The behaviour of the supreme court encourages this problem
That's because so many supreme court justices were put on the court by Donald Traitor Trump
I cant help but agree. Trump being a former and currently running candidate for presidency should NOT alter lawful rules and ettiquette but appareantly, it does proving yet again that people are NOT equal before the law
No, the evangelical republican members of the supreme court, all 6, but more specifically, Alito and Thomas, encourage this behavior. People need to not generalize the offenders. There is only one party, the evangelical republican party of Reagan to tRump, and all its members, are the issue, across the board.
The judges used to be voted in by partisan votes. Now, it's non partisan. The judge majorities were picked specifically to vote a specific way on issues in order to be picked as a candidate. The rule of law is being over run by bullies that want to do what they want with no laws at all. They were never told no as children. They should be sent to Russia & see how they like authoritarianism. We are a civilization, not the stone age. Respect is completely gone from the republican party. Any normal, sane Republicans should run as independents.
Encourage? Some of them are clearly in on it.
Rachel is truly one of the best. I live in Sweden and can say that we Swedes are really worried about what is happening in the USA. Thank you for your work against these destructive forces bubbling up in the United States.
I’m from Canada and the Alberta government is taking away rights in their province. I am worried about the US and also Alberta. The Alberta premier and her party are supported by the far right, and are taking the Republicans playbook to heart. Scary!

I have never understood why attacking the Judge and DA were not included in the multiple gag orders. Being allowed to attack them negatively impacts the judicial process.
He is giving leeway in order to undercut the inevitable appeal... Can't say the judge was being unfair, if anything he has given far too Many chances. Appeal will be DOA
He's a real leader -- willing to take the pressure on himself for the good of the democratic principle overall.
I think it's done to avoid any appearance of the judge being self-serving and/or biased against the defendant.
Not that Trump doesn't say that anyway. He doesn't need reality or facts to support his diatribes, after all.
These comments are on the right track.
The judge excluded himself, which is an act worthy of respect, to prevent appellate arguments that he was injudicious, to let the public see that justice must be seen to be done, and to reduce spurious contentions from adverse commentators that he is acting unfairly.
The judge excluded the prosecution knowing criticism of their conduct goes with the job and that free speech, no matter how non-fact based or how idiotic, is a hallmark of a free society.
What a warning! U.S.citizens, please, do not be scared and protect your democracy. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and praying for you. Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic.

Elections and peaceful transfer of power is just too woke for the GOP.
When the Obama gang realized that Trump was going to be the next President in 2017, they went into high gear sabotage and subversion mode. Working with their Deep State buddies, Comey, Clapper and Brennan, the Obama WH decided to go full steam ahead with the Trump-Russia collusion scam, with the intent to get Trump impeached and removed from office. They tapped Trump's phones and tried to entrap and frame his associates.
Meanwhile, Obama appointed/installed a stay-behind network of his loyalists in newly-created government positions, placed there to help sabotage the incoming Trump admin.
Then, Obama bought and moved into a house a few miles down the road from the WH, to act as a headquarters, a second WH for his 'shadow' government.
Talk about a peaceful transfer of power. Ha.
They must be taught that being Woke is a virtue, not a vice. Having recognition of the reality of injustice and the willingness to face it and try to resolve it is what adult people do, not hide and deny its existence or make laws to prohibit even discussing the problems. Being anti-Woke is living in a state of delusional denialism that solves nothing and ultimately makes the problems worse. Democracy requires that people engage and participate in an informed manner. The maga cult rejects information and embraces what aligns with their engrained prejudices and biases leaving them to reject reality and think if they go with a conman and pathological liar who will tell them what they want to hear, they can make all their sick dreams come true.
