Τον Δεκέμβριο του 2018, τα ερωτικά φλερτ στην Εναλλακτική Σκηνή της ΕΛΣ κόπηκαν… σπαθί! Για μια σειρά οκτώ παραστάσεων, η κωμική όπερα Ο μικάδος των Γκίλμπερτ και Σάλλιβαν, προπατόρων των Monty Python και των αδελφών Μαρξ, ενθουσίασε κοινό και κριτικούς σε μια άκρως επιτυχημένη παραγωγή με άφθονο γέλιο. Οι δημιουργοί του Μικάδου Ουίλλιαμ Σβενκ Γκίλμπερτ και Άρθουρ Σάλλιβαν εμπνέονται από την ατμοσφαιρική Άπω Ανατολή για να συνθέσουν μια κοφτερή σάτιρα των κοινωνικοπολιτικών ηθών του 19ου αιώνα. Στη μαγική πολιτεία του Τιτιπού, όπου ο Μεγάλος Αυτοκράτορας (Μικάδος) είχε απαγορεύσει το κόρτε, οι ερωτύλοι ράφτες γίνονταν δήμιοι για να μην αποκεφαλίσουν… τον εαυτό τους, οι βουλευτές αυτοανακηρύσσονταν σε «άρχοντες των πάντων» και τα απαγορευμένα φλερτ ανθίζουν στις πιο απίθανες εκδοχές. Η μουσική διεύθυνση και ενορχήστρωση ανήκει στον Μιχάλη Παπαπέτρου, ενώ τη σκηνοθεσία υπογράφει ο Ακύλλας Καραζήσης.

In December 2018, and for a run of eight performances, the comic opera The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan, the forerunners of Monty Python and Marx Brothers, enthused the audience and critics in a highly successful production that guaranteed plenty of laughter. The creators of The Mikado, William Schwenck Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, drew inspiration from the atmospheric Far East to compose an acerbic satire on the socio-political mores of the 19th century. In the magical land of Titipu where the Great Emperor (the Mikado) had banned flirting, philandering tailors become executioners so that they don’t have to behead themselves, parliamentary deputies declare themselves “masters of everything”, and flirting, although banned, flourishes in the most unimaginable forms. Conducted and orchestrated by Michalis Papapetrou and directed by Akyllas Karazisis.
