  • Troy asked for a video on how to setup a VE table. I may have misunderstood the request but initial setup, explanation of values, and the process of how to fill in the table are covered. Thanks for the suggestion Troy.
edit- One thing I didn't mention is that you need to have a good idea of where your turbo is going to spool and where it will start to drop. Much like an NA application this can be modified by the cams and intake manifold design.

Thank you for sharing your valuable information I’m now getting more comfortable with tuning since it’s always been something I been trying to learn.🙏

So as long as your fuel injector data is correct, you would be able to log and adjust the ve table to match your target afr? I'm still confused about target afr at altitude. Would you want to target a richer afr at 6000ft 100kpa than you would at sea level since you are already in positive boost pressure? Thanks for the videos and your help!

The engine is still a pump just at less pressure. Most ECUs can do barometric compensation and altitude does little. Having raced at sea level and 6200 ft, the main ECU that issues is one that isn't VE based. Normally only a around full throttle and no boost because "floored" at 6200ft for instance is 80 kpa instead of 101kpa at sea level.

Nope, you're hitting the nail on the head, would you kind of follow the same steps on a brand new set up you haven't tuned before? or would you just kind of work your way up until you get the general idea of how it reacts?

Truly it depends on the combination. I took a VE map for a 6466 Evo 9 and tossed it on my Honda V6 when I first switched to the Infinity. Both cars were big cam, 2000cc injector, and big turbo, it a surprisingly close. Basically I follow the same steps though whether I have a perceived starting point or I make a ve map.
