  • Does fat really have more stem cells than bone marrow or is this an urban myth used to sell fat stem cell procedures?

    Hello Doc. What are your thoughts on umbilical cord usage for stem cell shots? I have a shoulder impingement and frozen shoulder. Thank you.

      This is a scam, as these products contain no stem cells, see www.regenexx.com/stem-cell-research/

    Even though both areas, fat and bone marrow have similar amount of stem cells in total, the percentage matters because if you are extracting the same amount from both areas, you are only getting the percentages you mentioned in the draw, not the total amount available. For bone marrow you would have to extract much more to get the same number of stem cells. Is this not true @Chris Centeno?

      No, for total stem cell count, that's not true.

    what can you do for people who are getting too old ?
    im only 30 and i feel like a old man!
    i dont drink or smoke .
    i dont do drugs and i take vitamins.
    i still feel old and my hair is 40% grey!
    is there anything for people like me -AND please discuss cost!
    i dont mind paying for something as long as i know what it cost before hand.

      30 years of age or stem cells are quite good. I don't know what you need so it's tough to discuss cost.

      ok so forget cost -what would you recommend to a patient who is in their 60's and wants to rejuvenate their body?
      do you have anything in like a IV drip? are people donating their stem cells ?
      is it a operation to cut into the bone marrow?

      Injecting stem cells IV means that 97% will end up in your lungs, so that would work great if you have a lung problem. Other than that, see www.regenexx.com/blog/industry-news/introducing-my-latest-book-regenexx-proactive/

    i wonder who is doing research in "limb lengthening" by Stem Cells, not only repair for fractions and non unions ? which institution does research on this already? I’m willing to participate as proband

    • @centenohome
      @centenohome  Před 8 lety

      +MultiPunkFairy There has been some research in Russia implanting stem cell scaffold plates for the purpose of limb lengthening. I'm not aware of any similar research going on here as of yet.

    Hi Cris, I was reading that the synovial fluid contains stem cells as well. if this is true. why joints or for example meniscus tear dose not heal itself?

    • @centenohome
      @centenohome  Před 7 lety

      Abdulaziz Adil the numbers are very low and the chemical micro environment is not healthy. in addition, only part of the meniscus has blood supply.

      Chris Centeno, M.D. Thanks
      I think adipose stem cells as "SVF" is used along with PRP to treat meniscus tear. I was reading a research on that. do you think it works?
      dose Regennex do this?

    • @centenohome
      @centenohome  Před 7 lety

      Abdulaziz Adil,
      No. While adipose tissue contains stem cells, our research has shown the type they contain works well for cosmetic surgery and for organs, not for orthopedic repair.

      @centenohome  Před 7 lety +1

      Abdulaziz Adil,
      Your joints are repairing themselves constantly, otherwise after a quick run they would be ruined for life! It's when the joint doesn't have adequate stem cells for the job, that we need to introduce new troops for the task in the form of your own stemcells.

      Chris Centeno, M.D. Many thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoy the discussion. can I understand that it is effective to use bone marrow stem cells to treat meniscus tear?
      In your opinion what is the proper treatment for meniscus tear?

    does it help in hair loss?

    • @centenohome
      @centenohome  Před 7 lety

      bob cat,
      There are hair loss stem cell treatments, but Regenexx uses stem cells to treat orthopedic injuries and arthritis.
