    Michael Shannon (the guy that played General Zod) did such a good job in his portrayal. He revealed in interviews that he played it as if Zod was the actual hero in the film. Zod, the whole time, thought he was in the process of saving his world and Superman was standing in the way. Definitely an interesting way to play it and, once you see it from that perspective, you start to understand how that turned into a great performance.

    • @joshmorales770
      @joshmorales770 Před 2 lety +64

      Still the best villain in the entirety of the mess that is the D.C.E.U.; Zod was genetically engineered to serve the single purpose of ensuring the survival of his species. In the end, Superman stole that from him and destroyed all that Zod had lived his life to preserve and protect. Zod's loss in that moment, and Shannon's portrayal of it, was done superbly.

      Yeah it's a shame the character was great and now it's essentially untouchable. When Man of steel came out I argued that this movie would have been so much better if they had just made Amy Adams character be Chloe instead and dropped the romantic subplot.

    Lana Lang is Clark Kent's childhood sweetheart, they grew up together in smallville. Lois Lane comes into his life when he moves to Metropolis and becomes a reporter, she's an accomplished reporter working in the same newspaper. In the series "Smallville" they mix this up as teenager Clark meets Lois, who is a reporter, visiting Smallville.
