As a single mom, I choose not to post about my autistic son on social media because people have cruelly mocked him, and called him "retarded" in the past. I used to watch one girl who gained followers by claiming to be a single mom who paid off thousands of dollars in debt. Kudos to her. But she later posted about her kids being gone with their dad, and how the dad pays monthly support. Its annoying. Just be a mom(if thats your claim to fame). Single, co-parenting, married, whatever.
As a NaNa of an autistic grandson, I truly appreciate you sharing your story. I’m so sick and tired of people with these horrible attitudes and comments when they have no idea or empathy which is not needed at all.
