*Works great with **Fastly.Cool** , exactly as described. Love the fact that it can push, pull, or exchange air with the push of a button. The remote is a nice bonus too!*
Hey Tony, You could also install full length screen door and keep the solid regular door for security. So when you are painting you can just open the door and allow the fresh air through the screen door and install fllters on the screen door or build a filter box around the fan.
Yeah well, too late. lol. No need for security, we have gates and a moat around the property! :)
That would have been a major opening though. We'll see how this works out.
Yep or 1/2 door screen
What about water heater is that a problem
Aloha, Hi Tony. I've been watching your vids for awhile. Just today I was watching your video and you mentioned Ewa, wow only then I new you were from Hawaii. I was born on Oahu and fished a lot in ewa beach actually all over the island. You don't have any accent. I live in California now and really miss Hawaii.
I've started spraying from 97 off and on. Moved to east coast for 3 years weather to cold to spray. I spray when weather gets warmer. It's really nice to see a local on you tube. I will be watching for your T-shirt, want to support another brother.
I sprayed ppg alot. I love DBC,
Delton single stag, shop line, A lot of House of Kolor candy. Motorcycle respray. I started spraying when gravity spray guns just came out. First gun was Bink HVLP. I remember Satas NR95, now they have Sata 5500. Wow time flys.
Look forward to your new videos.
Aloha and God Bless.
Looks like a nice set up. I can't wait to do some painting this year on my Supras once I can get some good temperatures again.
Well Done!! All the best from South Africa
Looking good bro. Can't wait to see some projects go down in the new booth.
Thanks Aaron! -- Dude, lots of work here but it's getting there! As you can see! lol Will start banging out EPIC projects out of here soon my man!!!
Just an idea.
Good idea to build a box for the exhaust fan and have a filter between the fan in the box, it doesn’t matter if it’s inside or outside box.
As long as it’s easy to change.
Exhaust fan, paint fumes should go through filter first as your exhaust fan sucks the air through the filter first. Otherwise your fan and everything outside that fan is going to build up all different paint colors and dust buildup and not easy to clean up.
Otherwise keeping your home/garage clean on the outside🤷🏻♂️
Keep up the good work👍
Looking sweet love the fan , coming along nicely, cant wait to we see some paint action , its going to be epic
I love the fan setup... I am looking at something similar... I need to pull negative pressure in my garage to keep the paint smell from getting into the house...
Oh yeah! Guys lets wait for the new projects to come. The videos are going to be better! Imagine tutorials in HD! I cant wait!!!
Tony ... great video. What fan did you buy and what was your source?
I really like this set up, but out of curiosity I wanted to ask
1) are you not using exhaust filters?
2) are you doing body work and painting in there?
Lookin good Tony
Thanks Bud
New subscriber here thank u for your videos lot of help for me
Best autobody/paint teacher on CZcams hands down.. you taught me everything I know appreciate you brother!! 🤜🏼🤛🏻

That's a sweet setup you have there. I also noticed your toolbox. I have the same one and color. I thought i was going to stack it by myself, but found out real quick I needed help. I had to get help just to remove it from my trailer and into my basement. Then had to get help to stack them together. I thought I had a ton of tools till i started filling it with my tools 😆. I had to go buy more just to make it look full. Keep up the great content.
Get a fog or smoke machine and fill your garage with the fog or smoke then turn your fan on. That will tell you how much air flow you truly have. And it will let you know if you need another fan or vent.
Already did that 😂👌😎 with some herbal smoke... jk
Looks good mate👍🍺
Thanks 👍 Learn more here: learnautobodyandpaint.com
where did you get the fan from
I'm looking at getting a fan for my home spray booth do I need to get an explosion proof fan is the fan you have a regular fan
Hey Tony , let me clarify the screen door. Its really a typical screen door that is usually installed in combination with a door, so its two doors in the same opening. Glad you have gates and a moat. LOL
I made a small diy paint booth for motorcycle parts and furniture. Harbor freight has a blower but I’m sure isn’t flame resistant if i have a filter in front of the the exhaust do you think I’d be safe? I don’t wanna buy a $500 flame resistant blower exhaust fan
How did you make the garage air tight?
Maybe putting a small incremental filter in front of the fan, to stop the larger particles, may extend the life span of the fan, without restricting too much of the air flow.....?
Nice... in close it with the open part of the opening facing down. By friend had your type of set up. Pain flew everywhere. Couldn't control it. So we Googled and found his solution
Good idea Man! Keep cranking! For the step by step process of our auto body and paint projects check out LABAP VIP Program at learnautobodyandpaint.com
Were did you buy the air filter & holder?
Can you let us know where you bought your fan from ? Thanks
Isn't there suppose to be some kind of filter for the exaust so EPA doesn't try to fine you for pollution?
When you see the filter being sucked in it is a indication that the air filter has a lower CFM rating then the exhaust fan CFM
is there a part 2?
Did you turn off your boiler when you paint
I had too much air flow in my booth & caused solvent pop. I installed a variable speed switch like you did to slow fan down & fixed my solvent pop issue.
I have the same compressor and bought hockey pucks from ebay for mounting on floor.
@@jeffeaton5221 Great idea. Did you still bolt it down?
@@HowToPaintYourCar Yes 3/8 anchors
Watch epoxy floors with gun wash, reducer etc.. can melt the epoxy leaving it soft and will start to leave foot prints and lift.
Sup buddy I’m a new subscriber I’m learning more as I watch your videos thx for all the info! Is there anyway you can tell me what brand the fan is and the speed controller? Thx…
Hey Man! I got it from Amazon, it is Call Down and the speed controller brand is IPOWER. To learn more on how to paint and customize your car in the comforts of your own home check out learnautobodyandpaint.com
what's the purpose of the black ceiling.
What about fumes and sparks from the motor
Doesnt tha fan need a filter too?
Link to your fan?
Whats the name of fan?
I'm looking to do something very similar to this set up, but was hearing some concerns about the fan motor, compressor motor, or lighting possibly causing the fumes to ignite. I know you have experience with this and I personally have never heard of it happening, so anything obvious I should look out for? Thanks.
You’re good as long as you’re not using any type of gas heat or propane nearby. You’re good as long as you’re not using any type of gas heat or propane nearby.
nice set up Tony, my question or concern is about the water heater - pilot lite any issues ?
No issues, electric heater. A pilot light won’t light paint overspray anyway. It’s not that flammable.
@@HowToPaintYourCar thank you
Tony, wouldn't be a bad idea to put an exhaust filter on before the fan. Keeps overspray off blades and motor
I did that on a booth one time and the filter was restricting air in the first 10 min of spraying
Hello Tony I need your advice I I am painting my car I did paint the base coat on but I don't have time right away to add the clear..do I need to sand the base after sitting for days? What sand should I use? Wet or dry...ty
Yeah I would. Scuff it with 800. If you have more base, scuff it with 800 and lay a fresh coat of base, then flash, then tack it and clear it!
What fan link ?
What do you do about the water heater? Do you have to turn the pilot light off to avoid combustion? I also want to turn my garage into a spray booth thx

How many cfm is the fan rated for and what is the filter capable of? Need to match them up.
I don't get that technical... LOL The fan does 4500 cubic feet a min. All I know is that I need more airflow.
Put a second filter in the door. What's on the outside from the fan?
Nothing yet..
@@HowToPaintYourCar Concerned about fumes getting into house so make sure the door to the house is well sealed. Don't put anything outside the vent to impede dissipation or have anything you care about like plants, fruit trees, dog run or kids play area. The trades should carry the away the fumes/toxins. I'd put in the second fan in and would a dehumidifier, for the wet days, but would that be overkill? Or put a dehumidifier in that slot maybe.
Ran across your channel while looking for ideas on setting up my garage paint booth for a few cars I have to paint. Turns out we are quite close, I'm in Aiea.
Cool brah!!
Tony I assume the fan motor is intrinsically safe with flammable fumes passing through it.
Yes of course.
@@HowToPaintYourCar How? Aren't only brushless fans safe?
@@HowToPaintYourCar we're did you get your fan from?
what do you do for neighbors complaining about paint fumes?
Be on good terms with them. Luckily for me, we have a lot of space so it really doesn't matter. Main thing is being cool with them, and make sure you ask them to move their cars if you think overspray will hit.
Why do you need that setup??
Nice setup💯👌🏿 Where can I buy this exhaust fan?
Thanks Man! Glad you enjoyed it! You can check it out on Ebay. Know more tips on auto body and paint and get your free manual at vip.learnautobodyandpaint.com/home
Can I email you some of the pics of my car have been doing it a month a Chevy Malibu 2008 I have been taking a lot off before I paint it I tried to take the outer plastic around the windows attached to the metal strip but couldn't get that plastic off but only thing else besides that was gonna take off the door knobs and the back lights I already took off the grille in front, front lights, doors and inside door panels.
Yes buddy! You can email at ninjasupport@learnautobodyandpaint.com

where did you find your intake filter holder thingy?
Looks like he's using a typical in-wall filter holder for residential heat/ac air return...
Any big box store many sizes available...
Won't you get paint all over the fan?
What is the cfm of your exhaust fan?
Hey Man! CFM was 2600 ft.³ per minute. Hope this helps! If you want a step-by-step process on auto bodywork and paint, head on over to the website and read about the LearnAutoBodyAndPaint VIP Program www.learnautobodyandpaint.com/

You can do the math for the correct airflow. Are you going to be spraying solvent paints❓❓is that a special fan so you don’t explode from a small spark. ❓❓❓
