg with her melee.
It just decreases her own hit chance with that sword, nothing else. No implications on her spells or spirit guardians. Not proficient with armor has more implications.
no, planar aluve's buff/debuff doesn't require proficiency to be cast, and she wont be making weapon attacks as a light cleric.
So basically, turn your enemies into hedgehogs.
The only fight I've needed to use consumables on in act 1 was the Hag and Inquisitor. Everything else is done without any buffs at all.
It's really fun to have an Alchemist crafting 20 Haste Pots at Act 1 though!
@@cRPGBro very! Sadly my Honor mode ended. Got over confident and tried to fight the shambling mound at level6.
@@cRPGBro it is! I have 25 in my camp inventory. Haven't used one yet. I prefer sorc twinned haste.
Sumon party work in honour mode?
Yep, but summons take a while to come, usually level 5-7 for Druid for example which is the best Summoner.
Phalar Aluve is especially important due to adding 1d4 damage to ALL summon attacks, and you can have a lot! Or you can use it to auto bless them all due to lower summon hit chance.
I'm surprised you didn't utilize a summoner. If not just to use as meat sponges.
It's mostly due to heavy Alpha Strike nature of this party, so there's not that much needed for tanking or meatshields.
But my first run through Tactician was full on giga summoner party!
What’s the staff Gale is using?
Melf's First Staff for higher DC, found in Act 1, later you can go for the Legendary Staff, Markoheshkir.
Thank you : )@@cRPGBro
the druid./bard is not proficient in hand crossbows
My brain is too fucked to make this comp viable. As soon as I get the sniper trait, I wipe. I really can't make bard work, it's insane lmao.
I’m so bored of bard now. They’ve been op for so long it’s just tiring. I’m trying to switch it up on my Gale playthrough
THIS IS BRAZIL VALEU MANO
Divirta-se 😁
Tl;Dr: he basically recommends being triple Swords Bard and one super tanky healer/buffer as his "strongest party."
Given pretty much everyone agrees Swords Bard is the best build in the game, this isnt a huge surprise, though a bit boring imo
The team looks too frail, especially for the first part of the game
Running swords bard, gloomstalker, monk, and light cleric (close to this) but I thought the same thing. May work better mid-late game when shadowheart be more of a tank
This seems like one of the least fun feeling honor mode parties I've seen out there. Maybe it is just unbelievably powerful but it feels very one trick pony compared to more normal a tank, striker, nuke and support style parties. I've done it with a pretty classic party Fighter, Wizard, Cleric, Rogue-Ranger and Tiger cleave barb, Monk, lore bard, sorlock and didn't find it needed quite so much.
It's mostly that I was requested my thoughts on the best possible party for Honour, so this was the one I thought would fit it best!
Never make the main character a bard, they can't use bardic inspiration on self.
That's why Astarion is one as well!
But usually we just want to spend the Inspiration for more Flourish use.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY ADS!!!!
Excellent build! But because I want to play as Shadowheart, she has to be the main char, and she will be a Trickery cleric, because Light for a Cleric of Shar as a protagonist, come on man, it's stupid. Radiant Breastplate and Gloves will be enough. Otherwise, too easy. Invoke Duplicity should be good actually, to replace the Fog Cloud sometimes in some occastions, when the enemies are spread out and the characters are not. And Bestow Curse and Fear spells also sometimes... Anyway, I want her to be: Cleric 5/ Rogue 1/ Bard (Valour or Lore)/ Ranger Gloomstalker 3. Cleric is base class otherwise you lose Cleric of Shar dialogue options, Rogue one level for 2 Expertise and 1 Proficiency only, for checks, Bard 3 College of Lore (for Cutting words could be saving in some difficult situations, even if at Level 9 only. After all, there will be no warding flare... 6 Short rests and concerts!!), and finally Ranger Gloomstalker for extra Initiative and Umbral Shroud. At Level 12, I can replace Alert with something else and use Elixirs of Vigilance, these can be actually farmed at Kobold trader guy in the circus (using long rests or respeccing). Love partner will be wielding a warding ring for her, for all resistances. I will pick Rogue at Level 2! And then up to Level 6 as Cleric. Then Bard and Ranger. And Gale character will go for Level 2 sorcerer, not a Druid. I think there is quite a few chances there for the enemy to win. Just will keep the scrolls on hand if something happens... And of course, do not fight any bosses, until getting Level 4-5 for everyone. And maybe Ranger 3 is not neccesary. And it is better to get to a Level 6 College of Lore bard, for inspirations and Haste and Slow (or any 2 spells up to lvl 3). What do you think?
Actually honour mode is pretty easy, you dont need this min maxing builds with zero roleplay.
Some of us suck at games and need all the help we can get.
It's like cooking from a well-researched recipe; you can substitute ingredients you don't have/ would rather not use but no guarantee it will work out the same way.
@@stinkymuffin But he is not wrong, really, go with whatever you like for roleplay, my Barbarian and shadowheart cleric duo are destroying Honour mode, and that's playing normally, no scummy bugs/tricks, or evading content to go directly to a certain item... once you hit level 5 the game go from easy mode to complete joke mode, the power creep is... lol..
@@stinkymuffinImagine “sucking” at a turn based game. Where you literally have infinite time to think and analyze in every single encounter.
While it's indeed not that much of a difficulty upgrade over Tactician, I just wanted to cover my thoughts on what party would truly have the easiest time with it.
"party build" where 3 members are the same. ok dude
If an option is OP, it's justified in doing. This wasn't listed as most fun thematic builds or most interesting.
@GodwynDi exactly. If this team is strong asf then the title doesn't lie, all that matters to some that are trying to get through honour mode.
WotR is still better despite the lack of voice acting and nudity.
I think both have their charm. WotR is definitely more complex but BG3 is a great and easier introduction for people new to the type of games
bro, they are not even close, the combat in wotr is just a nightmare, if you play higher than normal, then the walking Nahindri crystals become walking torments, like bosses with a bunch of buffs that cannot be removed in most cases, it cannot be removed with a higher dispersion of magic with all the debuffs for saving throws. And the plot simply boggles the mind with its absurdity. For Nenio's personal quest, the developers will receive a separate hell cauldron
@@MrLink congratulations, you got baited
No.
WotR has pretty bad rpg system with constant repetition in innate skills(same but worse/better), huge amount of useless stuff, and diablo like gameplay (then you win in math and just leave on autopilot) in second half of the game with hordes of enemies which even worse then bg3.
And shitty crusade. Hate this system, even then you turn it off you must constantly return to city to rest and research map by yourself.
Also combat kinda same but worse - no verticality, pretty limited martial skills etc.
In story and char aspect both a pretty equal, but i like bg3 more every char more fleshed out, but its more about taste.
@@93overlord another one lol
